    Very very good restaurant for pasta and Italian food lovers. Unique appetizers all were great. Pasta was good and fresh, but only 2 options, which we found very basic. Main meals were also not very unique but excellent. Service was amazing and not much wait for your food. We had the testing menu where you try everything on the menus except 2 dishes which is weird why did they exclude these in particular. I might go back if reservation was not so ridiculous long time..

    It's been a while since my last visit many years ago, same amazing experience. We were seated promptly and the service was outstanding throughout the dinner. We got the tajarin burro e salvia and tajarin al ragù, both exceptional, really really good. Then my wife got the capesante cotte nel burro, which she liked, and I got the maiale brasato al latte, which was absolutely fabulous, melt in your mouth tender meat. I loved it. We finished with a panna cotta and a chocolate bonet, both very good. What an amazing dinner at Cascina Spinasse, highly recommended!

    We had our final dinner in Seattle at Spinasse and twas a wonderful time. First off, Spinasse gives Capitol Hill from the moment you enter. It's minimally furnished with just the right amount of ambient lighting. Secondly, it's Italian, but Piedmontese Italian if that means anything to you. We started with crespelle ($29) which is an Italian crepe. The version we ordered was stuffed with prosciutto and parmigiana fonduta with arugula salad. The crepe was light and airy and paired perfectly with the salty prosciutto and parm. Perfect starter. Honestly, all the pastas we ordered were absolute fire. Of the three, I liked the Tajarin Al ragù ($20/$34) the most. It's a fine hand-cut egg yolk pasta with pork and beef ragù. The pasta is so finely cut; it's delicate. What I liked best was the way the ragù sauce enveloped itself into the folds of the pasta. Each bite was cohesive and really intentional. The risotto was also quite good as well - that night, it was the risotto ai gamberi ($21/$35) which highlight spot prawns. The spot prawns were sweet and the Calabrian chili was a really nice complement to the sweet and creamy. Delish. I'm sure the risotto is great in any season. I must say - the best thing about the menu is the fact that you can order a smaller portion of any of the pasta dishes as to not have to fully commit to one. This is a superb way to eat. Live actually. Include Spinasse on any itinerary if you can.

    O. M. G! Hands down, the best meal we had during our Seattle trip. Hallelujah! The insalata was so good eaten on top of their bread. The Cipollini Ripieni NEEDS to be a year-round dish! I have been daydreaming about those savory little onion-wrapped meatballs since we left Seattle. Mouthwateringly delicious! The pasta was so fresh--both were delicious--but I think I preferred the simple, yet masterful, butter and sage dish best. If I could give them 10 stars, I would.

    Very beautiful and intimate restaurant! The service is amazing - we had questions about the wine menu and they had brought out samples of wines they recommended to try! All the dishes we had were really delicious. Their butter noodles (tajarin con burro e salvia) are amazing texture wise! This is what our server had recommended to us. Highly recommend getting the desserts as well! The semifriedo and the tart were both delicious! Will definitely be back to try everything else!

    Beautiful place and service was absolutely wonderful!! We were introduced to the rich history of Piedmontese cuisine and given such amazing recommendations - from appetizers like prosciutto boards and pesto scallops to tajarin pasta.

    Update to my last review 14 years ago... Yes, still fantastic in all the ways I described years ago. Even the prices seem to not be out of sight and the atmosphere and food are fantastic. That said, I don't like setting in the area by the door and always request to be seated in the original restrauant space to the left of the entrance for a more subdued and romantic atmosphere. Tempted to eat everything on the menu for the $120/person, but we ate just about everything we liked and was absolutely stuffed. For the first time patrons you must eat a half portion of the Tajarin Con Burro E Salvia and the Tajarin Al Ragu. As in "Top Gun" don't think just do. The waiter, Brent picked out a wine and it was fantastic as I posted a photo for that bottle of Barbra D'Asti DOCG Superiore Ca'DiPian 2023. Parking just beside the resturant for $4/hr. They reserve the counter for walk-ins, but I would make a reservation and request to be seated in the original resturant space away from the front door reception area for more romantic atmosphere.

    Adam our server was so kind and helped us curate our order to make our first time at Spinasse a night to remember. Our order with pictures in order: 1.) Cavatelli al guanciale; pasta with pork, garlic, and kale. A great compliment to the butter and sage pasta, the pork being so soft and flavorful. 2.) the Cavolfiore con bagna caoda; a roasted cauliflower with an anchovy sauce and lemon. Did not think that a vegetable could be the star of the show, but with that sauce, it was our favorite. Loaded with flavor, every bite was perfect 3.) Tajarin con burro e salvia; butter and sage pasta. The fine cut literally melted in your mouth, best to eat first while it's warm. This is a dish that stays year round on their menu and was highly recommended by our friends. We ordered the pastas in the half order which was perfect for 2. Your order comes with complimentary bread which you can ask for olive oil on the side for. Will definitely be back!

    Celebrated a birthday here last night. We ordered the tasting menu for $120/person and was a great deal. So much delicious food and you don't leave feeling hungry. You actually leave feeling extremely stuffed! I loved every item we were served (that I could eat at least. I was too full to finish everything). My favorite was the stuffed onions, which went very well with the bread, as well as the ragu pasta. The fried chicken also had such a delicious, crispy but delicate skin. Service was similarly great. Eric was great at explaining things and giving tips for the meal. No complaints. As for ambiance, it was still decorated for Christmas with wreaths and pine garlands. I liked how cozy and romantic the place felt. No big lights here, only candles and small yellow bulbs. It is a pretty small space though so tables are pretty close together. It was very easy to eavesdrop on others so would not recommend hosting a very private convo here. I am giving a 4/5 stars though because VERY soon after eating I got an upper stomachache and diarrhea that I do not suspect is from eating too much. I'm not sure how this happened as I don't think anything was raw or undercooked. I have a good impression of the place still (the food and service was great) but it has been a bummer dealing with this for the past day.

    I came around 5pm on a Saturday without a reservation. The line was already out the door. When I made it to the front, I was told that 7:30pm would be the first available spot for a walk-in. I had a feeling it wouldn't take that long, so I gave them my contact information, and went to a local cafe in the meantime. Sure enough, I received a text at 6:30pm that they had a spot for me. The restaurant is cozy and welcoming. It has an open kitchen concept that lets you watch their team prepare dishes throughout the night. I started with a half portion of the tajarin con burro e salvia (fine-cut egg yolk pasta with cultured butter and sage). I liked how it was simple, yet very flavorful. Next, was a half portion of the risotto alla barbabietola con La Tur (roasted beet risotto with la Tur cheese). La Tur is a blend of cow, goat, and sheep milk, and its creamy and rich flavor complemented the beet risotto. For a side dish, I opted for the carote arrostite con salvia (roasted carrots with sage). Unfortunately, some of the carrots lacked flavor, while others tasted a bit too charred. Finally for dessert, I enjoyed four scoops of the nectarine tarragon sorbet. It was light, fruity, refreshing, and not too sweet. If I come back in the future, I will try to arrive before 5pm to minimize the wait time. I might try an appetizer, but I will likely opt for full portions of their pasta dishes, and finish with dessert.

    This place kind of a rustic feel feel to it but serves high quality food. They fave us a complimentary cracker with butter than anchovy on it. It was delicious and I wish I could order more. This restaurant is famous for their northern Italian thin pasta made with plenty of egg yolks. I got their signature one with butter and sage - fantastic. You can taste the egginess from the simplicity of the sauce. Next was the same pasta but with pork and beef ragu. The ragu itself was good but unfortunately, it just covered the delicacy of the pasta taste and this ragu could have just been on any pasta and would taste good. It is just wasted on the tajarin. The third one I tried was the cavatelli with braised short ribs. I'm not sure if the cavatelli was also made with the same dough as the tajarain but again the meat sauce covered all the intrinsic flavor of the pasta. The braised short ribs is definitely good but I could have had this on rice and it would be just as good. I would come to try their original butter sage tarajin. They gave complimentary bread. I guess in Italy butter does not come with bread but it felt dry just eating it so we asked for some and they were happy to provide some. My only gripe is that it is $33 for a dish that is not filling. My friend and I shared 3 pastas and it still wasn't filling. That means about $60+ a person for dinner at a not to high end restaurant.

    I went here ages ago but still dream about the angel hair pasta. We enjoyed our meal and the service sitting outside in 2022. It's pricy but I think worth it for a special occasion.

I looked through it and said, "This looks like pieces from different steaks." She told me she watched them cut it... then immediately followed that by saying she saw them put it under a heat lamp to reheat. So which is it? I work in the food industry. I'm not going to be gaslit over a plate like that. She offered to refire it, but at that point it was almost 11 and they were closing. I paid for my drink and left. Honestly, I wouldn't have been upset if they had just told me the kitchen was closing when I called. But don't invite me in, forget my order, and then serve something like this and try to pass it off like it's normal. Just be honest.

    What a lovely evening. I had been meaning to try this restaurant out but hadn't the chance till…read moretonight and I was so happy I did finally. An intimate setting with a small dining room, a chef's table and bar seating. The meal started with an amuse bouche. I the snap peas (which will be transitioned out soon so I advise you order this before it leaves the menu--tahini with mama lil peppers), half dozen oysters, homemade pea vine cavatelli, and the halibut with turmeric buerre blanc was delicate. Plates and silverware were changed out with each course and the attentive friendly service earned five stars. Sitting at the chef's table is advised if you are a foodie and want an interactive experience. I so enjoyed the conversations with the chef and the GM David. He creates all the cocktails and the wine list, he's phenomenal, and truly passionate about his craft. I couldn't choose between cocktails after dinner so he created a banana liqueur vanilla espresso martini as my after dinner cocktail. Every cocktail involves a home made ingredient and changes by the season. FYI, for the summer, this restaurant offers outdoor dining which is dog friendly. Looking forward to my next visit!

My son and I came here and are definitely looking to return soon! I'm just sad I was too full for their desserts...I think it was bread flavored ice cream or something and supposedly it's a trip. The place is small, cozy, upscale-rustic. The server was friendly, explained the dishes, and had recommendations when we asked. He told us the story about the desserts and aaaaaalmost won us over.
