Tried this for the first time Friday night, it was chilly and a tight fit as many have commented before The food was good. Burger was a little over cooked and the ribs seemed as if they sat under a heat light too long but still good. We had a cattleman's burger and the ribs. The biggest turn off is the older woman wearing the aweful blond wig! The restaurant is SMALL so when your fake hair is flowing in people's food it's disgusting. Please throw that aweful thing in the trash because I watched in disgust while that fake hair whisked over several dishes you were serving. read more

This is a local place. The food is good for the price but the menu is somewhat limited. They have a great beer selection. Our server was ok. However we overheard a server at the next table was much more animated then ours and was very informative, wish we had him for our server. Cattelmans lettuce wraps were small and lettuce was wilthy. Fries were too salty, ribs too smokey,  paper on the trays not good for cutting. Paper tears. Hostess had on way to much perfume that made me nauseous. Server was friendly but not very knowledgable. Not enough servers for a small place and the manager was taking tables. The service was terrible. The first dish I ordered was lobster mac and cheese and it was basically just melted velveeta cheese with pieces of lobster in it! My wife sent it back and although they offered me a replacement order by the time I got it my wife was done with her meal. It was supposed to be a date night as we don't get that that often. Turned out it was ruined at least the dinner part. The owner seemed annoyed by us saying something but it was a $18 dish that I took two bites out of! Great steak and garlic mash potatoes . Cooked how I asked and it was tasty . Only thing I didn't care for were the green beans covered in a red sauce . Butter would have been better . This is the perfect ol'school restaurant feel, a perfect alternative to the painful cookie cutter restaurants my family avoid at all costs. The atmosphere is cozy, the service is pretty good, the food is satisfying, the prices are so reasonable, and the toy box the kids get to pick out of after their meal is perfection! Love the free popcorn basket placed on your table. PLUS, they have a housemade impossible burger, that is the cheapest price in town, and is delicious. The "coated" fries are pretty good, but are horrible for you, would love a simple fresh cut fry. My husband loves the burger, hand packed and fresh. He didn't care for the Friday Night Fish Fry. We have eaten here about half a dozen times, and been a happy customer every time. I gave it 4 stars, b/c it can get stuffy, probably due to the fact it is a old building, so the HVAC is going to lack, also the Mai Tais are lacking. Overall GO! Wanted to love this place - cute bar like atmosphere - but burgers are slightly less than ok and WAY over priced. I'm convinced the people who give this place rave reviews have sadly never had a great burger. Well, I have, and these aren't it. Dry, small, and definitely premade frozen patties. Kitchen staff does a great job of presenting these as huge on an oversized bun - but that's not the case. The "fried onions straws" on the bacon cheese burger were nothing more than durkee onions. (the kind in green bean casserole). The cheese was about 1/4 the amount of a fast food burger, and the paper thin slice of tomato was ridiculous. I know cost cutting efforts when I see them. We have visited twice now and after all the hype its just your average place. Lets first get the one myth out of the way, the Burgers. I travel the world and this place does not have world class burger, they don't even know how to cook them properly. Customer service is not good, on two occasions its been marginal. We received our burgers beyond rare the response was a 15 minute wait and not even a visit from a manager. In the 40 minutes we were there, we had to ask for Ice Tea refills after the glass sat empty for 10 minutes each time. The manager, just hanging on the end of the bar taking to his bar tender, not a restaurant leader at all; though he did have the gall to ask a person arriving for an appointment to come back because they were busy, then he went back to ignoring the customers and talking to his bar tender. If you want a drink and popcorn, stop by, otherwise keep searching. read more

We also had the cheese curds,poppers and wings...all was amazing! Great service....we had Ben as our server and he was awesome! We have been to Cattleman's once a week since it has opened. Sunday August 27th we went to enjoy lunch with a Mimosa and a Bloody Mary with a patty melt. The burger was a hockey puck hard and over cooked, it only fit on half the bread which was over grilled french or sourdough. Not really bread for a patty melt. This I have ordered many times, always satisfied. My mimosa was all juice with a splash of champagne, it's suppose to be the opposite. My husbands Bloody Mary he asked for a double $22.50 it had no alcohol in it and it was only filled 3/4 full. He went to the bartender and asked for her to put more alcohol In it another charge of $20 so now we paid 42.50 for a drink still didn't taste any vodka the shot glass was so small maybe half a shot. The vodka was watered down. Our bill was $48 plus $20 plus $10 tip. I couldn't even bite through my sandwich horrible cook, horrible bartender. Waitress was awesome. New owner, they will be closed in less than a year. What a way to ruin a prosperous restaurant! We will keep our $400 dollars a month, or spend it at a restaurant that cares for the satisfaction of their customers. Beware!! read more

5 / 5 Cattlemens Burgers and Brew, Algonquin. I think this was called a Rockin Rye burger? For some reason it's not on their online menu. Really delicious. The Angus ground beef is delicious, it was cooked to Perfection, and the bordelaise sauce was absolutely phenomenal! This was definitely a unique and tasty burger. Our server was spot-on. Paying enough attention, without overwhelming us with visits. Burgers take a bit to cook, but that's because they are cooked to order and cooked perfectly. So I don't mind waiting for that. Tater Tots are so so, but I tasted my husband's fries and they are fantastic! Super, super crispy. Overall, a really great experience. Did I mention, the interior atmosphere is awesome? Love the Charlie Chaplin silent movies on TV. That's not something you see normally and it was very entertaining while waiting for food. The owners have done such a great job with this old building. It's just beautiful. I would say, the most beautiful building on the Block! read more

saw the new place was excited to give it a try got there @ 8 was told 20 minutes waited 30 and asked told 5 minutes watched 5 groups get seated while i was staring at 5 open tables and asked for a manager waited another 5 minutes told how long i was waiting I had 4 drinks at the bar I did not get to eat just left i mean at least sit me in the empty seats and serve me but i guess that was not an option for 2 people this place will be closed in a year sorry but that's what happened and was not rude at all tipped the bartender 10 bucks and while the manager tried to tell me how busy they where but im sorry after i asked watching five groups get seated and still having open tables after 45 minutes it was not busy they just forgot about me but at least sit us or i would of even eating at the bar but i guess that was not an option either sorry but you get better service at fast food places read more

First time ordering from Cattleman's. My son had a burger and said it was the best he's ever had! (I had a bite- it was good!) My daughter had chicken tenders and loved them- they were also good! Grandma had the fish fry and said it was delicious! I had the grilled cheese panini with avocado, bacon and tomato and would order it again but only ate half- it's a big sandwich! Both kids said we should go there more often! The service was great! Very friendly and thankful when we picked up! We will definitely be back! read more

Fish fry is horrible. The fried fish is very greasy! The service was bad as well. The kitchen is filthy and so is the eating area. The fish is served with cole slaw and was horrible. First off went on Sunday afternoon not very busy took forever to get water and a beer. Second, My daughter had the mac and cheese burger which should be named a couple noodles on a burger. I had the mushroom swiss burger. It was very dry and charred and it was like a ball of hamburger.The mushrooms (what little there were) were also very dry and no flavor. For the price you pay for the burger it is not worth it at all. I was really hoping on this being a go to place for a good burger but all hope is gone. read more

Went for a nice dinner at the new restaurant in town .greeter was very pleasant atmosphere is quaint..Menu was good...Ordered ribs with chop steak ..Ribs were terrible dry grizzle..Told manager Kippy that the experience was not good she sat and defended how good they are and then said we were the first to ever complain..What kind of answer is that obviously I'm the first..Offerd a dessert..Really no one wants dessert after a terrible meal..At least take it off the bill or offer a gift card to try again...Wont go back...Not smart ... read more

Cute, new restaurant in Algonquin. It was amazed at how small it actually is inside. Since it is new and the staff is still learning, they were slow at attending to our table and slow at cooking the food. I didn't mind waiting as they had some decent beers chilled just waiting to be drunk. We ordered the basic burger and split it. It came out done as we had asked. They brought an extra plate for our split burger. My only complaint was - it wasn't a juicy hamburger. I think they must use quality meat but it was missing that juice that I like to have run down my wrist when I bite into a really good hamburger. There is extra parking behind the restaurant but you have to walk between the buildings to the front door. It was quite icy on Saturday and it was probably just an oversight, but they really need to work on keeping that salted. read more

My burger was done just right and the server, Ben, was super nice. The kids had fun with the coloring menu and watching Jack Hanna's tv show on tv.
