This is an update to my first review. I had hoped to return to a cleaner salon, but it was even dirtier than the first time I visited. In addition to the filth, my nail tech used unsanitized tools for my manicure and pedicure...a health violation. I don't understand why it is so difficult to clean the salon. There were a few techs just sitting around on their phones who could have picked up a towel and started cleaning. The amount of filth in this salon is from months, if not years, of accumulation. Clipped, old toe nails laying everywhere, clumps of dust on the floors, and dirty tools are disgusting and unacceptable in an business that should be sterile. I'm hoping and praying that I don't get an infection from my experience. I will never return. Do yourself a favor, go somewhere else. read more

I came here for a gel pedicure since I've been here other times and liked it. The lady who did my nails ( I didn't get her name) asked me if I wanted "super short". I said no , just a little bit shorter and square shape. I purposefully let my nails grow for this appointment and I walked out with my nails as short as can be and not the shape I wanted either. This salon is very hit or miss. Some days they take you right at your appointment time, and other days you may end up waiting 30 minutes or more. A few of the techs do a great job, but most are just average. I've been coming here for a while, and the experience is inconsistent each visit. Extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Castle Nail Salon in Aliso Viejo. I had my nails done by Hoa, and she didn't even apply a top coat. As a result, the polish on the tips started fading by the next day. One of the nails also had a visibly messed-up side from the beginning. I took photos and called the salon right away, letting them know I'd be back Saturday to have it fixed. When I showed up today, they told me it would cost $25 just to re-polish, and they would only "touch up" the one nail Hoa messed up--despite the overall poor quality of the work. I've been a regular customer here and always tipped generously ($10+), but this experience was beyond disappointing. Their only response was, "That's our policy." There was no effort to make things right or take responsibility for a rushed, incomplete job. Needless to say, I walked out and won't be coming back. read more

I started coming here when I relocated to Aliso Viejo a few months ago. I've always had a great experience here. I used to just walk in without an appointment and they would be able to accommodate. I was lucky to be able to get Rachel the last few times when I walked in & now I specifically call to make an appointment with her. She always does such an amazing job, making sure its how you like it and takes her time to making sure its perfect. My dip nails last a while too - I go in about every 4 weeks for a new set. I'm loving the new set she did for me a few days ago. Showed her a picture of an inspo and she picked all the colors and it came out looking better than the picture I showed her!! Huge fan! Came here for the first time today. I tried two nail salons before. The first one wouldn't sit me with my daughter and the second place had a 2 hr wait. I came here and was able to sit with my daughter and was taken straight away. We came for my daughter's 8th birthday as a special treat. The ladies were so lovely and sweet. They went over the top giving my daughter the perfect nails she dreamed up. They added sparkle, all the colors and designs she could ask for. They even brought her a lollipop and a cookie. I wish there was an e-mail i could send this to versus posting photos for all to see. My in laws live in AV and I found this place and loved it. I come here every few months when we visit and I usually dont have any issues. I do the dip manicure and it lasts around 3-3.5 weeks. Unfortunately, this last time I went was not good. I don't want to say the technicians name on here but she wasn't doing things I was used to. She didn't dip the nail into any powder before using the color, was rushing, cut my skin on every nail from using A new Brillo pad, and didn't have me wash my hands before putting the top coat on. I take partial blame for not speaking up. Anyway, $50 down the drain. This is less than a week after service, I'll probably just go somewhere else or get them done before I come to town. read more

Love this place. I always see Rachel, although I think everyone is probably really good. Gossip level is way low. It's always clean and everyone is nice. Rachel never gets mad at me and I come in with all sorts of ideas. I grow my nails long, cut them down, put acrylics on them, take the acrylics off and decide to do dip. You name it. I found this salon by accident when my other salon that i had started to go to was always super busy and I could not book an appointment. Every time I go in they are very prompt. very rarely do I make an appointment. The wait time is usually very reasonable. I always get a dip manicure which is usually around $40-$50 and then I get a regular pedicure. They have lots of options in price points for pedicures - So you can choose between a basic pedicure or if you want to treat your self, they also have an option for that. I am always very happy when I leave the salon. They do charge for little extra services like shaping your nails and cuticle removal, but that's pretty standard in this area. Overall, i have found castle nails to be the most convenient and reasonably priced salon in the area that also does good work. I'm sad that we are leaving the area and will need to find a new salon. read more
