I came here for a gel pedicure since I've been here other times and liked it. The lady who did my nails ( I didn't get her name) asked me if I wanted "super short". I said no , just a little bit shorter and square shape. I purposefully let my nails grow for this appointment and I walked out with my nails as short as can be and not the shape I wanted either. This salon is very hit or miss. Some days they take you right at your appointment time, and other days you may end up waiting 30 minutes or more. A few of the techs do a great job, but most are just average. I've been coming here for a while, and the experience is inconsistent each visit. Extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Castle Nail Salon in Aliso Viejo. I had my nails done by Hoa, and she didn't even apply a top coat. As a result, the polish on the tips started fading by the next day. One of the nails also had a visibly messed-up side from the beginning. I took photos and called the salon right away, letting them know I'd be back Saturday to have it fixed. When I showed up today, they told me it would cost $25 just to re-polish, and they would only "touch up" the one nail Hoa messed up--despite the overall poor quality of the work. I've been a regular customer here and always tipped generously ($10+), but this experience was beyond disappointing. Their only response was, "That's our policy." I started coming here when I relocated to Aliso Viejo a few months ago. I've always had a great experience here. I used to just walk in without an appointment and they would be able to accommodate. I was lucky to be able to get Rachel the last few times when I walked in & now I specifically call to make an appointment with her. She always does such an amazing job, making sure its how you like it and takes her time to making sure its perfect. My dip nails last a while too - I go in about every 4 weeks for a new set. I'm loving the new set she did for me a few days ago. Showed her a picture of an inspo and she picked all the colors and it came out looking better than the picture I showed her!! Huge fan! Came here for the first time today. I tried two nail salons before. The first one wouldn't sit me with my daughter and the second place had a 2 hr wait. I came here and was able to sit with my daughter and was taken straight away. We came for my daughter's 8th birthday as a special treat. The ladies were so lovely and sweet. They went over the top giving my daughter the perfect nails she dreamed up. They added sparkle, all the colors and designs she could ask for. They even brought her a lollipop and a cookie. I wish there was an e-mail i could send this to versus posting photos for all to see. My in laws live in AV and I found this place and loved it. I come here every few months when we visit and I usually dont have any issues. I do the dip manicure and it lasts around 3-3.5 weeks. Unfortunately, this last time I went was not good. I don't want to say the technicians name on here but she wasn't doing things I was used to. She didn't dip the nail into any powder before using the color, was rushing, cut my skin on every nail from using A new Brillo pad, and didn't have me wash my hands before putting the top coat on. I take partial blame for not speaking up. Anyway, $50 down the drain. This is less than a week after service, I'll probably just go somewhere else or get them done before I come to town. read more

Love this place. I always see Rachel, although I think everyone is probably really good. Gossip level is way low. It's always clean and everyone is nice. Rachel never gets mad at me and I come in with all sorts of ideas. I grow my nails long, cut them down, put acrylics on them, take the acrylics off and decide to do dip. You name it. The last 2 times I've been here, I've been pretty disappointed in the quality of work. Last weekend I asked for Ombré power dip which I've gotten multiple times here. I found this salon by accident when my other salon that i had started to go to was always super busy and I could not book an appointment. Every time I go in they are very prompt. very rarely do I make an appointment. The wait time is usually very reasonable. I always get a dip manicure which is usually around $40-$50 and then I get a regular pedicure. They have lots of options in price points for pedicures - So you can choose between a basic pedicure or if you want to treat your self, they also have an option for that. I am always very happy when I leave the salon. They do charge for little extra services like shaping your nails and cuticle removal, but that's pretty standard in this area. Overall, i have found castle nails to be the most convenient and reasonably priced salon in the area that also does good work. I'm sad that we are leaving the area and will need to find a new salon. read more

I have going into Castle Nails for the last two years. Every time I go in I wait whether I have an appointment or not. But most of the time the service is worth the wait. I was in on Sunday 8/14/22 and it was the worst service I have ever received in any nail salon. I arrived at my appointment time of 1130. I sat until 12, when I complained she told me that she would have two people work on me. The lady doing my feet cut the top of my foot with the foot sander because the man who was working on my nails sat on a table and broke it so she was paying attention to him and grinding the top of my foot. The man who was doing my nails did not want to do what I wanted he told my nails were long enough so I didn't need to add tips. So he would add the tip just on my broken nail. Then while doing my cuticles he cut one of my fingers so bad it bled the entire time he was working on my nails. So every time he painted and then dipped it would burn. Basically that jar of dip powder is now contaminated because my blood is in there! Neither one of them apologized for the injuries and then charged me extra for the cuticle cutting and the tip (would have been less if I just got the tips on all my nails as I requested). He did a terrible job on my nails they are uneven and rough in some spots. It's been 2 days and one nail is already looking like it will lift. I will not be returning to a salon that I liked because of their total disregard for hurting me not once but twice and then charging me more than I ever have paid was unacceptable. When I tried to break a 20 to give them tips (I am a good customer) he took and just said thank you. Sir, you did not deserve a $10 tip, but I said "You know what that's fine cause I won't be back" I am actually a really good tipper so it sucks for the ones I have had in the past that are really good. read more

I am not one to write a bad review, but I guess there is a first time for everything. I wanted to start off with saying that I have been a frequent customer at Castle Nails for years. I have normally been satisfied with the services, and love the medieval decor. Today was a very different experience. First, when I picked my color for my pedicure, the manicurist tried to convince me to add sparkles to it not once, but 3 times. I thought that was strange because I politely said I just wanted the one color on all 3 occasions. The pedicure experience was not great. She kept forcefully positioning my feet which was not relaxing in the slightest. In fact at times, it was a bit painful. When I kindly asked if I could have my nails trimmed she seemed to be annoyed and ignored my request. I ordered a Royal pedicure, and not all the services were completed. The massage was timed for 10 minutes, and the manicurist spent most of it walking around the salon and changing her gloves. I thought she would extend my massage time after the timer beeped because of this, but no, she ended the massage immediately. When the pedicure was over, she pretty much shoved my keys and purse in my arms, which was really awkward and unexpected. I have never had that happen to me. Usually the manicurist offers ample time to relax and wait for my polish to dry. This time it seemed that she was trying to push me out the door. When I got home, I realized that the pedicure was not done well, after I paid for the service and gratuity. I'm super bummed because I am going to have to go get either a polish change right away or even a whole full service pedicure. Because of this I will not be going back, which is unfortunate. I write this only to provide feedback so hopefully the business can correct this issue and not lose more long-time or future customers. read more
