Waitress was very nice but the food was not good. Do not order the queso. The chicken wings were also raw. The sushi was meh. The spicy shrimp appetizer was good though! We went here for a late dinner and were seated right away. The service was fantastic, our waitress was attentive, caring and very sweet. Our table ordered the seafood boil, the crab bucket and the folly rolls. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Our waitress for the birthday we were celebrating she brought out a slice of the peanut butter pie and they sang. She even helped us take some cute photos at the end of our evening. Let me start by saying service was fine. I don't know who's leaving these reviews but the fact it's Charleston I guess they don't get many outside the state visitors. We came here believing that we would have fish for the 3 days we would be staying here. So far all our fish dinners have been horrible. Lived in NY 50 years and have been here in SC for 12 years. Stayed in downtown Charleston couple of years ago food was amazing. Stayed away from Foley Beach if you're looking for good fish. My wife ordered the Mahi with rice and broccoli. I got the burger with fries. Burger was excellent. Only issue was ketchup. Didn't have Heinz. Something called Roma. Not a fan. Back to the fish. Mahi was dry. Broccoli and rice no seasoning or flavor of any kind. Our server said Mahi had Cajun seasoning and my wife told her to let chef know she would like it not too heavy on Cajun. Horrible. We also ordered calamari. It was nothing but thin slices of calamari with a ton of rancid breading. Horrible. By looking at the pictures we saw and the highly written reviews we decided to eat there for my wife's birthday. Giant mistake. Ambiance very casual which was fine. Very beach friendly. read more

I met three girlfriends there and none of us had been before two were from Boston. Two of us were local. I gave it a three because of the food. I ordered the grilled chicken burger and the french fries were cool and soft. The bottom was completely soaked. Below average the two girls from Boston got sushi and they loved it. My other friend who is local ordered the salmon which was cooked perfectly but both the rice and the broccoli were cold. I will say that our server was awesome. She had an unusual line like LEDDY. She checked on us just at the right time and was very attentive and sweet. The vibe was pretty good. I was disappointed that they did not offer any levity drinks like everyone else on the beach. I probably won't go back, but I am glad that I went just to check it out. read more

Would not recommend. I've worked in this industry for years and the service was horrible. Waitress never once refilled our waters, had to go get our drinks directly from the bar ourselves because our waitress couldn't be bothered. She then proceeded to tell us the restaurant did not carry bbq sauce (which we kindly pointed out to her on the menu). Additionally, we ordered shrimp which was covered in a spicy sauce (this was not specified on the menu at all). When we brought it up to our waitress, she brought out her manager who told us that they would remake our shrimp and removed it from our bill. However it was not removed from our bill! Obviously we were fully willing to pay full price, however we did not appreciate the manager lying to us. The food was fine but I do not recommend giving them your service. read more

We visited Folly Beach for a four day weekend. Of all the 5 restaurants we went to this was our best experience. The host, server and staff were all very friendly even though they were busy. My daughter and I got sushi rolls that were amazing! My son loved his kids cheeseburger. My husband got a crab boil that was really good but he never got melted butter after asking twice. We started the day wanting to have a little lunch on the rooftop. I will say I do understand that this place is new, but we ran into a lot of issues. First, we waited for menus and service for 25 minutes, even after us going up to the bar bar and asking for menus. Then, the soda was flat and we had to wit another 15 minutes for new soda, which was also flat. We switched to sweet tea after this. Then, we were able to put in our order with our waiters which were actually very nice. Seems like they need some more training or more servers. Food wise, the burger was very very dry, but the apps were good - we got hush puppies and fried pickles. There was also a weird piece of meat in my fries. When we got our food, we had no silverware or napkins so we had to go wait at the bar for that too. Ambiance was great, we just were not expecting to be sitting here for multiple hours. read more

I have never left a bad review before, but after our experience at Catch 23, I had to share. We walked in to put our name down for a table of 6 (there were 4 total tables taken at the time with several open tables available) and were told there would be a 20 minute wait. The host took our name and phone number and said they would contact us as soon as they could. 45 minutes later we checked back in as we had not heard anything. The host had no explanation of why we had not received a text nor for the quoted wait time. Instead, we were sat at one of the many open tables without another word. Our server came to the table after 10-15 minutes and took our drink order. We ordered appetizers and entrees, which came out promptly. However, we only saw our server when the food was ordered and delivered. They did not come to check on us, refill our water, or remember to bring anything else that we asked to come with our food. We had to go find napkins. Go find soy sauce for the sushi and never had refills on empty water glasses. Our frustration lies again in the fact that the restaurant was nearly empty and there were many employees just standing around the whole time. We even had to go to the bar to get the check. An automatic gratuity was applied to the bill as well, which while we understand a potential policy for the restaurant, was the final straw for us as we essentially had to serve ourselves. Overall, we were extremely disappointed in our experience at Catch 23, and we will never return. read more

My daughter and I chose Catch 23 for lunch today during the Sand and Sea Festival in Folly BeachSC today. Even though the restaurant was quite busy, everyone went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. The Folly Burgers were fantastic, our drinks were great but our server, Kayla (KayKay) was the star of the show. She was friendly, knowledgeable about the food and she went the extra mile to be sure we were comfortable and enjoying our lunch. We also told one of the managers how much we enjoyed our lunch and how impressed we were with our server. We will be back as soon as we can be and look forward to dining at Catch 23 again! read more
