It took too long to come out of the kitchen. It should have been packed better with each flavor getting it's own wrapper. The restaurant was nice and inviting.

The interior is fairly spacious and nicely decorated with plenty of seating. The signage is also attractive looking as well. Menu items are priced fairly reasonably, particularly on Tuesday where there are $2 tacos available. I do also like how you have the choice to put cilantro or tomatoes/lettuce, and corn or flour tortillas. On the negative end, the service is a bit slow here -- even when they aren't very busy. This is much slower than expected for a similar restaurant, as I waited probably close to 10 minutes for my simple order of tacos, despite only 1 order being ahead of me. The food itself was also a bit bland for me - even after adding salsa in. The chicken, carnitas, and ground beef were a bit indistinct in texture and flavors for me - with the pastor being a slight improvement, but nothing like the flavorful preparations available at other local taco spots. Overall, an alright option if you need tacos near the downtown Arlington Heights area, but for me there are tastier options nearby for a similar price.

It's located inside a grocery store (which is how you just know it's going to be good!). We've ordered so many times before and are always amazed at how good everything tastes. We love the carne asada quesadillas for our kids, and al pastor tacos, lengua is always good but not always available depending on whether you order online vs. over the phone/in-person. We ordered all the fixings for a taco bar for a small family party recently, and I cannot recommend this more! Seriously, they are so kind and so accommodating--they thought of everything. They wrapped the salsas in saran wrap on top of the containers they were packed in to prevent any leaks. They provided serving utensils for all the meats and sides. They even packaged everything up in a crate (not just a cardboard box) and helped my husband bring it to the car! And the lady insisted our daughter pick out so many lollipops for her and her cousins for no charge. They were so quick with communication when my husband was inquiring about prices too. What we got with our order: - Carne asada - Al pastor - Rice and beans - Corn tortillas - Chips and guacamole (spicy though) - Onions, cilantro, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese - Red and green salsas

The lady was so nice helping me with my order and even let me try a little horchata, which was delicioso. I had a huge chicken torta that was very flavorful and had plenty of chicken among other ingredients. It hit the spot! Tender, juicy, and made fresh to order. I also had some amazing rice. As I said to the lady there, til next time for sure. The prices were great, too! If you want the real authenticity and are a foodie, go here. Support them.

We ordered breakfast last week- a steak & egg burrito and tamale plate. Burrito was delicious and their salsas are fantastic! Had to go back for tacos tonight w/ cilantro and onion. Steak is by far my favorite- excellent portion, well-seasoned & not dry. My new favorite in the area, I think. Al pastor, carnitas, and chile relleno were also great. So glad I found a new taco spot on the way home from work. I will be back! (No pictures because I devoured the food.)

On top of that, the meat portion was extremely small--definitely not what you'd expect for the price. The tamale was another letdown. It was overpriced, tiny, super dry, and wrapped in plastic, which is honestly concerning. The rice and beans tasted like they had been cooked weeks ago and reheated multiple times. There was a noticeable styrofoam/plastic smell, and the flavor came off artificial--almost chemical-like. It barely resembled real food... more like PlayDoh. The only reason I'm giving 1 star instead of zero is because the salsa (verde and roja) was actually good. I was hope at least the customer service would make up for the food, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. The cashier seemed bothered that I was even there--no warmt, no welcome, just a rushed and uncomfortable interaction. Overall, not a place I'd return

So, I stopped in during the week, just after lunch time and found this little hole-in-the wall of a restaurant conveniently nestled in a shopping center next to the local Walmart. Even though I walked in and the restaurant was completely empty, the pure vibrancy of the decor and the cheerfulness of the staff encouraged me to stay. Not to mention that the aroma making its way out from the kitchen was absolutely mouth-watering. I took a seat at the bar while I perused the menu and was delighted in the simplicity of it. You know the food is about to be fire when the menu is simple and a restaurant focuses on what it does well. In addition to the excellent service, the food was absolutely phenomenal. I started off with some chips and salsa.... which was delightfully flavorful and perfectly crisp. Then, I had a bowl of the tortilla soup. Each spoonful was like deja vu. Each bite made me feel like I was in my grandmother's kitchen as a little girl all over again. The broth was perfectly seasoned and each bite came with a chunk of chicken and an assortment of veggies... truly perfecto! Once I was done with the appetizers, I made my decision to try two tacos from the menu. The first was a salmon taco--and it didn't TASTE FISHY. It was grilled to perfection and then paired with an unexpected yet delicious topping of crispy potato strings and chipotle aioli. I ate every bite of this. It was the perfect combination of crunch and flavor, I just couldn't get enough. Then I also ordered the carne asada a cabron taco. Simple, yet dynamically flavorful. I was so full at this point but took this one home to eat at a later time. Still as amazing as the day I ordered it i'm sure. While I neglected to have any desserts or margaritas here, I was assured that they are just as remarkable as anything else. I had a wonderful meal, excellent service and I greatly look forward to going back if i'm ever in the area again for work. 10/10 Highly recommend!!

A waitress brings you chips and salsa and the menu. We saw at least 10 people come in for large pickup orders. It looks like the building was a Pizza Hut in the past. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated but could use some updates but definitely feels cozy. The weather is in the 90's and the restaurant is nice and cool! There are several TV's mounted on the wall throughout the restaurant. Two are showing menu items, one is showing a soccer game, one is showing golf. and the last one is just some random tv program. The sound is off and they are playing Spanish music. There are lots of great menu items. I had a hard time picking out something to eat. I have never had a torta and decided to order the Chile Relleno Torta. It was spectacular! The bread was crispy and warm on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. It was seasoned perfectly and I could taste all the individual ingredients. I would definitely order again and recommend you try it as well. Definitely better then I expected. My husband ordered the Carne Asda burrito Suizo which he orders everywhere. Wow it is huge and the meat was tender and definitely one of the top 5 that he has ever eaten! Our waitress was very kind and attentive, she even refilled our chips. We left the restaurant full and happy! We will definitely be back!!
