Visited Catch for the third time today, this time for their Sunday Brunch. Was there for two hours, my server I kid you not came by maybe a total of three times. Had no water the whole time there. It was a buffet style brunch, the food was just whatever, nothing crazy that blew me out of the water. I was most excited for the sushi since it was all you can eat. However, the sushi was honestly on the same scale as grocery store sushi, which sucks. I have never felt fleeced by a restaurant the way I felt at Catch. My wife and I eat at expensive restaurants all the time, and we enjoy a high quality meal and are happy to pay high prices to get it. But I have never seen anything like this. The food at Catch is good and the service is good and the ambience is good. BUT...most of the entrees are $95, which is insane. There are more than 10 restaurants in Miami Beach that have better food and better service and better ambiance that don't charge anything close to that. We ordered two appetizers, two entrees (we chose the only two that were less than $95 out of principle), one drink and one club soda and they bring the bill and it is $360. So I look and they charged me $68 for my Manhattan. So I pointed out the mistake to them, because I order Manhattans all the time and they usually cost around $25. And they explained to me that $68 is the price of a Manhattan at Catch. That's insane and if they are going to charge that much for one drink they should at least warn people in advance. I hate when people complain on here about prices at restaurants because normally you get what you pay for, but this place is ridiculous. Not close to worth it IMHO. read more

Phenomenal experience ! After being to catch New York and Vegas I was a bit nervous but this miami location did not disappoint. The ambiance is very cute chic, vibrant colors, perfect for pictures ! I'm big on hostesses and I'd like to say theirs were very sweet. How you're greeted already sets the mood for the meal you'll have . Service was attentive and fast- we did come to an earlier seating so I can't vouch for what goes on later. As for the food- amazing . We got two orders of their pretzel bread because that is literally best I've ever had. What is in that butter ?!? I'll be thinking about it til I return. The Otoro crudo, truffle sashimi, catch roll. All must haves . The catch roll is 5 stars on presentation . We also had the Spanish octopus, popcorn shrimp, truffle wagyu filet ( a special ) , and fresh cold crab legs with warm drawn butter- omg. Everything was so delicious. For dessert, get the hit me cake as well as the carousel donuts. You won't regret. We also got the snickers cake which had pretzel ice cream ... eeeeeek. I've been to catch around the world and I can say this is the worst experience I have had at CATCH. We sat at a table that was so small, AFTER the fact that we waited for 30 minutes to be seated with a reservation. They than decided to move us to a better table since ours was so small and stuffy (fit for 5 year olds), in which our new server introduced herself. She put in our drink order and a new server came 2 minutes later and said that she is our new server now. 30 minutes of waiting, 5 minutes of sitting, and 3 new servers. The food was not worth the hype. Our salad was awful, and if you know me I never say no to a salad. It was just spinach and sauce (artichoke was missing). I ordered a spicy mayo, which I never received, and they charged $3 for it. If you can charge $65 for 2 drinks, you can afford to give your customers free spicy mayo. Not to mention another server came tying to serve our table with something we didn't order, mentioning "he knows his tables" after we told him we never ordered what he put on the table. Our waiter came afterwards, and explained it was the correct table but an order from 4 HOURS AGO. Overall , the ambience is nice, food is awful and seating makes no sense. read more

Server Michael, was wonderful and very knowledgeable with wonderful recommendations. A true professional. Food was amazing like always, but the service was terrible. The server was rushing us since we got there and to top it off they gave us the check before the desert was even there, when I asked him why he is pushing clients to order and pay fast his answer was that the manager presses them to do that and that they have to turn tables fast, on top of that they automatically add 20% service on the check for a service that is not good. Heard great reviews so decided to give it a try. We had an early reservation, and were sat near the bar area. I kindly asked to be seated elsewhere inside the dining room area, and were told they couldn't accommodate us when it was empty.... Excuse being it was reserved for other parties at a later time. The party next to us had small kids and were loud which is why we had asked to be moved. The restaurant ambiance was nice, dark wood & dark green aesthetics giving fancy NY upscale vibes. We started by ordering cocktails, I started with Kali which was very nicely prepared, but instead of a sugar rim I would've preferred a tajin rim. Our waiter then explained the menu and his personal favorite selections. I did not like the fact that you have to order all your food at once. You feel rushed throughout dinner, as soon as you're done with an appetizer, main entree is coming out. We ordered a newly added item the Toyosu platter featuring their chef signature cold dishes. This was a great selection, all seafood was very fresh and greatly presented. My favorite was the rainbow sashimi pizza. For the main course I ordered the Herb roasted Branzino, which came with a creamy vegetable basmati rice. The entire Branzino skin is covered in a thick layer of herbs... very salty and took away from the fish itself. My friend ordered the filet which was good... with a side of the lobster Mac and cheese. The lobster Mac had great flavor but it was definitely a first having Mac & cheese with elbow pasta. Definitely would've preferred a cavatappi instead. For dessert we ordered the "Hit Me" chocolate cake. For any chocolate lovers, you'd love it! I thought it was just too much for my liking. Very rich and sweet. Overall experience was just okay.... We had the pleasure of going to Catch this evening just for a drink. Not only were the drinks at the bar very yummy, but the service and the people they have representing their company is great. We had a hiccup when they first opened the restaurant back in May with the door tenant, we weren't allowed into the bar without a reservation, while there was no one seated there. Sean (rock,rocky) welcomed us with open arms and a smile. Offer us seats at high-tops, as well as the bar. We left extremely happy and recommend everyone to enjoy this atmosphere. read more

Was a really disappointing experience. 20 mins in valet. Disorganized host stand. I went for Sunday brunch. The food stations were set up amongst the tables of diners, so even 3 people in line was crowded. It was very awkward standing around people's tables. The ambience wasn't great. Lots of people, not a great view, kind of small, definitely didn't feel like a rooftop. The food was mid at best. Didn't take one photo because there was nothing photo worthy. Staff was pretentious and I had to argue with the waitress about the drink package I ordered. There was no soy sauce for sushi, no syrup for waffles, no pita or chips for hummus and mezz dips. Nothing monumental about this restaurant. There are so much better places to go to in Miami. read more

First off, they need to change their phone system because talking to an AI robot that doesn't allow you to speak to anyone unless the phone number is recognized is terrible customer service. We were not able to speak to anyone on the phone to change our reservation. Second, the food. If a menu has oturo on the menu I am getting it. This tuna was undeniably not fresh. For a restaurant that is supposedly marked by fine dining, I would atleast expect fresh fatty tuna. Especially given that I am paying $12 a piece. Don't come hungry because you will be waiting a while for your food to come out. The sushi rolls only came with 5 pieces for no less than $20. The pasta portion was child sized and hardly aldente. They neglected to acknowledge our guest of honor whose birthday was the reason for our visit despite us mentioning this a multitude of times. Only critique would be that - even though we were told the dishes come out as they're ready, it was a bit weird that our pasta came out before the sushi and hamachi pizza appetizer. This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had. My wife and I were looking for a close place we hadn't been to, so we wandered down the street and gave Catch a shot. Boy, what a mistake. Our welcome was a bit cold and detached, and we were treated as second class citizens since we hadn't made a reservation. An individual who called himself the "sommelier," seated us at a cold bar area with a somewhat distant view of a wall and some sushi preparers. The dining room was behind us, and basically invisible. The menu was unimpressive and prices were inflated to their limit. We ordered a few items, most of which were fair at best, but the topper was a $98 "sushi platter," which amounted to 12 small pieces of sushi, with no gastronomic impact whatsoever. It cost $300, with tip, to have a $50 meal; even $50 is being generous. The service was acceptable, but nothing to brag about, and the ambiance was lacking, being a collection of simple elegant furnishings, chandeliers casting slightly dim lighting and scattered tables. We were both incredibly disappointed on every level. This restaurant has the worst cost-to-portion size ratio in Miami Beach. Best to avoid. You can do much better, right in the immediate vicinity.
