Came in tonight and was told 15-20 minutes. After 25 minutes I checked in with the host and she said there was still one table ahead of us. You would have thought it was cinco de Mayo here. Everyone was running around and servers were bussing all of the tables completely and the host was running back and forth from the host stand to bussing tables as well. I bet they don't get paid for two jobs being a host and a busser. Anyways, our food was good, and fast. The only thing that was weird other than the staff running around constantly was at the end of our meal my husband who is active duty asked if they honored a military discount. The server said no, however I can convince our manager. Her words not ours. She walked away and a few minutes later came back and said, "yeah my manager said it was hard no but still took off your $3 beans." I thought that was rude, "hard no." We still like the food so we may come back. Hopefully they have more staff and maybe hire a busser or two. read more

First time here and didn't disappoint. Sat at bar and greeted with warm hellos by host and bartender. Had their special cucumber margarita and wow. Went for the combo fajitas and was very tasty and filling. Salsa had nice flavor, rice and beans very good. So many items I have to try on next visit. read more

Bland and boring.... This place used to have good food, but the mixed fajitas that I had tonight had no seasoning whatsoever! You could detect a hint of salt on the beef, the chicken was,.... chicken and the shrimp belonged in a salad. Same with the veggies. This plate could have been served in an American, Italian, Greek or Indian restaurant and you would never know that it came from a Mexican kitchen. Don't bother coming here for this type of dish. Went to Casa Jimenez for lunch and was pleasantly surprised that the restaurant was busy. Ordered a mojito which I thought was overpriced since it was loaded with ice and the pan fried fish ( Caldo De Pescado) It looked and sounded amazing but I found out that the food was quite blend. The waitress was not all that friendly but maybe she had a rough day. I try to see pass that because we all have one of those days. Waiting for my Rx at Walgreens I realized I need a dinner ASAP. The reviews seem good here. So here I am.its true the salsa is very very good. And the guacamole is too. I just added salt. Guacamole comes on different sizes, if they don't tell you that ask. I ordered 2 scoops. I had a shredded chicken burrito w/ refuted beans, guacamole and pick de Gallo w/ red sauce. It is enormous! The red sauce is a very mild flavor. I would of preferred more spice. The burrito was filled w/ very tender shredded chicken. Overall a 4. The service was excellent. read more

My husband I and ate here all the time when we lived in Murrieta. Then we moved to Temecula (Temecula Pwky & Margarita area) and we still consistently go to this location about once a month. The food is incredibly good, the service is always friendly, and the prices are very fair. It's my favorite place to go for Mexican food in the Murrieta-Temecula area! We did try the Temecula location once, but we had a horrible experience there, and so we always go to the Murrieta location - it's worth the extra drive! read more

Poor service! Used to go all the time just sat there for 20 min severs walking around ignoring our table, checking on others around us as we sat there with menus on our table waiting for anyone to come to our table, 16 min later a gentleman walked up sat at a table nearby and bartender comes over asked him what he wants makes him a drink and takes his order. Tried to get his attention and others walking by, no one acknowledged us. I would understand if they were busy but the restaurant was not busy and there appeared to be plenty of staff. We were in for dinner the other day and I could not believe I had not reviewed this place! Located in a shopping center off Cal Oaks, this gem is a "can't miss" next time you're in Murrieta! The food is good. The service is very friendly. We had a nice young man who seated us and served us. We ordered the Coronarita and we were not disappointed! They add a chili salt rim the drink for that extra kick! This place has a great menu, happy hour specials that change daily and on top of that, they have an " all you can eat menu"! Let me begin. . . Customer Service: BAD! The real reason I gave them 2 stars! There was a 40 min gap from when our kids food came out and our main meals. We never were asked or received drink refills. (Yes we had "alcoholic beverages" you would figure they would ask if we wanted more). No one as rude, but just neglected and food took almost an hour! Always good food, and the food is affordable. Service is usually excellent also. I have eaten here many times; too many to count. I have taken groups here after golf, and everyone loves the food. We just discovered this spot a couple weeks ago and we have been twice. It's definitely our new favorite spot for Mexican food and margaritas. The Cadillac margarita is really good and definitely my favorite. We have tried the fish tacos, carne asada tacos, the plate with a tostada, tamale and enchilada (#26). All the food is great and tastes amazing as leftovers. The portions are huge! My mother in law also got the chicken chimichanga and loved it. First time dining here and usually wouldn't review a place after only one visit unless it was extraordinarily fantastic (or horrible) but I read the other reviews while I was eating and was shocked at some of the negative comments. To start, for those who gave such negative reviews, what in the world are you expecting? I've been to Thailand and I can't find a restaurant that compares with the food in Thailand. I've been to Italy and rarely can I find a place as good as true Italian food. And yes, the Mexican food I've had here in the U.S. usually pales in comparison to the food when in Mexico. Okay, all that being said, I found this restaurant to be quite nice. Just minutes off the freeway and located near other stores and business. Right on the main road so easy to find. Plenty of parking too. The restaurant itself is very nice. Nothing over the top but not dirty and rundown. The menu items are pretty typical and I ordered chile relleno with the rice and beans. Okay, here is really where I take issue with one of the reviews who commented on how bad the refried beans are. All I can say is you must have been on a day when they are horrible. I have only been here once but I can say the refried beans were exceptional! This may sound crazy but I actually consider myself an aficionado when it comes to refried beans. I love all Mexican food (except pozole) but my favorite is a bean and cheese burrito. Want to know where the BEST bean and cheese burrito is? Just ask and yes, there IS a difference. I could have been happy with just a plate of their refried beans and some chips to dip in. Okay, my chile relleno was average and the chips are not great. Salsa that came with the meal was okay and although I asked my waitress three times, she never brought out the sour cream that I ordered when I placed my order for the meal. But all that being said, this was a nice place and even though they couldn't seem to remember my sour cream, the service was very friendly and nice. I definitely plan on going back to this place. Again, for those who really beat up Casa Jimenez, yes, there are better places. But it is NOT as bad as those reviews from last year. Casa Jimenez has been in business for quite some time. Unfortunately I can't corroborate the previous review, especially since I love giving out 1 and 2 star ratings. Alas, I'm forced to report on my only visit here. I called ahead to pick up a Carnitas plate. The meal came with crunchy pieces of spiced pork, rice, refried beans, chips and salsa--all this for a fairly affordable price. The meal was average. I've had better and of course I've also had worse. A 3 star rating, when it comes to Mexican, is a pretty rating (at least by my rating standards). I definitely can't rule out coming here again. On a side note, they have a banquet hall adjacent to the dining room.
