Oh. I've been looking for this specific taste of Baja style fish tacos. If you're from California, you know what I'm talking about. The fish is flaky and tender. The batter is airy and crisp. The tortilla tastes like it was freshly made from scratch same day. The seafood dishes are so well balanced and fresh. You see a pattern. Everything is fresh. Sr. Ozzy's is a small joint that I noticed while driving north on the DNT service road. The name rang a bell of familiarity and I thought perhaps it was a place from So. Cal, my old stomping grounds. It was not. However, it is very similar to places down there which is great because if there is one thing I miss besides the ocean, it's the Mexican food down there and that's the hungry beast in mah belly this place fed! Inside it's not huge, and pretty casual vibes. It almost looks like a counter order type place but we were seated and served. The owner was working at the time and he's siper nice. We chatted a bit and got a rec on some of the menu items. I liked my food. I was not expecting the tacos to be fried but it worked. The chipotle sauce was killer! This was the dinner I didn't realize I wanted today when I drove into Frisco. I'm here solo this weekend and I stopped by here when I decided I needed to have some Mexican food while I was in Texas. The host (owner?) could not have been friendlier. It was a tiny place and it filled up almost immediately after I sat down! I got the chicken fajitas even though there were a ton of things on the menu that I was wavering between that all looked great. The chicken was just absolutely perfect. It was moist and nicely grilled and seasoned. The veggies were also really nicely caramelized. I don't know if they were the best fajitas I've ever had but I can't recall having better ones! Had a hankering for some street tacos and ran across this place which was 3 minutes from my job. I am so glad I did. When I walked in there was a family dining but otherwise it was quiet. There was a young fella eating but he got up and took my order. He didn't have the best customer service.....a little on the dry side for me. I ordered the asada 3 taco plate which comes with beans and rice for $13.99. Let me tell you.....these were the most seasoned tacos I have EVER HAD!!!! Just packed with flavor. The beans and rice were good but I always mix them together and add green salsa. The beans weren't the usual refried as they had some whole beans in them. I expressed to the manager/owner that my tacos were breaking apart as I was eating them. He said it was from the steam because I asked for them to go. I suggest they double the tortillas because they don't skimp on the meat but it's not as much a deal breaker as lack luster customer service. I will definitely be back here for sure. The QuesaBirria Tacos were outstanding! Burrito was great but all agreed there was a little too much rice; recommend just a little less rice and a little more meat. Street Taco was excellent. Hot Dog was unbelievable (who knew a Mexican hot dog was THAT good, WOW!). Tres Leches was off the chain delicious. The owner was friendly and personable, and remembered us from our last visit. Also a delicious Mango Margarita. For lunch the Torre Mixta; a "tower" of shrimp ceviche, imitation crab, scallop, abulon, octopus, cooked shrimp and aguachiles. This is huge and so authentic. The mojarra was perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and full of flavor. The birria fries were a standout loaded, juicy, and packed with delicious birria that tasted authentic and fresh. Im obsessed with street style tacos and im always looking for the best taco restaurant around me. Today i found this place and it was clean, ambiance good, service was very good; unfortunately the food did not meet the expectations... all the tacos tasted bland!!! I would not recommend if you are looking for tacos... they have seafood like aguachiles, ceviches & they also have sushi. Im Not sure i liked the menu. Worst customer service by far saddest part was it was the owner who treated us like dogs. Took everyone else in the entire restaurant order and could not even offer my 13yr old son and teammates waters after 30min of sitting there they finally decided to take their drink order then threatened to call the cops on me despite being him a restaurant full of paying patrons. I have heard only great things about this place and finally got a chance to stop in for lunch today with my Mom. Sr. Ozzy's hit it out of the park. The Owner - Armando - was gracious and attentive and we were chatting with him before, during, and after our meal. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted and seated by Myra. She brought us waters while we browsed the cocktail menu. Fortunately, we spent quite a bit of time browsing the Food Menu online and knew what we wanted to order prior to our arrival. We started things off with some Mango Margaritas with tajin on the rim (which kicked it up a notch). The flavor and spice profile hit the sweet spot just right. Chips and Red/Green Salsa were brought to the table piping hot and ready for dipping. Excellent! Then came the entrées - Mom ordered one Vampiro and one Pollo Taco with a side of Rice & Beans. I ordered a Quesa Birria and a Mar Y Tierra Taco with a side of Rice and Beans. So freaking good! And...Mexican Flan for dessert! Phenomenal! This was a perfect way to end a meal. Not too decadent but also didn't leave still feeling hungry. It is clear that the Owner takes pride in his culinary skills and expertise and it truly shines through. You can tell that everything is made from scratch. Nothing canned or microwaved here. Food portions, taste, and quality - all right on point. The flavor and spices meld together on the palate and complement each other very nicely. It's like I was teleported to a different realm of consciousness. Everything about our visit was reminiscient of and giving us SoCal Vibes. We will be back to try other Menu items (namely the Mexican Sushi - the Baconador) and I can promise you that we will be regulars here going forward. I've been here 2x and each time did not disappoint! It's never overly crowded so you don't have to worry about a wait. They offer complimentary chips and salsa. I love their fried tilapia, the fish is huge, I do wish the rice and beans could be a little bigger though. The first time we had the birria ramen and it was a little salty for my liking and the menudo is just ok. The micheladas never miss though they are huge and always taste bomb! We sat down, reviewed the menu and played the waiting game not until we had to say "we are ready to order". Things to consider if you want to visit this place. I don't recommend it guys because ....the portion of food that was served was extremely small. Excellent and extensive menu with creative and colorful selections- while we browsed the menu, we enjoyed chips and salsa. The green and red salsas needed a bit more seasoning and salt and the round containers could have used a couple more scoops- chips were a bit scarce too. We ordered the sushi- yes, scallop sushi- it was beautifully made. Tasty but also needed just a sprinkle of seasoning or creamy goodness on the scallops.
