Delicious food!!! Crab cake was fantastic, cooked perfectly and the remoulade was the tastiest I've ever had. Our server Payton was amazing and so knowledgeable about the menu. The second floor indoors was cozy and comfortable! I would absolutely return when back in town for a visit!

The food was really good. It was priced super well for a Crab/Seafood shack. The flavor on the crab and shrimp was amazing. The service was good, and fast. We were seated quickly and got out good really fast. The Charleston Tea was great as well. Overall the restaurant had a great local-low country atmosphere, and is excellent mid-priced seafood.

Stopped in here for dinner after doing a little bar hopping and checking out downtown Charleston. After looking over the menu and the recommendations of our server, I settled on the Carolina Platter. The platter consist of steamed snow crab legs, a crab cake, grilled shrimp with collard greens and grits. The seafood on the platter was all correctly prepared and delicious. The collards and grits were good but otherwise unremarkable. The service was outstanding and our server was pleasant, knowledgeable and accommodating. Overall, I would recommend the Charleston Crab House and I would return when visiting the area.

My wife and I had a great lunch at this restaurant this past Saturday. On a beautiful sunny day in Charleston, we passed this place on our way down to the waterfront. The menu looked good so we made sure to stop here on our way back. There were open seats at the bar and March Madness was on TV so we sat down and ordered drinks. It's a nice menu here. We were looking for something light so we both ordered Crab Cake Sandwiches. I got mine with a side of Southern grits. The meals were excellent! The crab cake had a ton of flavor and the grits were just so good! This place is right across the street from the Charleston Market so if you get tired of shopping, give it a shot!

Service was great. Our waiter truly cared to get to know us which made our experience even better. The food was some of the best crab that I've ever eaten. It was wonderful. The only negative thing was it was a ton of food. The serving size was crazy but for $50 for a massive plate I guess it was worth it! We will definitely be back.

I'm a seafood lover, from New England. I was delighted to discover that my Mussels were among the best I've had: fresh, tender, and steeped in a delicious garlic broth. My colleagues loved their choices too. Our server was a character, and prompt and efficient. She helped make our visit fun. The ambiance was casual and welcoming - this place has seen many customers and will see many more. If you haven't tried CCH, give it a go.

February 16, 2026, Monday afternoon. Y'all... if you're in Charleston and you don't eat seafood on the water, are you even participating? We kicked things off properly. I ordered a Pusser's Painkiller -- tropical, smooth, dangerously drinkable. Jen went with the Spicy Paloma, which had just enough heat to remind you this isn't a cruise ship bar in the Caribbean. Strong start. Then came the She-Crab Soup. Listen. That bowl went down faster than a burning ship in the harbor. Creamy, rich, layered, a little sherry whisper doing grown-folk things. Absolute fire. If you're debating whether to order it -- stop debating. Jen had been talking about Lowcountry Shrimp & Grits for days. You don't fly into Charleston and pivot to chicken tenders. The grits were creamy, shrimp cooked right, sauce bringing that savory coastal depth. She was locked in from first bite. As for me? Seafood à la Wappoo. Because you can't post up in a place like this and not order seafood. When the harbor's right there, you lean in. It delivered -- generous, flavorful, and exactly what you want when you're in full coastal mode. Service was smooth, vibes were right, and the whole experience felt very "we're really here." If you're visiting Charleston: eat seafood. Drink something tropical. Order the soup. Repeat as necessary.

Oh my, so good! We didn't have any reservation but were able to get a table in 10-15 minutes. If you have a larger group I would suggested a reservation unless you are fine with waiting. The city market is across the street so you can walk through there while you wait. Oysters were very good! I didn't put any of the toppings on them as they tasted good just the way they were. My husband and I split the Crab House Crab Pot and it was the perfect amount! Everything tasted amazing and was seasoned perfectly! We cannot recommend this dish enough! So good!!

I love eating here when in Charleston! The food and service is always great! Seafood is top!

Delicious seafood in the heart of Charleston, next to the market. Their crab boil is amazing and super filling. The menu is large and something for everyone. I was seated upstairs, alone, which was a bit weird for service and vibes but overall I'd come back!

First time to Charleston and all I wanted was some good seafood after attending Credit One Bank Open. Naturally, I selected this place because I saw crab house and knew they would have a good selection of what I wanted. The place is located in the heart of Charleston and allows for pickup which was great because I was worn out from the si and watching tennis . I had the seafood platter and highly recommend it. Check the pics!

Food was good, I would say a 8/10, not a big portion, but decent size. The service was about a 9. Quick and fast. The waiter was good at their job, and ensured I had what I needed a few times. This is the 3-4th time I've eaten there, would definitely return.

Quite large ( and you got 2 shockingly) with the crispiest and very flavorful crust, then to bite into huge chunks of perfectly cooked crab. Heaven! The dish also came with mashed potatoes and perfectly cooked asparagus with a lovely sauce on the bottom of the plate.,I am critical of every asparagus I've had in a restaurant. Not these. It's not my favorite type of Mexican restaurant, as it's a little more upscale than I *personally* prefer, but if upscale Mexican is your vibe, then this'll be the perfect restaurant for you! They had an alright selection of beers, to include a couple of IPAs, but my friends and I didn't really enjoy their cocktails. They were expensive, but lacking in much flavor or zest. Besides looking cool, the taste didn't really match the aesthetic. Furthermore, the food was solid, but not that much better than your basic Mexican restaurant. As for the service, our waiter was nice enough, but he always seemed to be in a hurry, and was walking away while we were still trying to give our order. All-in-all, I'm probably making Matador sound worse than it was, but it was merely a slightly above-average Mexican experience, not a transcendental dining experience that I'll never forget. I'll give it 3/5 stars, and would recommend it based on your personal preference.

First we were told to grab a seat anywhere so we sat at the oyster shucking station. The man shucking oysters (forgot his name, sorry!) was super kind and very knowledgeable and got our oysters ready in no time. I ordered 6 raw oysters and my bf got 6 oysters steamed. Due to a small mixup in the kitchen, my bf's steamed oysters came out a bit late, however they were delicious according to him. My raw ones were fresh and sooooo yummy. It was also happy hour so each oyster was only $1.50. Best price in the area!!! We grabbed some other happy hour menu items: hushpuppies, peel and eat steamed shrimp, steamed clams, and we ordered a side snow crab cluster not on happy hour. Everything was DELICIOUS. We walked out of there feeling good about the money we spent and we now have a place to go to every time we are in town. The ONLY downside was our waiter. He's lucky I forgot his name because he was awful and had the personality of a doorknob. I almost wanted to speak to the manager about him because he brought the vibe down. Horrible customer service, doesn't know how to be professional, and even when I waved goodbye saying thank you with a huge smile he just stared at me and didn't say anything. He needs a talking to because it's not that hard to be kind to others or have a little personality, especially in the hospitality industry.

I didn't have to pry the oyster away from the shell, I got no grit, no broken pieces of shell and the oyster liquor was filled to the brim. All I had to do was tip those babies up and down the hatch they went. I trusted the shucker to give me two each of his top three choices and to say he came through was a complete understatement. We had two from Maine called Mosher Island. Delicious. Clean and sweet. Perfectly sized. Next came Lil Stoner from North Carolina. Even better if that's possible. I could have easily eaten a dozen. Love their cocktail and mignonette sauces, but these oysters did not need them whatsoever. And saving the best for last were Lowcountry Cups from South Carolina which had a briny kick to them that made my toes curl up! Seriously. I was sorry I had already ordered other items because I just wanted to keep indulging in those raw morsels of heaven. The crispy oysters were fine but all that sauce and sweetness detracted completely from the oyster itself which was fried perfectly. Next time, no sauce for me. Just did not require it. Same with the oyster po boy. Messy to eat because it had splashes of this and that and more. Those oysters just did not need it. Shrimp taco was quite good. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and they were a good value. Its seasoning didn't drown out the seafood flavor, just enhanced it. I can only imagine what their soft shell crab is like. Next year! The cocktails were great and the service was outstanding. Aiden could not have been nicer and we seriously had the best shucker known to man. I asked for his opinions and he knocked it out of the park. We just relocated to the area and are making our list for all the guests that are looking to visit.
