After recommendations from my neighbors, my partner and I got around to trying Casa Del Mariachi. The place was so cute and well-decorated... and the food was delicious! We got the chicharones, menudo, and nachos to start. As you can see, the nachos were more than enough for a party of four. (I'm eating the leftovers for breakfast as I type this.) I was also pretty excited that they have menudo on the menu every day! I wish there was hominy in it, but the flavors were excellent and there was plenty of stomach in it, so I can't complain. Hoping for some good Mexican food we decided to give this place a try. Upon entering there was a very strong odor of cleaning supplies, which is a good thing in terms of cleanliness it unfortunately lingered while eating. Maybe they can tone down that smell a bit for a more pleasant sit down experience. Menu has some items that I was pleasantly surprised to see like Pozole and mole as their specialty. I tried the mole chicken enchilada and found the mole to be flavorful, Also had the same enchilada with their green sauce and that too was very flavorful. Last was the same but with red sauce but that fell flat on taste unfortunately. As mentioned previously, the rice and beans were very small portions and neither one did much for my palate. If you are a chips and salsa person know they don't have salsa like you might see elsewhere, just a spicy red sauce or milder green sauce, both in squeeze bottles. Folks who served us were very nice. Happy to have a good Mexican restaurant just around the corner from my house. The couple times I've been here the ingredients are much more fresh/homemade than some larger restaurants. The beans and rice are especially good, go great with any entree. The only thing my family has to say that's negative is that we wish there was more sauce-wether that be sour cream or guacamole. The meat is dry without it. They give you hot sauce and verde sauce but they're a little too hot for us. We'll be back for sure to try more of the menu. We've been looking for a good local Mexican restaurant and thought we would try this one. We got 2 Al pastor tacos, 1 Al pastor tostado, an enchilada meal and a Sopas meal for ~$40. We got takeout and it was ready in 15 minutes, but the restaurant is so cute next time we will eat in. I'm a vegetarian so cannot comment on the meat dishes, although my hugely, picky 11-year-old granddaughter couldn't get enough of the chicken tacos.
