Believe it or not the BEST spaghetti with marinara sauce I've ever had!

Tried this place out for the first last week. Great drink specials and the steak sandwich was amazing! Definitely coming back again soon.

Tony seated us with a smile. Burgers were thick patties but mine was not cooked to my order. 2 out of 3 were not, the 3rd was well done and that one was right. Med rare was med/well, med was med/well. Fries are crinkle cut and have a seasoned coating. Coleslaw good, it comes in those small little cups. Cucumber jalapeño margarita was good, not sure where the jalapeño part was. It was busy and on Saturdays they have live music. It was one dude doing requests and it was nice but hard to talk over. Mgr checked in with us and asked how everything was. We were polite and said it was fine. Nice decor inside, leather buttoned bar chairs. Cute corner table closest to front door. The food was just OK. The inside of the restaurant was very cramped. Not impressed with the offering unless you just like to eat burgers. Service was mediocre like their food. I will not be going back to this restaurant. read more

Not to take away from how good the burger was but the fries were just ridiculous, I could eat them all day everyday. The burger alone though was something to write home about, just delicious. My wife had one of the salads that was unexpectedly really really good, full of fruit and really good candies walnuts! Definitely recommend this place and will be back. Ordered a medium rare bourbon burger and it came out well done and dry. Also ordered an all you can eat fish fry which was bland. Wait staff never asked how our food was or if we wanted more fish. Expensive and mediocore. read more

Dropped in while traveling through the area. Very friendly staff. We had the cheese curds (good), Cattlemans Bacon Cheeseburger (good flavor, moist, right at medium rare) with tater tots (good) and the Rocknrye burger (great taste, cooked to perfection, excellent rye bread, outstanding sauce) with fries (excellent). They also had a nice selection of beers in bottle. read more

My wife and I stopped in for a drink at 10:50 pm on a Friday evening. We walked in the front door and sat at the bar. After waiting 5 minutes we were told they were closed. I don't have many restaurants that I would call my favorite, but our first visit to Cattleman's Burger and Brew is on my list! I ordered the Swiss and Mushroom Burger, which was thick and tasty! The hamburger was still juicy and it had plenty of cheese. Fries were also hot and tasty. Really enjoyed it. My wife ordered the half rack of ribs and it was plentiful! The sauce was a good sweet taste of BBQ. She said it was "fall-off-the-bone" good. A strong endorsement from her. Service was very friendly and accommodating. Overall, a very good dining experience. I look forward to trying the skirt steak next with pico! Great first visit, and we look forward to our next meal there. read more

Sunday night in Algonquin, we stopped at Cattleman's just for snacks. I tried something I've never tried before - even when I was in Canada - the Poutine. Not sure how authentic it was but it was pretty tasty. Other snacks we had were the fried beans and the sweet potato fries. Feedback was good for both of them. I had the calamari and it was OK. One of us ordered the impossible burger and said it tasted just like real meat and as a vegetarian he was thrilled. All in all, a very pleasant experience. I have gave this place 3 try's and it's not as good as it would seem to be......the service is good but the food is outright tasteless there are much better burgers in the area and there steaks are nothing but a ground hamburger patty. All Drink specials are all pre maid so don't be fooled. read more

Bad service... so slow. Brought the wrong salad at first then had to wait for another 15 mins to get the correct one. That salad was so bad... no taste to the chicken. The dressing was terrible. My husband had to send his burger back because it was over cooked, had no cheese and zero flavor. Thank goodness the drinks were good. Went out to try a local spot and was pleasantly surprised by this place! Friendly and I cannot say enough about the All you can eat Fish Fry dinner! I had the Broiled and my husband had the Beer Battered. It was DELISH! Pub feel and great service. I wish them much success. They work together to take good care of their guests. I'm basing this review on our most recent visit which was awful. I really don't like having to park in the back and walk through the alley. They don't have any beer on tap. So for dinner I ordered the ribs. *I understand that fresh cooked from the smoker or crock pot isn't necessarily an option and really do have low expectations knowing this. This was awful...inedible. They were so dry that the "meat" cracked off of the bone. There was bbq sauce smothered all over everything on the plate. We've gone one other time (with our in-laws) and everything was just good not great. Unfortunately I'm not agreeing to try it again. I sent it back and they took it off the bill. read more

We had a great experience tonight. Food, service and ambiance were all great. Ben was our server and he was attentive, friendly and helpful. The only critique, and isn't really a negative - more an FYI, is that because of the layout, it's not really conducive to serving larger parties. But, I am so glad to have another good restaurant close to home! We will be back. read more

I won't sugar coat it, the service was slow. For a Friday night, with a mildly empty lobby, I can't imagine there was much of an excuse. Our server Lexi seemed very lofty and un-attentive. Another hostess had to bring out our missing silverware, and one of our party's food was brought out by another staff member as well (which came out late) while Lexi talked with other customers and coworkers. My burger was okay. I had the Mac and cheese burger, which was really a standard burger with a hint of cheese. I'd probably suggest something different. Everyone else seemed to like their meals just fine. The fries were great, though! Needless to say I wasn't blown away by the experience overall. read more

I still remember my grandparents taking us to the old location of this restaurant when I was a kid decades ago. It was a blast from the past going again. Black and white silent movies play and kids excitedly pick prizes from the toy chest at the door-just as I remember. My mom and I split the onion rings for an appetizer-they were perfect. Wasn't expecting much at first from this little burger and bar place but Cattleman's greatly exceeded expectations. Service was great. The server/manager was extremely friendly and raved about the food. He knew the menu very well and even gave us a few free steak tacos for taco Tuesday. The burgers did not disappoint either. Disappointed. We were excited for this new place to open in downtown Algonquin. I'm hoping it was just a bad night for them considering they just opened. It's cute decor, but really cramped inside. Also very drafty - cold air coming through the walls and being a small spot with the door opening frequently. My husband and I both ordered a burger and it took an hour and 15 minutes to get our food. We were told 3 times "it's coming right up". Luckily we were not in a hurry! The couple next to us came in after us, ate and left before we got our meals. Burgers were good, but I wouldn't say fantastic. The bun was cold and dry. A large variety of beers to choose from - all in cans and bottles, no drafts. I'm sure we will try this spot again, but not in the near future. read more
