Stuck in New York in a snowstorm this weekend and needed some place to eat. We walked for blocks and saw the glowing lights of Rosie Dunn's from across the street. We went in to find the place packed with people talking and laughing. Such a cozy atmosphere on a snowy day. The staff was incredibly friendly. Great selection of Irish Fair along with American options. We tried two of their salads which were delicious. Highly recommend trying this cute little place whether you're from the area or just visiting. read more

Happy hour here is the spot!! $7 well drinks and wine, $1 oysters, plus more. Our experience was excellent sitting at the bar. I love that it is decorated to feel like fall. Service was attentive and picked up empty glasses and plates quickly. read more

Pretty cute Irish pub in midtown near Grand Central Station, so very easy to get to. They have both bar seating and tables in the back. There's also an upper level. Drinks were reasonably priced and service was pretty fast, but depends on how crowded it gets inside. read more

This is a nice neighborhood spot that seems to get pretty crowded after work. They have a weekday happy hour from 5-7 for $5 on bud light and Shocktop, $10 wines and other stuff. We came in on a Sunday evening and it was pretty quiet. Kind of charming actually because of the Victorian decor. They had the NFL football game on but it definitely was not the sports bar crowd at the time. Food isn't bad. Buffalo cauliflower had too much breading on it and tasted more like a hush puppy than the cauliflower, which was what we craved. I liked their special of the day, the penne alla vodka with fried chicken. Real good vodka sauce. I'll need to come back to try their classic dishes next time. read more

Not reliable for business meetings. We booked a business society meeting 3 weeks beforehand. Had a confirmation from the catering manager. Offered to pay a deposit to hold the space and was told it was not necessary. We called 3 days before to pre-order food for our group and was told that they gave our space to a larger group last minute. Had we not called we would have shown up with a group of 30 stuffed into a meeting in the bar as opposed to the private space we reserved. We had to cancel our event 2 days out that we had planned weeks before. If you have a group meeting that is 30 or fewer you could get bumped with no notice for a larger group they want to accommodate. I won't be using or recommending them for any future meetings. read more

I have been here twice so far for work happy hours. They are always accommodating and let us go upstairs to the rooftop bar. Yesterday we went and they let us go up at 345, even though It opened at 4. We always split apps, have drinks & a great time. They have happy hour from 5-7. I was told by a neighbor that this midtown pub had good cheeseburgers. The food is good but there seems to be some inconsistencies with the pricing. The cheeseburger is priced $17.50 on the menu and $18.50 on the website. The menu says "burger with your choice of cheddar, swiss or bacon". I visited on two occasions and ordered a swiss cheeseburger and in both instances I was charged $2.00 extra for the swiss cheese. I am starting to think this is not an oversight but rather intentional. As I don't want to ask about this every time I visit, I will support another pub in the future. read more

Very cute place for lunch or diner. Clean friendly service. Had the Irish stew and Philly cheesesteaks. The stew had excellent gravy and tender beef but the vegetables seemed over cooked. Came here to watch the World Cup final with some friends, and we got some different dishes to share as our brunch. Prices for the serving portions were a little bit high in my opinion, but I don't go to a lot of pubs in this area so it could be normal. This place was a great find! We had finished up dinner and were looking for a night cap and stumbled upon this place playing some live music. The music was pretty loud for a small place but the crowd (and us) were loving it. Bartender was nice and pretty attentive and there was a good vibe. If you're a whiskey fan they have them all! We were looking for an Irish pub and came across this gem. Food was great. The ambience was reminiscent of our trip to Ireland. The service was amazing. We decided to try this little spot for dinner. I got the bangers and mash (sorry no picture), they got the fish and chips and french onion soup. Soup was flavorful, fish and chips light and fresh tasting and the bangers and mash were good. Only one server running front of house. Came here earlier this week with some friends, was very crowded and we had a decent group but they offered to bring us outside and it was nice enough so we agreed. Service is good, drinks choices and happy specials are simple but decent. I ordered their grilled chicken club which was good, get their aioli sauce with it. Only regrets were the zucchini fries, which were more link little tempura strings, my friends' french fries and sweet potato waffle fries were much much better. Love Rosie Dunn's! Service is quick and friendly, fantastic atmosphere, and it's just a beautiful bar. Will definitely be in my regular rotation going forward. The upstairs, especially, is so unique and fun - great view from the wall of windows facing 3rd ave. It would be absolutely perfect for planning a group event there! And perfect spot to meet up with friends! Note: I hadn't realized that this is owned by Niall, of "Niall's" - the pub on 52nd street. Makes sense now because I love that place too!
