We were looking for a local restaurant near hotel, and this one was a great find located right across the street from hotel in a shopping area. The pleasant aroma of the Authentic Cuban cuisine hits your nose as soon as you walk through the door. It wasn't crowded so we were seated right away. Service could have been a little better , but food was delicious. I went with the chicken fricassee it was very flavorful and the service size was plentiful. It comes with two sides I decided to get yellow rice and black beans and they were good as well. read more

The location is very close to all Miami Airport hotels. We love them because their portions are great for the price. It is a Latin restaurant and the employees' English isn't perfect, but that didn't change the flavor of the food. There is always a long wait and a line both inside and out. Try their Cuban coffee and Colombian espresso. Yummy!! I have tried and recommend their Mofongo, any eggs, pancakes... again, I've only had breakfast foods. read more

Arrived here at the recommendation of our hotel after a long day of travel. We ordered ropa vieja, rice with chicken, sweet plantains, soup, and assorted other sides. Everything was delicious, came out quickly, but had been carefully prepared, bountiful portions, good price point and the service was wonderful as well. Our only negative was the music they chose to play was the worst of yacht rock. If in the area we would definitely return with headphones. read more

While in Miami, I asked for recommendations for dinner. My hotels' staff recommended #casajuanrestaurante it was located across from my hotel, in a plaza. Their entree comes with 2 sides of your choice. I ordered the roast pork with rice and plantains... also got a mojito. The food was flavorful. The drink didn't taste like much liquor (lol). Let's just say that less is more. This restaurant is very simple, not fancy at all but everybody is very friendly. They genuinely make you feel welcomed. the food is delicious so you have to know when to stop lol. The stuffed tostones are amazing. You can have them with ground beef, tuna, ropa vieja, turkey or how ever and whatever you like them with. Trust me they are very open to especial orders. The grilled chicken platter is awesome, you can have it with veggies, with rice and beans how ever you want it. The chicken soup is delicious too, lots of carrots, potatoes and they always make sure to give you a piece of chicken. So if you are by the airport area please check them out. read more

I ordered Breakfast this morning and ordered my breakfast with Hash-browns. They were the rectangular ones which you can heat in the toaster. However, they fried them to an extremely burned dark brown. To top it off when I cut into it there was a lot of oil that came out. You cut even see the oil on top as I was beginning to cut and then on the plate so I did not eat those. Additionally my Breakfast took almost 25 minutes to get to me. I know that after 20 minutes I asked where it was. That is the last time I go to eat at that place. read more

I'll give this place five stars not just because the food is beyond incredible but because the service matches how good the food is. I love eating Cuban food when I come to Miami especially when I party, I you that every great Cuban place in Miami while I'm in town but this place is fire and competes with all the high-end places I've been to. Going back to the service the waiters were incredible informative and won't do you wrong on any of their food or sauces. I had the flank steak and my boy had the lamb and they were both equally as good.(here's a hack for you) order the " garlic sauce" with your steak or lamb! I'm a long time local customer and came for dinner and the waitress was so worried about serving tourist that was in a bigger group that she didn't put in my order "chicken soup " So basically I came here to eat bread and water. We had some time to kill between getting of our cruise and heading to the airport so decided to try this place and we're so glad we did. It reminded me of a diner the way it was set up and had a huge menu. I ordered the sampler platter to try a little bit of everything and my boyfriend got the Cuban. Both were delicious and huge! Our servers were very nice and we were able to sit and relax for a while with a few beers. Highly recommend! read more

The food here is absolutely amazing! The employees were friendly and inviting. Our waitress brought out bread with garlic and oil. It was so good and fluffy! I forgot what I ordered, but it was banana stuffed with chicken. I also ordered yellow rice, black beans, and plantains. The main dish was good, however it reminded me of lasagna which I did not expect. The rice, beans, and plantains were spot on; I loved everything about it. My friend got roasted chicken and it was probably the best roasted chicken I've ever had. He also got yellow rice and black beans with a side of chicken soup. I have not been in Miami in 4 years and have to attend meetin close to the Miami area. Staying in the Blue Lagoon office park area I was researching restaurants and read the write up on Casa Juan. I was able to walk to the restuarnt which was located in a Publix strip center. I ordered skirt steak with black rice & beans, fried bananas and cocnut flan for desert. The meal was heaven. The steak had lots of flavor and the chimichurri sauce on the side was excellent. The coconut flan was by far the ebst flan I have ever sampled. Service was very good and the staff was friendly I liked the fact that the restuarant ahd one of the wireless credit card readers to charge the meal on. read more

You can definitely say casa juan is a Hole in the wall restaurant but that makes it even better. The food is always good and fairly priced. Loved the baby churrasco I ordered, it was soft and easy to cut, the meat was cooked properly and tasted like high quality meat! The congri ( rice mixed with beans ) was also tasteful along side the sweet plantains. The staff is also nice and talkative. The menu is big and has certain dishes that aren't easy to find in Latin restaurants anymore. Definitely recommend this to anyone wanting so Latin based food in Miami. read more

ok so before i review, growing up in preschool i had a Cuban teacher and everyday she'd make us food, on i wanna say thursday's she'd make us this plate called beef & rice, this was about 22yrs ago and i've been looking for it ever since... UP UNTIL TODAY i was finally able to find it!!!! It was there delicious beef picadillo, i ordered it hoping it'd be something similar and it was the dish i've been looking for allllll these years. I ordered it with a side of rice, & from that first bite it took me back to childhood. so for that i am forever grateful. so yummy and a really good price i definitely recommend you check them out if you're fond of delicious Cuban cuisine! most def a highlight of my Miami trip! Drinks were good(not very strong). Wasn't impressed with the food personally. I don't eat pork and most of the menu was pork.. Me and my mother in law went to eat here for her birthday after seeing great reviews. My mother in law ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and was brought out a Cuban sandwich which was pork and ham... I feel like I need to spare my out-of-towners from Cuban food disappointment, especially here being so close to the airport. Yes, this is good Cuban food, but you really need to know what to order (well, really, what NOT to order) to make your Cuban food journey more enjoyable. DO try out the popular items: You can't go wrong with a media noche sandwich, masitas de puerco or palomilla steak. DO have a fresh fruit shake. They are delicious DO try their specials of the day. I had the stuffed plantain and it was good and super filling and you can't beat the price. DO NOT have fish. Ok, to be honest, I've never had the fish here and maybe it's my strange family superstition or bad experience but we never get fish at a Cuban restaurant. And judging by other reviews, I think there's something to it. Or not - some guy raved about his fish so it might be really delicious. Just see what the server suggests so you know it's fresh. Just putting that out there. DO indulge in dessert. We Cubans love our sweets. I just noticed they have pasta. That's interesting. Might be tempted to try it one day. read more

We decided to try this place based on its review and close proximity to our hotel. We were seated promptly. My fiancé ordered a bottle beer and I got a mango mojito. The mojito tasted bitter and sour. You couldn't taste rum at all. Mind you, I was spoiled for 6 days prior being in Cozumel where the cocktails were made with all natural ingredients and made by hand fresh to order. I had mofongo with pork and my fiancé had lamb fricase. The mofongo was cold when it arrived. So was the broth that was served with it. It was bland and tasteless. The chicharrones in top of the mofongo was also cold. My fiancé's lamb fricase was piping hot on one side, burnt on the bottom, barely Luke warm on the opposite side, and salty. His yucca fries were also cold. We were hoping that the food would be good but sadly it was not. I would not recommend this establishment if you want fresh, authentic tasting food. The Cuban food in Los Angeles where I have eaten is much better. read more

The hotel recommended Casa Juan Cuban restaurant so we happily tried it. What a disappointment. We ordered the sampler platter. Everything was fried so long that it was as hard as a rock. We tried to eat the insides assuming that they would be softer, but not to be. We ended up leaving over half of it because it was inedible. And, the mojito was horrible too.
