This was recommended by our Lyft driver. We were told that this is one of the oldest restaurants on the Riverwalk upon entering we were seated and given the option of that are inside they didn't have any reservations online, so we decided to walk up the view is beautiful of the Riverwalk. The stack were friendly. The decor fit with the overall theme of the restaurant and they even had some musicians going around singing and playing instruments while you ate. The food is where they lost the stars the food was not good at all, and neither were the drinks to our liking it's great for the location, but wasn't our favorite I hope that you enjoy.

Wife and I stopped in for lunch. Loved the outdoor seating and the view of the Riverwalk was breathtaking. We were immediately seated and the service from beginning to end was exceptional. Both of our meals were excellent! Highly recommend!

Had the deluxe plate for lunch today. Cheese enchilada covered in their red sauce and then lots of melted cheese. Inside the red corn tortilla rolled up was more cheese as well as onions and small carrot chunks. This was really tasty. Then tried the tamale, sadly not that good. Very old tasting and just did not give off a fresh sense to it. Chili con carne, was ok. Flavor was bland to not so good. Rice was average and the refried beans were ok but nothing to write home about. The appetizer that comes with this meal was chips and queso as well as a guacamole salad. Both of these were ok. Queso was pre poured over top of the very small plate of chips. Guacamole salad filled the small plate but I am not a fan of guacamole anyway. Queso had a nice flavor just wish it was temperature was hot. But I still ate it. Service was good, took a little bit to get their attention to pay out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Place is noisy, especially when the mariachi band plays. A little hurtful to be honest[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]].

The server was very friendly. Not sure if I just ordered the wrong things or what but was not impressed. The queso was yellow. The elote had spice but no flavor and the chips that came with it were just soggy in oil. The drink was ok.

This Mexican restaurant, one of the oldest eateries in San Antonio, is huge and located at the Riverwalk. We came on a weeknight and scored a table right along the river; you can't beat the ambience. The chips and salsa were good and the additional guacamole we ordered was excellent. I ordered crispy tacos (2) which had flavorfully seasoned ground beef as well as cheese, lettuce, and pieces of tomato. Basic but good. The rice and beans on the plate were standard fare. I also got a horchata, which was superbly made. Service was efficient and professional. While they do have indoor seating, it's best experienced on a warm night sitting outdoors by the river, surrounded by lights and boats floating by.

Delicious! We walked by and decided to have lunch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Sat outside on the riverwalk.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was friendly and quick. I got the street taco trio and it was so flavorful! I'd get it again. I also got a Paloma, it was good but a little weak. Is it worth the drive?...yes

We dined in Saturday evening just before 6PM. We were seated immediately. Our server took several minutes to greet us--we had to ask another server to help us. Once our server arrived, she was attentive and responsive. The food was served hot and was flavorful. This is a good Tex-Mex restaurant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The servers are dressed in Mexican style tops and skirts, they look cute![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They played Spanish music on the speakers and there was a trio of mariachis that came around asking if we wanted them to sing for us.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We kindly declined.

The restaurant didn't not live up to the hype. The food was bland and not authentic. Great customer service was rendered ; however, I wouldn't recommend. I didn't enjoy my meal; however the restaurant has great guacamole and offer a complimentary souvenir picture.

A great option to peoplewatch, dine or enjoy a happy hour sitting by the riverwalk. They have mariachi offering to play at your request - pay per song. The place is large with private dining halls, Riverwalk sitting both indoor and outdoor and a couple floors/levels. The food is your typical Mexican (americanised) food but it's good and the staff are nice. Most people uber/lyft to the area due to limited parking but they do have a small back parking lot if you're driving. Being by the riverwalk, the spaces are narrow and there are a lot of stairs to go up or down so be prepared to walk. I did notice an elevator nearby which would make certain levels handicap accessible. Something to note, we had a large party in a private catered room and had a lot of food leftover. But after we were done we weren't allowed to take leftovers home, we were told to-go containers were not available for us. Also once we exited the private dining room, we lost access to the restroom.

Came to San Antonio from California and almost skipped this spot because of the reviews... but honestly, I'm glad we didn't We just wanted a place close to the River Walk with a nice view and some good Mexican food, and this ended up being a solid surprise. The chips and dip trio were sooo good, the food was actually pretty decent, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the river view made the whole experience even better.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely don't think it deserves all the bad reviews, sometimes you just gotta try places for yourself! (lots of birds so if you're scared dw they're not real)

A must when you have friends in town! [[HIGHLIGHT]]This spot has the iconic colorful umbrellas that are key to the San Antonio Riverwalk.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The outside area was well kept and our server was wonderful in coordinating our dessert arriving at the right time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Horchata was just ok, and the food was nothing extraordinary, but nothing to be upset about. It's a wonderful spot to have a meal.

We came here for a quick lunch before a work event, and it did not disappoint! The waitstaff were very friendly and attentive, and there is a mariachi band that plays for you in front of your table, if that's the vibe you are going for. We started with some chips and salsa, guacamole, and queso for the table. The spicy salsa was pretty good and the regular salsa was very fresh. The guacamole comes with this vinaigrette on top of it, which at first, we were skeptical of, but it turned out to really enhance the flavor of the guac and was very tasty. The queso was the largest queso I've ever seen in my life, served in a soup bowl, and it was addicting! For the entree, I ordered the chili con carne, which came with refried beans and rice. The sauce was pretty good and the cheese and raw onion on top was a nice touch. This is a good spot for large parties or if you are looking for some good Tex mex on the river walk.

This is a landmark restaurant in San Antonio Riverwalk, so we had to patio dine here (again)... This time, I had Chalupa Combo, and my husband had Chile Relleno. I think I just tried a mocktail, but can't remember the name. Despite the colorful patio with a scenic view of the bridge, the foods were mediocre. I did not like my Chalupa at all...barely ate it. Luckily, my husband really enjoyed his Chile Relleno...thought it was really good. I also thought my mocktail was mediocre...just kinda blahhh and watery? Still, thanks to the gorgeous views, it was well worth it! If based strictly on foods, I'd rate it about 2, but the views bumped it up to 3 stars!

The building is new. It's very open with high ceilings, lots of windows and cement floors. There was plenty of outdoor seating. There were only a few parking spaces by the entrance. From the moment I walked in, I could tell this place was special. The atmosphere is beautiful, upscale, and inviting. The architecture and design throughout the restaurant are absolutely stunning. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. This isn't your typical restaurant experience--the menu is creative, unique, and offers something different. You can tell a lot of thought goes into both the preparation and presentation of every plate. What really made the experience unforgettable, though, was the customer service. My waitress, Kreizon, was absolutely amazing. She was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely made me feel welcome throughout my visit. Electronic dance music pulsed quietly in the background. The toilets were all individual unisex stalls that were classy, mine had run out of hand towels. Also, the entire restaurant is very dimly lit. I had to use the flashlight on my phone to read the menu, but I have poor eyesight so there's that, but it might explain the quality of the photos I took. The Paloma drink was amazing. It had a great spicy zing in the back of the throat after every sip. Queso was... kinda plain. It might have been better with the add chorizo option. It was very thick. Shrimp cocktail was big, but we started fighting over the shrimp pieces. There was plenty of onion and tomato left over after the batttle. Pollo Asado was a great flavor and the chicken was juicy. Grilled squash that was on the side was good. Chicken enchiladas were good and had freshly sliced jalapeños, which is always a welcome detail. I wasn't able to taste the quesadilla but my daoughter said it was "really good". Fried Chicken sandwich had a great flavor and the bacon was actually pork belly if I'm not mistaken. Sadly there was more batter than chicken. The seasoned fries were delicious and crispy.

We decided to try several appetizers to go along with our concha to get a wider taste of their food than we would by just ordering a couple entrees. Let me tell you, this was a great idea! We ordered the Tosti-Ceviche Verde, Panela Asado, Mexican Street Corn, and their Spicy Bean Dip. The Ceviche Verde was excellent, the freshness of the fish and shrimp was wonderful with the chipotle mayo and avocado. We chose to have it on the salsa Verde Tostitos and it was all great combination. The Panelo Asado was a completely new dish for us and was extremely good with a savory flavor from the salsa Tlaquepaque that mixed well with the Panela cheese. Their tortillas though not made in house, are made for them and taste like mom made them. The Mexican Street Corn was great and had the perfect bit of char taste from the corn. It was creamy and flavorful, we did think it could use just a tad more lime juice though. The Spicy Bean Dip was very good. You can't go wrong with Oaxaca, Chorizo, and pieces of pork mixed with some mildly spicy beans. Our server was fantastic.
