Disappointed at Catch - Not Worth the Hype We were in Miami for a long girls' weekend, and Catch was supposed to be our elevated dinner -- a highlight of the trip. Unfortunately, while the food was fantastic, the overall experience was far from it. Despite having reservations made over a month in advance, we were seated in a cramped, awkward space to the right of the bar. It felt completely disconnected from the main dining area -- no ambience, no atmosphere. It honestly didn't even feel like we were part of the restaurant. Later, we saw others that were brought to this area and they just refused to sit in that area. I suppose we could've done that especially given we had a reservation but we did not. Our server barely engaged with us throughout the evening. Outside of bringing the food, there was minimal interaction, and we couldn't help but wonder if that had something to do with the mandatory 20% gratuity. Service felt more like a checkbox than anything personalized or attentive. While the drinks were well-made, the price was jarring -- $70 for two cocktails (inc tax + tip). Even for Miami, that feels excessive unless you're getting top-tier service and environment, which we weren't. To top it off, the restrooms were disgusting -- toilets clogged, paper everywhere, and no sign of staff addressing the situation. It was a complete turnoff and not something you expect from a restaurant at this price point. Overall, I wouldn't recommend Catch. Save your time and money and opt for one of Miami's incredible local spots -- there are amazing Cuban and Latin restaurants that offer great food, vibrant atmosphere, and service that actually makes you feel welcome. read more

And overall we felt cramped sitting at the sushi bar- all the tables are stuffed together. While our server was polite and attentive, the service lacked the warmth and attentiveness I'd expect from a restaurant of this caliber. From the moment we arrived, the front door "security or manager" was so aggressive and disrespectful and the hostess was incredibly rude and dismissive, acting as though we were an inconvenience rather than valued guests. When we tried to address the issue politely with the manager, things only got worse. The manager was shockingly unprofessional and verbally aggressive, completely unwilling to hear us out or offer any resolution. This level of hostility from both the hostess and manager is absolutely unacceptable for a place that claims to offer a high-end dining experience. The aesthetic is gorgeous and moody, and is perfect for girls' night, date night, or even a solo night out when you want to feel cute and eat really good. The East Coast oysters were super fresh, the salmon belly nigiri with and truffle tomato was chef's kiss, and the wagyu gyozas were a must-have. The herb-roasted branzino over creamy vegetable basmati rice was perfectly cooked, and the Brussels sprouts with vinaigrette and dry miso were the perfect balance of crispy, sweet, and savory. We had a fantastic experience at this beautiful restaurant. The food and drinks were incredible, and the ambiance was exceptional--Catch truly deserves a five-star rating. Alejandra, the manager, greeted us and offered a complimentary appetizer, showing great consideration for my girlfriend's dietary restrictions. I'm honestly impressed with my experience at Catch. The interior design features a stunning wooden and dark green accents, creating a dark and vibey atmosphere. From the service to the food, everything was a 10/10. Our group ordered a bunch of items for the table, and everything was delicious. The steak skewers were a group favorite, with a hint of truffle that made us mouth-water and we had to order more. I personally loved the truffle mushroom pasta. I've been a loyal customer of Catch New York for years, so I chose this location to celebrate a birthday with a party of 14. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed. Our waiter, Michael A, along with another waiter (tall, brown hair, eyebrow ring), was incredibly rude to my guests. Their attitude made the experience uncomfortable and far from enjoyable. Despite spending $2,700, the service completely overshadowed the meal. While the food was great, service is just as important to me and my guests, and sadly, it was unacceptable. The food portions were ridiculously small--barely enough for a mouse--and we left the place still hungry.
