We have been wanting to visit this winery for a few years and finally made it! It was worth the wait!!! We came for a lunch tasting experience and were not disappointed! Our wine steward was Alexa and despite her being new, she did a wonderful job!!! What she didn't know, she found out in a timely fashion. She was helpful and informative without being overbearing or a nuisance. Plus, she was her naturally charming self. All her lunch and wine suggestions were spot on! We went there on Father's Day and it was not what we had hoped for in a winery lunch. It was noisy and raucous. Yes, people were having a good time. That made it more like a pub. If that's what you're looking for, this might be the place. The server was unable to give us a wine pairing suggestion for our meal, which was fine but not special. So where to begin....its really unfortunate because it was a nice winery. We came here today for their special Mother's Day brunch that we had made reservations for awhile ago. We drove all the way from Ripon, Ca (3 hrs away). Our reservations were for 11am. We got to the vineyard at 11am and the parking lot was chaotic. Some lady came out and redirected us to turn around and follow the other cars down the hill to park elsewhere due to limited space. The event was supposed to to be all you can drink mimosas (but we were limited at the door to one, and they told us that they couldn't honor it because it was a mistake made by the marketing team). They had what they called a "grazing table" which consisted of 4 bowls of soggy fruit and pudding (which was completely out within an hour) and a couple trays of chocolate dipped strawberries, burned muffins and tarts. Nothing else. It was really sad looking. Ok so we sat and waited with our kids who were getting pretty hungry at this point. The food did not come out until 1:15pm(over 2 hours!). Up until this time we asked staff where the food was, etc...there were only 3 or 4 workers who told us they couldn't do much and they seemed frantic. They didn't even want to look at us and some would walk by and pretend not to hear us. We were not the only table with this problem. The whole venue was buzzing with astonishment of how this brunch was a complete disaster. More than half of the venue (a few hundred) were still waiting for their food. People were angrily leaving without eating after hours of waiting. Some other tables were seated well after us and got food before us (it was a mess). And then other tables were sharing their food with some elderly guests who were really hungry and had been waiting for a while as well. By noon I guess the next bunch of reservations were trying to come in and we did eventually hear them turn people away due to not being able to keep up with the event. It's crazy to think that with reservations, they would at least have an idea of the amount of guests that they were working with and would be able to accommodate. This snowballed into ruining other things. We had to cancel our other reservations for a special wine tasting we had planned for our Mother's Day outings due to time wasted on waiting for the food. And lastly, when the food did come out, it was not that good. We looked around as we left and you could see piles of food left on tables, uneaten by the other guests. What a mess this brunch was. Never have we been to a brunch this chaotic and horrible. They really need to reimburse the guests or do something to make up for this...or consider a lot of lost customers plus more. It was insane. This place was unbelievable. This was the final stop for my birthdays and they did a phenomenal job. Our waitor was Josh and he provided all the drinks necessary with a good speech and made sure that if we need to taste the others again that we could. Also he surprised me with a chocolate cake with a candle for my birthday which was great. To top it off gave me an extra taste of wine to compliment the cake. Cass Winery is located in the Paso Robles hills and easy to find. The grounds are nice and very serene. They offer food and have a restaurant. We enjoyed the crab cakes while we wine tasted on the patio. We tasted about six tastes which included a white and some reds. None of their wines stood out to me as a wine I would buy. I came back again but this time they had the tasting room open and thus a different menu (no truffle fries). I love the fries so much, I bought the wine membership because that was the only way to get them - we got 6 red wines which cost about 230$ but it also includes unlimited wine tastings for you and 4 others on top of the wine shipment, 20% off the food as well as the bed and breakfast stays. I like their selection of white wines, but their red wines in the traditional tasting list vs reserve are very different in quality and I would opt for the $25 reserve tasting rather than the $15 just because of that. Wine was ok and the ambiance was really nice with tables and open space for dogs. The outdoor pizza oven was cool but the pourer and service in general was lacking. Love, love, loooove this winery. The outdoor area is perfect for tasting and lunch! The grounds are so pretty and kept up so well. Wish I had had more time to explore, but definitely will be back to do so. Their tasting comes with several wines to taste which were all great. The menu really has something for everyone and everything tasted delicious. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner who was so fun and friendly too, I thought that was really cool he was so in tune with his winery and those who were visiting. Went to this winery first since they had a restaurant and we were hungry. Very nice outdoor seating on patio, next to garden and vineyards. There was some sort of filming going on and they were noisy, but the girl who waited on us assured they would be done soon and they were. When we said we both wanted pizzas, she mentioned the film crew was still filming making pizzas, and if we were really set on it she would "make it happen". As it turns out it all worked in our favor and not only had a great pizza lunch in a beautiful outdoor setting, but good wine as well! Definitely recommend this out of the way vineyard! read more

Beautiful venue & delicious wines. Took away a star because although the food was good, the portions were on the smaller side. Took away another star because their tasting menu states, "tasting menu - 2 -$20. Waived with a 2+ bottle purchase." Any one normally reading that would assume that if they purchased a minimum of 2 bottles of wine, their tasting fee per person would be waived. Not so. It wasn't until after we purchased 2 bottles of wine that we noticed only 1 tasting was comped. When we reached out to management we were told, "If you and your husband shared one tasting, a 2 bottle purchase would have (and very much should have) waived the one tasting fee.   If you both enjoyed a tasting, it would have required a 4+ bottle purchase to waive both fees (so 2 bottles waives one tasting fee, four bottles waives two tasting fees, six bottles waives three, etc), so you would have been comped for one tasting and paid for the other." Such a nice afternoon. We rolled in to town early afternoon and had not had lunch yet. We had scheduled a tasting and called since we were an hour early and they were very accommodating and took us early. The food was delicious! We also did a wine tasting and we enjoyed the wines so much we joined the club! My wife is usually a white wine drinker but since Cass is heavy on the red side she totally enjoyed branching out and what they offered. Our server was Cat and she could not have been nicer and more attentive. We had some nice conversation that rounded out the experience. The setting and property are beautiful and we felt very comfortable and relaxed. We will be back on our next Paso trip. read more

Been to Paso robles several times but this time looking for a nice lunch plus wine tasting. Cass was great. The wines were nice didn't taste any wine we didn't like. We had the Figgy piggy pizza which was just the right amount of fig jam can taste but not overwhelming. The crust was perfect crunch with the right amount of char and our tasting person /waiter Mason was great, nice sense of humor but also knowledgeable about the wines. Cozy atmosphere for dinning, larger event center is down the road. Everything is new, recently constructed. I've been to this place 5-6 times since I'm a member and live near by. I've seen the owners running around having fun half the time. Pretty down to earth guys! Great food, and they just finished a little hotel area using containers. Literally had a 10 minute tasting here. Our horseback ride at Cass Vineyards went longer than expected and I had a lunch reservation at another winery 30 minutes away but I wanted to check out Cass winery since we had the vouchers from the horseback riding. Staff were all so friendly and accommodating. We each got a flight and they were quick to go through the whole tasting. We really enjoyed the 2020 Roussanne white wine so we bought that and got a chocolate gelato to go (it's a bit rich so strawberry would probably have been a better choice).
