Stopped here for breakfast with family. I had a couple of breakfast tacos and my wife had a migas platter. My tacos were very tasty, but they could have had a little more meat and a little less beans. My wife really enjoyed her plate and from the looks of her plate, they piled on the food. We also liked the fact that they made their tortillas fresh on site. The wait staff was attentive and the restaurant was very clean. read more

After being in Texas for over a year, Casa Garcia's is still by far the best mexican restaurant. Everything my fiance and I have ordered from the menu has been delicious and never a disappointment. The staff is very friendly, especially the woman working the front desk! Yes, this place can get very busy and may have long wait times! But what works best for us is to call in our order and pick it up to enjoy at home. People who bash on this place because of the service need to understand that not everything is perfect and wanting instant gratification is just being high maintenance. My favorite dish is the Migas! Wonderful service! Great food! Love the atmosphere! A few days ago I came in with a friend. From the moment we sat down to the moment we got up, steller service. Our server was Tarra. (Ask for her next time your are in!) She greeted us promptly, conversation was fabulous. Drinks never got low, she new what we needed before we even realized! Taking in all the options on the menu, she suggested I try the stuffed avocado. I must say it's my new fave! My friend got the shrimp cocktail (which she had suggested too!). Superb! So here's the thing...every meal I've had here is delicious (I've had at least 7 different varieties of tacos, fajitas, enchiladas, tamales, steak, queso flameado, taco salad, flan, & more), but I don't keep coming here for any of those things. I come for the CORN TORTILLAS! They are my FAVORITE. Easy enough right? Apparently not. Literally almost every single time I get food from here they forget the tortillas. But it's like childbirth-I forget how painful the last experience was & I try it again & then it happens AGAIN. This time I ordered a lunch special with an enchilada/tamale, 2 corn tortillas, and a taco with a corn tortilla (surprise!) Was my food cold? Yes it was. But hey, I can warm it up no biggie. Were my tortillas delicious? I don't know because once again I didn't get any. BUT HEY! I still have my taco right? Yes! I sure do-with a flour tortilla. This entire meal was a complete disappointment. Cold food. No dessert. No tortillas. I get it, it's busy...understandable, however 4 out of 5 times forgetting an essential part of a Mexican food meal is not okay with me-not when it's the only thing that keeps bringing me back! It might seem small but to me it's not. Often my order is wrong & I just make it work, but paying attention to detail is a necessary thing when you're dealing with peoples food. The place all my coworkers love to go. Which is fine. It's ok food. But that's it. Ok. Not great. Not really even good. I normally get some kind of lunch enchilada which comes with rice and beans. All of it tastes pretty bland. There aren't really any kind of spices involved. In any capacity. The upside is that it's cheap, the downside is that it is cheap for a reason. But since it is one of the few Mexican restaurants in the area, I guess ok cuts it. read more

Let me start by saying that we are regular customers at Casa Garcia's, we have been going there since it opened. However, we were in there a while ago, there were probably 10 customers in the main dining area(nowhere near 50% capacity, but we were told we would have to wait 15-20 minutes for a table. I completely support Covid restrictions, what I don't support is your hostess' attitude. We will probably be back, because Kim and María are great, but this particular hostess was rude. read more

Migas, migas, migas. This place is all about the migas at breakfast time. They have Carne Guisada Migas, Fajita Migas, Chorizo Migas, Sausage Migas, Migas a la Mexicana, Green Migas, Bacon Migas, Machacado Migas and just plain Migas. I had the Chicken Fajita Migas for breakfast today and they rocked! Also had some queso with meat and guacamole included and a few flour tortillas just because I really need those extra calories in the morning (or afternoon or whenever I wake up and decide it is time to get my Migas on). The service here is always rock steady and the food has always been great! read more

I had the Chorizo Migas. The migas had a nice flavor and texture. A good bit of meat and cheese. The beans were pretty good. Not bland, but not outstanding. The potatoes were fine. The whole package was prepared fairly well and I really have no complaints. It could have been greasy, the eggs could have been dry, the potatoes mushy or overcooked -- none of those problems surfaced. I enjoyed the salsa pretty well - it gets a 4 out of 5 rating. All in all, a very good meal after playing 3 hours of soccer before noon. read more

Never fails they serve excellent breakfast. Service was excellent and prompt. I had the menudo and it was steaming hot and flavored to perfection. Home made tortillas are always the best. When in Pflugerville this is the go to place for great Mexican food. read more

Update! Still great, and the chimichanga is now amazing again, me and the wife go here all the time and highly recommend it. Everything is very authentic, tortillas are made fresh in front of everyone, and the prices are on point. Pflugerville has a few great Mexican food restaurants which promotes the perfect amount of competition for great food. read more

Casa Garcia's used to be my favorite Tex-Mex place here in Pflugerville but due to their prices going up an avg of 25% per plate over the past 2 years it is no longer holding that spot. Both Rio Grande and El Rincon are cheaper and now Rio Grande has much better margaritas and the plates are more generous. I don't feel El Rincon is quite as good as either place but their prices beat the heck out of Casa Garcia's. Me and the wife were going at least once every 2 weeks and now we've just had to move on and even told them their prices were going to steer people elsewhere. But hey, God bless 'em and as long as they stay crowded I'm sure their prices will continue to climb. Thanks for the memories but we're shopping for great Tex-Mex elsewhere and enjoying the changes. This was my favorite Mexican Restaurant until 04/04/19. I picked up my grandson from school and decided since I skipped lunch we would do an early dinner. So at 4:15pm, there were a few people in the place. We were seated right away and it took 15 minutes sitting in the front for our server to bring us menus. Then it took another 15 minutes for another server to bring me a margarita. I finally flagged down our server that was more interested in chatting with the other employees than taking our order. We were sitting there watching him go back and forth with no other tables and ignoring us. I finally said, "excuse me did you forget about us"? He said he thought we weren't ready to order after ignoring our eye contact. The food came and was great. I was starting to feel better and my son is a server so my forgiveness side came out. Then out of the blue, he brings me another margarita that I did not order. So I thought maybe he was trying to make up for the bad service in the beginning. I did notice that the margarita looked different but paid no mind since it tasted delicious. My grandson ordered the flan for dessert and the other server delivered it which was fine. Then the server shows up with another one. So I said go ahead and we will take that one to go. My ticket came and the amount was $38.00 since the extra unordered margarita and the to go flan was not on the ticket, I gave him a $10 cash tip. About 3 am I wake up with the worst stomach and had diarrhea and vomiting all night. I was sick for 2 days. I think that the server put something in the second margarita. I thought about calling and decided against it since my son is in the same industry. Then I reviewed my bank statement and saw that he had added another $5.00 tip to the amount. Tried calling management put on hold forever twice. Never going back was not worth getting sick over. read more

Ok. Lived in north Austin for 25 years...but never have been to Casa Garcia's in Pflugerville. What's one more strip mall joint, right? WRONG. Killer caldo with just about a whole chicken breast, and an amazing reposado margarita that may be now among my favorite in Austin. Nor overly sweet with a great lime balance. Plus my waiter who was not afraid to steer us right with a sense of humor to boot. Ok, maybe a slightly less well lit ambiance would be nice, but that's just being picky. We will be back. read more

A group of us had lunch there today. The service was horrible. A list of infractions: 1. Never refilled the chips and salsa 2. Refilled some people's water, but not others 3. Entered an order wrong and wanted to argue with my friend about what she ordered 4. Charged us for tea when we all had water 5. Kept the change of cash payers and had to be asked to return it. Had a passion fruit frozen margarita ... very good but strong! To compensate for alcohol I also ordered a chicken quesadilla from appetizer menu: it was so big I was only able to eat 2 slices. I've been to this restaurant twice at non-peak hours, and it's one of those places you wish you could split your rating for service (a zero) and the food (a four). As for food, the chips and salsa (whenever you finally get them) are tasty, and I recommend the Enchiladas Mexicanas with gujillo sauce (very delicious). Their mole and ranchero sauces are decent, but can be found better at other home-grown Austin places. Both times I have been there I have been left sitting for nearly ten minutes without water, waiter, or chips. When I finally got to order they STILL hadn't brought my chips or water, and my special requests were not followed. Then it takes forever, again, to pay the bill. Found servers doubled as bartenders; actually tripled since they bussed tables, too. On top of that, they move vveeerrryy slowly. Expect to spend much more time there than is necessary. The last time I was leaving, I noticed the owners were sitting two tables behind me and offered a "thank you for coming!" I would have been more grateful if they'd gotten off their a - - es themselves and helped out! read more

I used to love this place, but recently it has just gone down hill. The service is very slow. I was there recently and every time I order fajitas and I ask for flour tortillas with my order they NEVER bring it out! And I have to ask 2 or 3 times for my tortillas. Then when they finally bring them they only give me 1 or 2 (because they're cheap). I'm really sick of this place, they are just not as good as they used to be. Sorry!
