Perfect for families and vacationers of ALL ages. Our fam of 6 never had an issue scoring complimentary towels, reclining sun chairs, tables, and/or umbrellas. You can even pay $30 for 30m or $55 for 1 hr to tackle the Flow Rider, a super cool surf simulator. In addition to a bar/grill onsite, they pipe in cool, upbeat tunes to enjoy throughout the park. This hotel is like a home away from Home . Very spacious for big families and big groups. They have two and three bedroom suites, amazing restaurants, pools, and a market on site. Rates start from $200 a night during the off season and up to $400 during the high season. Access to the waterpark is included with your stay. And truly the waterpark is the best park. They have poolside service, a lazy river and lots of lifeguards standing by. The only downfall I see of this property is that is so big so there's a lot of walking. But overall it's an amazing hotel. Very close to the Disney parks and plenty of room for families. You can even do groceries and cook and if you want to. This is my go to resort when in the area. I highly recommend it.

Typhoon Lagoon is shipwrecked tropical island themed with the biggest wave pool in the country. The waves reach 6 feet high and are intense enough to slide a bikini down (so I've heard). There are slides for 2+ so you can adventure together. Lazy River is pretty spacious and has floaty chairs -game changer. Not sure how I can go back to a standard tube after that. Loungers, chairs and picnic tables were available first come first serve. The reserved areas were booked up but we found the perfect location for all five of us. Sun and shade with the nearest bartender just a few steps away. The Mai Thai and Rum Runner were absolutely delish. Was happy to see hard cider available. Disney's magic is keeping the park clean and beautifully landscaped all day long. The water was always that perfect cool and refreshing temp, and crystal clear. Cast members always remind me why Disney is the best.

Cons: 1) no express lines; 2) limited food options, and poor quality of food; 3) the joints between the slide sections were very rough. I could feel every connection hitting my back, which made the ride painful instead of enjoyable. Advice: 1) bring water shoes or even better water socks, flip flops you have to hold in hands and sometimes it's very inconvenient; 2) waterproof phone holder for neck; 3) sunscreen, I got burned in 2 hours;

If…read morethere is any improvement I believe that is needed, it is the music to be that only improvement. Not all of us, fact many of us are fond of hearing modern pop and hip music. It is a water park and the music that is to be played in an atmosphere of water, sun and palm trees is Hawaiian/Pacific Island music, Caribbean or vintage classic beach rock music like the Beach Boys and Jimmy Buffet. Sorry, but if I want to hear such rubbish like hip and modern pop, I would go to a gentlemen's club or the urban ghetto. Also got to think about the interest of other's groups' taste in music, not just one group with strictly one type of music. That music does not fit in at all with this environment. Other waterparks like Volcano Bay have tropical Pacific Island music in their Hawaiian kind of atmosphere.

Regular thunderstorm wait was 30 mins, however we kept hearing it about every 30 mins, so we decided to just leave. Locked ranges form $15, $25 or $30, totally convenient. Food stalls seemed yummy, people were purchasing food. We would if we did not bumped into a lightning/thunderstorm warning. Will try to come again the next time we visit Florida! Parking was $25 per vehicle or you can have somebody drop you off, or take a shuttle if your hotel provides one: Margaritaville and Embassy Suite both provide one. Front desk will call for you, however you won't know the wait time till then.

They spend quite a bit of time going over basic stuff and a waiver. This was my first time at the park but I have surfed in the ocean. I am not a beginner but I am not exactly advanced either. I just wanted constant predictable waves so I can get better. I wish they would separate out those who have been before and know how to surf and we can get started while beginners do their thing. The advanced people can tweak their techniques with the help of the pros while the beginners learn the basics. The wave pool is fresh water so already it is different. Salt water makes the board more buoyant and the bigger waves have more energy. It seems counterintuitive, but is actually easier to surf in the ocean's bigger waves. At Typhoon Lagoon, I fell my first couple times. The instructors said it just takes a couple of tries to get used to the fresh water and they were right. Before you know it, I was easy riding. They provide water, juice, fruit, pastries and coffee. I wish the food included breakfast burritos because for some reason, it is the breakfast of choice for surfers. They provide only a small towel, so I recommend bringing your own. Photos are also included with the price so you get lots of cool looking pro pics, which unfortunately also include wipeouts. The pros from Coco Beach Surf School were great and lots of fun. If I were staying longer at WDW, I would take advantage of this and do it everyday it is offered or get a good group together and have an evening private event.
