We checked out Meows Rakuen cafe since we saw their neon sign a few months ago. It's such a relaxing place and they have a colorful and cute interior space. I enjoyed how relaxing it was, the cats were so cute. They do a great job in providing updates on which cat got adopted. We were able to give treats to the cats, it was a great experience!!!Hope all the cats get adopted .Customer service was great as well!!! Thank you .

Came here on a whim after having lunch across the street. It's sort of hidden on the second floor at the end of the business building's inner courtyard but once you find it, it's a very cute little space. It has a partnership with Spoon downstairs where they get their drinks made. They use two doors to make sure the cats don't escape. This is also a shoes off place, which keeps the place cleaner. There are many cats, most 9 months old, and all are adorable and adoptable. Being so young, they are still very active and enjoy being played with. All were shorthaired and a standard tabby or mix breed. The cat towers, chairs, and cushions are very cute and themed. The seats are situated so you are close to the floor. There is a strong smell when entering but they try to keep it down by propping open a door with a screen and running a humidifier. Our hostess was sweet and since it was our first time, she made it clear how it worked so there were no confusion. She doesn't monitor your time - it is up to you to keep track. After the first 20 min, it's $0.60/min. Recommend it for a date spot or if you want to chill with some active kitties.

This is my first experience at a cat cafe and certainly won't be my last. It's in Gardena in the second floor of a building that has plenty of parking. The cats are pretty young and so adorable. They're friendly and playful and well adjusted to humans. The decorations are so cute and the kittens are all available for adoption. It's just so clever and a fun way to spend some time doing something different and relaxing and joyful. You can buy various beverages and also snacks either for yourself or treats for the kitties and that was the best because they just swarm to you if they hear the little tub of treats coming out. Be prepared to fall in love

This is a very overdue review for such a wonderful addition to Gardena! Meows Rakuen is tucked away on the 2nd floor of a business plaza on Redondo Beach Blvd and Denker Ave. The website indicates it's above Spoon House but it's not directly above it. I want to say it's above the karate studio or dog grooming. Anyway, before you enter the cafe, there is a sign with information on the cost, what's available to drink, and their hours of operation. You can see some of the cats resting in some of the beds by the window. Once you enter the cafe, it's very, very clean so shoes are taken off at the door. You choose the amount of time you want to stay, order drinks if you like, then your time with the cats begin! There were about five to six cats there and they all looked very well cared for and comfortable. Some were playful but most of them wanted to nap and it was later in the afternoon when I went so I'm sure they all had a full day by then. The cats are all rescues and the cafe owner is truly passionate about rescuing and caring for these beautiful cats. I didn't purchase a drink but I made a donation and got plenty of face time with all the lovely cats. If you are a cat lover or maybe even a casual cat person, this is a very relaxing activity to do alone or with a friend. It's quiet inside and it's a nice escape from work or school. I'm sure you could bring a book or something to work on while you pet the cats or just enjoy being in their presence. Do give them a visit! You won't regret it.

So much fun and for a great cause. You do need to reserve online for your time spot. When you reserve, you will need to reserve for both an adult and child. We reserved for an 45 min of play which was about 50.00 for an adult and child. This is not a private play time and can be shared with up to 8 other people depending on who books at that time. When you arrive, there is a little tiny room that you wait in until your reservation is confirmed. Once in, at this time, they had about eight cats, all of which were once strays. Many of the cats were kittens, or younger than 2 years. They have colored bands around their neck to identify them, and there is a chalkboard on the wall that tells you their age in their name. All of the cats are up for adoption, or pending adoption. You can purchase treats and snacks for the cats for an additional price as well. One hour was a great time frame for a kid. They also do birthday parties.

I don't usually write reviews but this place was too cute not to! My friend and I went a few days ago and the kitties were chill and well behaved. There was just one lady working there but she was super nice and accommodating. They have a small selection of beverages and only offer food to feed to the cats. You have to take your shoes off before you enter the main room. There's a selection of toys you can choose from to play with the cats. It was very enjoyable and we would go again :)

This is by far my favorite cat cafe ever. It's on the smaller side, but the cats are pretty friendly and available for adoption. We usually go after eating at Spoon House downstairs to wind down. The price is good, it's very clean and doesn't smell. You can buy simple drink items and donate to get cat treats for the cats. Love this place.

The room was small, and most of the cats were asleep. It was 12 dollars for the first twenty minutes, however we did not know it was for each person. Plus, the only cats out were being hogged by people or just asleep! The cats were very cute but the experience was underwhelming and overpriced.

Mayumi does a wonderful job fostering these cats. They are all well taken care of, groomed, and super social. It really looks like a cats ideal playground. We finally adopted our little girl Kinako Mochi (previously known as Sena) and we couldn't be happier with our decision. Because of Mayumi's love and care Kini adapted to her new home within an hour of us bringing her home. She truly is the perfect addition to our home. I would highly suggest people come and visit the cafe to play with these adorable cats and if you have the option to adopt - you will not regret it.

I'm so excited that this Cat Cafe is close by! Had a wonderful experience here. My cat recently passed away and I've been missing him so much that this visit was exactly what I needed. The cafe is sooooo clean and there are lots of air purifiers running. All of the cats were very friendly and you can tell how well they're taken care of with how gorgeous their coats are. If you purchase treats at the cafe to feed them, be prepared to have them climb all over you which is exactly what brought so much joy to my experience! You can also just lounge around without feeding them and they'll chill and just keep you company. There are also lots of toys if you want to engage with them. I will definitely be back here often! Oh and it happens to be on the second floor right above Spoonhouse Bakery one of my favorite places to dine, so what a perfect way to spend an afternoon visiting the cat cafe after lunch at Spoonhouse!

The people who work here are awesome and have a deep love for the kitties they care for. Their place is decked out with cat towers, toys, and best of all insanely cute kitties!!!! Like seriously, this might be the cutest room I have ever been in. It's also good to see that the cats have a human free zone where they can rest and use the litter box. Whoever set this up definitely planned it with the cats in mind first and foremost. There are plenty of places for the cats to climb, an array of comfy beds and windows to look out of. Me and my lady had the most fun date here. We booked an hour long session and we were the only humans present not on staff. I had no problem with that because it gave us free rein to pet and play with whoever we wanted. The cats were very sociable and adorable and I wish I could adopt them all. We were able to order some drinks, I got a black tea while my lady got a vanilla late. Both were delicious. We were also able to purchase cat treats to feed the cats and let me say: it worked, they loved us. It's really heartwarming to know that this place exists and is doing their best to help cats around the area. We will be back 100%. read more

This was my second time visiting a cat café, and this one seems to be run by family members, which gave it a really warm and welcoming feel. The place itself is very clean and well cared for, and I love that they are helping and supporting the cats. They also offer options to donate, which I really appreciated. That said, it was a bit pricey for the amount of time you get. It's $10 for every 20 minutes, and there weren't many cats during our visit. Since there were also quite a few people allowed in at once, I didn't really get much time to pet or interact with the cats. We ordered a latte, which was a little too sweet for my taste, but still enjoyable. The café itself is cute, though it was a bit hard to find and a little far from where I live. Overall, it's a sweet place and I do recommend checking it out and supporting them, especially since they're doing a wonderful thing for the cats. I personally probably wouldn't return due to the distance and pricing, but I'm glad I went and had the experience. read more

My first visit to a cat cafe. Very relaxing atmosphere. The cats/kittens were between 2mos-11 mos old. Recommend to buy their cat snacks. They will come close if they know you have food. The staff member was very friendly. Located on the second floor and only accessible by steep stairs frm inside the courtyard. (Same building as Sakae Sushi.) Must remove shoes and sign a waiver. It was enjoyable playing with the kittens. read more

A CAT CAFE in the SOUTH BAY!!!! What a dream come true! They are located upstairs above Spoon House. You can make a reservation on their website or you can try to do a walk-in. We walked in today around 2:00 PM and we had to wait about 5-10 minutes as they were at full capacity at the time. I think they can only take about 10 people at a time. First, they had us sign waivers and a minor consent form for our daughter. FYI, the minimum age to enter is 7 years old here. You have to take off your shoes before you come in so I would suggest wearing or bringing socks. It's $10 for the first 20 minutes and then 60 cents per minute thereafter. They also sell coffee/tea drinks but we didn't order any drinks this time. Overall, the space was a bit on the smaller side but very clean, colorful and cute!! The two ladies working were very nice. They just opened on June 1st so there were only 5 cats there today but they will have more cats soon! The cats there were all SOOO cute and friendly and active! They were all very young too, mostly kittens! They had several different cat toys for us to use to interact and play with them. We had so much fun and we will definitely be back! Oh my goodness, I haven't been to a cat cafe since a Japan trip but this is the cutest! Neighbors please support such a cute place, it is so well kept and clean. The wall and toys are so great for the cats and I believe they are also up for adoption?? This is a great place for people who are allergic to cats (my whole family) but we prepared and took allergy meds before, stayed only 20 minutes, then went home to change clothes and wash up and we were good! The love of cats is strong, lol! The cats are adorable, sweet and friendly. As long as you know somewhat how to handle cats and be gentle, they will approach you! There are lap cats and playful cats. I also enjoyed a mocha and it was awesome to sip while petting a sweet kitty on my lap. I want to be regulars! read more

Cuteness overload! The ladies working there were really nice. They get their cats from the shelter and this cafe socializes the kittens so they can be ready for adoption. I'm allergic to cats so this is a nice way to get my kitten fix. I just need to remember to take allergy meds before hand. Place was really clean. read more

Beautiful kittens, peaceful place to go and just relax and play with cats. Good menu of drinks, at a reasonable price. The lady there was the sweetest, very friendly and In her own world. This place was a fun way to spend an afternoon. However, holy moly it was expensive! I ended up spending over $100 for just 40 minutes with the cats. The cat treats were $10. The drinks were $2-$4 each. The place itself is very clean and does not smell like animals. None of the cats were super friendly, however, none were aggressive or tried to bite. If it was less expensive, I would be down to visit more frequently. read more

I love this cat cafe! All the kitties are so adorable and the drinks are good. The workers are also very friendly and show so much appreciation when you donate towards the kitties. The inside is clean and spacious. Definitely donate and get some treats to feed the kitties if you want them to hang around you! read more

I am obsessed with this adorable new spot in town! This cozy little cat café has cute kittens, comfy vibes, and drinks all in one charming space. The second you walk in, you're greeted with warm smiles (from the staff and the cats!) and the coziest atmosphere that makes you want to stay for hours. The kittens are beyond precious, playful, snuggly, and clearly so well cared for. This small business is clearly run by people who genuinely love animals and their community. If you're a cat lover, a coffee lover, or just someone who needs a dose of serotonin, this place is a must-visit. I will definitely be returning. It's not accessible at all in any way. If you're disabled it's probably best to go to another cat cafe. Waste of time and gas. Also, they don't list it anywhere so I thought the pictures were from the first floor but it's the second floor. Cute idea but they didn't have disabled patrons in mind. read more

I don't think I know of any other cat cafe in the South Bay LA area, so I was so happy to find out this place was newly opened! Tucked in the corner on the second floor of the building is a cute, clean cat cafe with all playful and energetic kittens. I really appreciated that it wasn't crowded with too many people at a time, so you can get enough time/attention from multiple kittens. Even the worker is friendly, willing to explain the process, and sincerely thankful when we donated. I'm looking forward to my next visit ‍ read more

I went here with my Grandma and we had a blast! There were about 7 kittens that were extremely playful and adorable. They all had their nails trimmed so no need to worry about any scratches. They have drinks on hand as well. Definitely planning on going back. The owner was extremely nice and accommodating! read more

We made a reservation for 4pm and we couldn't even go in. Apparently people can stay longer even thought they have reservations coming up. They cannot accommodate the reservation. What was the point of making a reservation if they can't even accommodate us. We drove an hour to come here just to be disappointed and told we couldn't even come in. They could have said that on their website so at least we could have know there might be a chance we wouldn't go in. Not very good business. This was very disappointing, I will definitely not recommend this place at all. read more

As an early riser in the ever growing cafe scene of the South Bay, and Gardena specifically, Junia has positioned itself as a community staple in the short time period since its doors first opened. This space is welcoming and draws you in to take a seat, have a drink, enjoy the company of both the regulars and the people stumbling across this place because of social media alike. My usual drink choices are the following: Matcha Grey, Iced Hojicha Latte, Toasted Vanilla Latte, and the Milky Pear Oolong if I crave some tea. The drinks are all well made and come out fairly quickly. There are days I even order drinks twice! Junia is a great addition to the South Bay community and I am excited to see how this place continues to grow!

Perfect amount of sweetness and balance. It's good to split with someone, and don't forget to get it heated up. When I'm feeling matcha, I get the Vienna matcha (with oat milk). It's really good. This place can get busy, so order ahead online if you don't want to miss out on treats. And don't forget your jacket. It's cold inside, as they need to cool the place for their espresso machine (or so I was told). They've changed up the chairs a bit to improve the ambiance, but it's more of a spot to grab a drink and go than hang out. My fav coffee shop in Gardena.

I ordered 2 drinks through the app yesterday, the Honey Bori Latte (seasonal) and the Banana Milk Latte. The Banana Milk Latte was delicious once everything was mixed well, but the Honey Bori Latte was just bitter and then less bitter when mixed. It was already half melted, there was no salted honey cold foam or Jolly Pong which is supposed to be part of the drink. I got the order to go, so I didn't notice that my drink was wrong until I got home, so I couldn't even get it corrected. I didn't realize the drink was wrong at first. I thought it was just a flavor I didn't like even though I noted that I couldn't taste Barley at all. Then half way throught it, I decided to look at the description on the app to remember what it was supposed to taste like because it tasted like an ordinary flavorless latte. The description said there's barley milk, salted honey cold foam and Jolly Pong. That's when it hit me that I either got the wrong drink or someone didn't make it right because there was no flavor of salted honey and definitely no Jolly Pong in my drink. It didn't even look like I had cold foam topping my drink, but maybe that's because it was melting already. Overall, I was very upset and disappointed with my drink, but was happy my mom's drink was fine. Now this is only a part of why I was dissapointed with yesterday's experience. The other reason was the app and workers. Maybe the workers aren't used to working with the Smoking Tiger app yet? Or maybe the app still needs work, but the drinks I ordered through the app took forever to be marked ready even though my drinks had been ready for some time which was obvious because my Honey Bori Latte was already half mixed because the layers of ingredients were melting into each other. I arrived at the cafe about 5 minutes after ordering, but the app's estimated wait time was another 10 minutes which wasn't a problem for me, especially since I saw a person waiting for his order and some people inside the cafe, although it wasn't full like usual. I just assumed some people ordered before me, so I just have to wait a bit, which again was fine with me especially since I was waiting for my mom to arrive. At some point after the one person waiting for their drink left, I realized the 2 girls at the counter were just talking and not making any drinks. I checked the app and it still said my order was being prepared. After 2 more people ordered their drinks and received them immediately, I went up to the counter, by this point it had been the app's estimated 10 minute wait. I told the girl with glasses my name and showed her the order on my phone. Then she walked toward the fridge and got my drinks, put them in a drink carrier, passed them to me and then turned around while looking at the receipt paper that was with the drinks. That was it. She didn't tell me which drink was which and they were not labeled, so my mom and I just had taste them to figure out which was which. At most places, they let you know which drink is which, so I was just confused with the service I received, especially when the place wasn't busy. And to top it all off, my order was marked completed 10 minutes after I received my order which again just left me in confusion. I usually love this place and was saddened when they got rid of their Choco Mugwort drink, but I'm always looking forward to their seasonal drinks and baked goods. This time though, I don't think I was even able to taste one of their new seasonal drinks because it tasted like a regular latte with milk. I want to try their other current seasonal drinks, but I'm also worried about what I will receive in the future and I'm not ready for another disappointing coffee any time soon.

That's what made me like them. It really makes them unique. One time an elder came in who was a bit confused about the menu and they were so sweet to him, they even covered his drink. It melted my heart. It has been getting pretty busy here, though. Lots of students from El Camino use it as a study space so make sure to bring headphones.

I continued to yell back at them, explaining that there were absolutely no hash browns in my omelette and I want a refund for the hash browns immediately. Finally, after making me yell and argue with them for probably 3 minutes in front of the whole restaurant, she finally agreed to refund the $3. Horrible service, and dishonest. They tried everything they could to not give me a refund when there was no hash browns and I paid for them. Worst service ever.

Their specialty is Thai breakfast, with an assortment of rice and noodle dishes like Khao Soi, Thai Omelette, Thai-Style Hainan Chicken, etc. However, for all the dishes I have tried here, I always find myself coming back for the Thai Omelette! There's a kick of nostalgia whenever I eat here, and I love the feeling you get when eating the food here. If you ever need your fix, come here first and come back for more!

My go-to items are the Thai Omelette with Shrimp, Roast Duck Noodle Soup, Tom Yum noodle soup, and Cha Manao which is Thai Tea with Lime. Gardena has so many great restaurants and Sweet Rice is such a great addition to the community! The plaza that it's in has other yummy restaurants and boba/dessert as well.
