Our server helped us with understanding some of the items on the menu and also warned us about some of the iteme they didn't have, like pepperoni, mushrooms, and donuts. With that in mind, we ordered risotto balls to start and the pesto egg and cheese sandwich (baked fresh eggs, pesto, cheddar cheese, lemon aioli, brioche roll) and Dijon and lemon chicken salad sandwich (slow roasted chicken thighs, lemon aioli, herbs, local greens, pickles, and side of fries) for the main meals. The Yaupon iced tea caught our attention since it has indigenous tea with rotating fruit fusion so we ordered one just to try it. The risotto balls came out a little sooner than the other items. We loved the crispy outside, but not a huge fan of the inside since it was mostly risotto with not enough cheese or something to glue it all together. The sauce tasted like a fancy marinara - it was tart, lightly sweet, but a tad acidic and herby too. In our minds, we imagined our main plates looking differently, but I think it was mostly because we didn't do a good job of reading the menu. The pesto sandwich was good. The eggs reminded us a lot of a quiche-spongey and light. It did not have a strong pesto flavor. The roll seemed homemade; it was good and airy. The Dijon lemon chicken salad sandwich was okay. The chicken thighs chunks were tender, and I could definitely taste the pickles, lemon, and Dijon. I think it needed more salt or even something sweet to balance out the acidic flavors. The bread was well toasted. The fries were delicious with the right amount of salt, crispiness, and variety. The iced tea was not our favorite as it tasted overly sweet which might've removed any fruit flavor. The staff was very attentive, they have lots of tables and high chairs to choose from, and lots of natural sun coming through the large windows.

Those who enjoy banana peppers might enjoy that they are lightly fried too resemble the calamari, however I'm not the biggest fan and probably should have asked them to hold them. With them being breaded the same as the calamari is difficult to tell them a part so when your taste buds are gearing up for a bite of calamari and instead you bite into a pepper or can be slightly disappointing. For $19 I would prefer more calamari and less peppers. The salads are very good here too. The Roasted Garlic Caesar features a classic Caesar dressing enhanced with a bright hint of lemon and topped with crunchy breadcrumbs. I added salmon as my protein choice, which was cooked beautifully and paired perfectly with the savory, garlicky flavor profile of the salad. This made for a filling and flavorful meal. Tagliatelle - Outstanding homemade pasta and sauce. The tender, shredded short rib ragu is perfectly tossed with fresh noodles. It has an ideal noodle-to-sauce ratio and avoids being overly rich or heavy. A deeply comforting, cohesive dish topped beautifully with parmigiana. Also enjoyed the lobster roll which was served warm with butter on a perfectly toasted brioche bun, accompanied by a side of fries. The rich, melted butter beautifully complemented the sweet lobster meat, and the brioche added a wonderful touch of sweetness and crunch. Really glad that my bus tour stopped here. I'll definitely return and highly recommend!

I rarely post anything on yelp but I feel that I have to in this case. I visited this restaurant years ago and it was really good. The pizza and pasta and service at that time were top notch. I didn't visit Westerly last summer but I will be a lot this year. After looking at the reviews, I saw that this place is number 8, so I revisted. After my visit, I am shocked that this place is number 8 and I feel obligated to let people know about my experience. We went there towards the end of the night, they were closing in 30 minutes. We were made to feel like a huge inconvenience. The waitress actually said that they were closing soon, which I found rude. We could also hear her complaining to her co-workers that we were taking so long. She was very cold to us. On top of that, the pizza came out burnt and pasta was undercooked. We didn't complain because we already felt like we were annoying them enough. We will never be back. read more

The food was OK but the rude waitress ruined the experience for me. I waited a very long time before I was even greeted or acknowledged. I wanted a salad to start and then a pizza after that, which I told her. I ended up getting both at the same time. I asked for dressing on the side, and it came on it. Our server was friendly, and soon our order was placed. Not much time had passed before the garlic knots came out. Strongly tasting of fresh garlic (as they should) they were delicious. The dough was chewy and flavorful, the garlic adding even more to the mix. I got even more excited for the pizza. When it arrived, it was smoldering hot, fresh out of the oven. But I could not wait, so I used a fork and knife for my first bite. The dough was crisp, the sauce zesty and a whole lot of cheese. So cheesy that some pepperoni fell off my friend's slice as he put it on his plate. If you like a cheesy pizza, this is the spot for you. The first slice went down easy, and in some ways I was reminded of the texture of a classic NY pie but thinner. I eagerly reached for the second slice, a cheese one. That's where things fell apart for me. The difference in these two slices was immense. I'm not sure what happened in the oven, but the pizza was not cooked evenly. The cheese sliced flopped and lost all the great texture I enjoyed in the first slice. Unfortunately, it seems the rest of the pie didn't reflect my first slice experience. I liked it enough that if someone invited me back, I would go but I don't think this will be on my places to recommend in Westerly yet. Kids color, parents talk, teenagers perform indifference while inhaling slices. Staff moves with the rhythm of people who've been here since they were kids themselves. I wanted the pizza to match the room. It didn't. Fourteen inch thin crust that can't decide if it's New York or Neapolitan. Doesn't nail either. The middle collapses. You need to fold it backward or use a fork to eat it. Neither option appeals to me. Sauce, cheese, crust. Everything blurs together. Can't tell you what any single component contributed because nothing stood out enough to claim it. Pepperoni brought grease. Covered my hands and the plate. Some flavor there, not enough to make the cleanup worth it. What I wanted: crust with structure. Pizza that holds its shape. Components that argue with each other before they work it out. What they're serving: something else. But here's what I keep coming back to. Families who've been showing up since 1998. People driving from out of state for a booth. Kids measuring childhood in pizza box trees. Twenty six years on the same corner doing the same thing the same way. They're not confused. They know what they're getting. The product isn't the pizza. It's the room, the people, the 26 years of your family showing up. Pizza's just the excuse that brings you back in.
