Finally had an opportunity to come back here and order some takeout for lunch one day. From the looks of it, the interiors haven't really changed and that's fine. I really do treat this as a takeout only place. As usual, my food was ready on time if not early. The roll servings portion is very nice and generous. I got a hand roll for the first time as well, which was generous and delicious. For the prices of the sushi rolls here versus what's also in the nearby vicinity this is definitely worth it. Just wanted to share my thoughts on Osaku- The narturo was delicious. Seriously, the food was fantastic. I especially loved the kimchi chicken rice, although it was more of a flavorful fried rice with a nice spicy kick. The Bears sushi was also a winner, that thick avocado layer and juicy tempura shrimp were incredible. I also tried the Bento Box D - chicken teriyaki, rice, veggies, California rolls, salad, and tofu soup. The teriyaki was bursting with flavor! Everything was delicious and the portions were huge. The place itself is tiny - only two tables - but the staff were super friendly and attentive. They were really lovely to chat with! One small thing: the guy working there could probably use an apron, as his shirt and pants looked a little food-splattered. And a bit of a clean-up would do wonders - the curtains leading to the kitchen were dusty, and the TVs could use a wipe-down too. Overall, despite the minor cleanliness issues, I would definitely recommend Osaku! The food is incredible, the portions are generous, and the service is great. Give it a try! read more

For 13.99 I got: -Spicy Salmon Roll -Salmon Avocado Roll - Philadelphia Roll -Miso Soup The Fish/filling to rice ratio was great! The fish tasted fresh and clean and the rice was perfectly seasoned leaving that good umami taste in your mouth. Just started coming here and I wish I had started sooner. This is now my go to whenever my wife and I are feeling sushi. We usually get the Spiderman, Alaska, Caterpillar, and Cubs rolls, but have not had anything bad there yet. And everything is reasonably priced. The store is small but its more cozy than anything. I prefer bringing the food home but there are a few tables to eat at. The service is quick, and very, very welcoming. I look forward to going sometimes because the cashier is so nice and sweet. Ordered the beef teriyaki and beef fried rice. Both were delicious. I love the teriyaki sauce on the beef and the texture of the beef was perfect. The rice was good as well - pretty standard fried rice with a lot of beef pieces. However, I got the chicken teriyaki a different day and the lettuce in the salad was so soggy. Chicken teriyaki tasted great though. I'll be down to try something else next time. read more

When I walked in and asked for a table, my husband and I were greeted with, "We have no bathrooms." This is not a welcoming way to be introduced to your restaurant! I also found the menus to be dirty, and the table was not thoroughly cleaned before we sat down. Luckily, the food made up for the appearance. We ordered the Alaska roll, shrimp tempura roll, California roll, and the bimibop. The sushi rolls were fresh, and the vegetables and shrimp were crispy. The bimibop was bursting with flavor and was too spicy for me, but my husband loved it. Osaku is a great place for a good Asian meal. Just make sure you use the bathroom before you come. read more

Small but mighty, Osaku Asian Kitchen serves up delicious Asian food in a small restaurant that does mostly carryout (but has 2 tables for dine-in, no washroom available though). With low prices and a varied menu, I was inclined to check this place out and was glad I did. I did opt to dine in on my visit here and had quick and friendly service, as they spent time between fulfilling pickup orders checking in for water refills or additional items needed. In terms of decor, there's not much here as the dine in area is the same as what you'd generally get from a waiting area in similar restaurant. I tried the bibimbap here and was quite happy with the portion size and meat provided. It was a good mix of spicy and sweet with rice that was a bit wetter and a good amount of egg provided (to make it extra rich). The vegetables tasted fresh and the overall flavor was good. I also tried some simple maki options, the california roll, alaska roll, and shrimp tempura roll. The vegetables and fish tasted fresh, with fairly generous sized portions of the seafood. The rolls could have had a bit more textural contrast, particularly between the shrimp tempura and vegetables, but i did like the colorful and neat presentation of the food. Overall, a solid choice for Asian food in the area with fairly good prices, good portion sizes, and yummy flavors. read more

Great little sushi spot! The Mango Milk Cloud drink is a mango lovers dream. It's like a mango milk tea with some mango jellies and purée of some sort. Loved both the Fujiyama roll & Godzilla roll. The combination of smoked salmon, spicy tuna and cream cheese is my absolute favorite & the Godzilla roll had a good crunch between the shrimp tempura and crab meat crunch. Divy interiors, more of a takeout than dine-in, though they have 2 tables if you opt to dine in like we did. Food was delicious and well-priced. Sushi was as fresh as any other $$$$ area without the price tag. Hubby's miso ramen was flavorful. I appreciate their broth are on the lighter but still flavorful side. I didn't have to drink gallons of water coz some ramen broth was overly salty and thick. Ramen is cooked al dente as well! We got the strawberry cloud boba drink. This place is a wonderful hidden gem of Arlington Heights / Prospect Heights. The sushi is very fresh and filled with ingredients, not all rice. We love the sashimi (no rice) and the shrimp tempura avocado roll. The rainbow roll has a nice assortment of fresh fish on the roll. Our kids like their rice dishes like the bibimbop and teriyaki beef. Their drinks are creative and tasty, not packed with ice. Friendly service always by the owners. Me and my friend went to this restaurant yesterday. It was a really bad experience. First, there are only 2 tables for dine in, so prepare to wait if during the peak hour. Second, the staff spill soy sauce on my friend's cloth. There is no napkin on the table. And seems like the one of the staffs only want to provide napkin with water instead of letting my friend go inside and wash her hands. (Eventually they allow my friend go into the place and wash her hands) Third, they gave us FRIED CHILI to apologize spilling soy sauce on my friend. I can barely eat spicy and my friend can't eat spicy food. Should provide something that will be generally accept... I appreciate they provide something to us for apologizing but we did not eat spicy food at all... Fourth, I feel like the raw fish is still freeze... Although the restaurant is very small, they have a very wide variety of Asian food. One of the best things they have made is the Rock n Roll sushi. The staff were extremely kind and nice and the service was absolutely splendid. The ambiance of the restaurant is small but is cozy in some type of way. We went for lunch. They had a decently priced lunch special providing 2-3 rolls and a bowl of miso soup. Based on it's location and size, I wasn't expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised, however! It's not the most insane sushi I've had. For the price, however, I was more than satisfied. The spicy tuna roll is particularly nice as it comes with a little tempura inside to add some crunch.
