We stopped in Georgetown on our way home and this steakhouse was close to our hotel. We had a bit of a wait as it was about 5:45 but this place was worth the wait. The staff was friendly, the salad bar was excellent and the food was fabulous. Steak was cooked exactly as ordered, I like medium rare and mine was perfect. Hubby likes well done and his was exactly that without being crispy. Even though the kitchen had to be in overdrive with all the patrons there, everything was exactly as we wanted. My family was in town on a short getaway and stopped in. There was 8 of us. We had no trouble getting a table. The service was excellent. The salad bar was very fresh and full. The entrees were hot and very good. The only complaints I heard was that a couple of steaks a little over cooked and one baked potato was old. We decided to go to Cattlemen's Roadhouse in Georgetown Ky because we were foolish enough to believe the false advertising on their website. This chain claims to be a small collection of restaurants owned by a couple of local Kentucky "boys" that serves grass fed humanely raised and handled beef that is aged 28 days. It claims to be part of the Kentucky Proud Organization (whatever that means these days). When we arrived, we were given a vibrator and told we would have to wait 30 minutes. We had a seat at the bar and ordered long island iced teas. The bartender was lightning fast, but the iced teas ($20 tab for 2) was so bitter, it tasted like sour patch kids iced tea. We didn't have to wait the full 30 minutes to be seated, but had to ask for a seat re-assignment as half of the restaurant looked like a Chuck E Cheese had exploded (waaaay too may children for a Saturday night- don't people get babysitters anymore?!) The salad bar? Well, think Frisch's with not as many interesting selections. Very mundane offerings. I ordered the Outlaw bone in ribeye and loaded mashed potatoes. This is supposed to be a 16 oz. bone in ribeye. What I received was a pounded flat maybe at best 10 oz. ribeye that was at most, ¼" thick and grisly and tough with absolutely no flavor or seasoning whatsoever and it was boneless, and room temperature. Needless to say, I gave it back and left hungry. The mashed potatoes were sticky and the "butter" they serve with their rolls? 'I can't believe its not butter', butter. Their Assistant Manager, albeit trying to provide the Millennial version of customer service, asked, "Well what were you expecting?" For $26? Umm. A 1" thick, seasoned, warm bone in ribeye! DOH! I grabbed a bag of beef jerky for the ride home because it was just getting too late to try to go anywhere else. The beef jerky was a pleasant treat after a couple of bites of what seemed to be feedlot, choice beef at best. Given that this is horse country? Well, I wouldn't be surprised. These KY "boys" need to go back to the drawing board and re-think what they are trying to sell a gullible public. I would be ashamed to put my name on that chain restaurant. And, yes, it's very "chainy". read more

Officially done trying to like this place. I keep telling my husband it will get better and each time it only gets worse. We've tried this place four times in the year and a half since we moved to Georgetown and every time we've been disappointed. Today was the last time, our to go order was lacking. Our egg rolls had no sauce on them (which is the best part). My smothered chicken had no sauce and literally two mushrooms, no steak sauce with my husbands steak tips and no rolls. Everything we've tried lacks flavor and their meals are expensive enough that they should include two sides or the salad bar.. we unfortunately won't be back. read more

Several folks I know from the Georgetown area said this was a really good eatery. So when I was in the area I decided to give it a try. Maybe it is good by comparison to a fast food restaurant, but it is not in the steakhouse league. We ordered two steaks medium rare, one was correct and one was nearly well done. 15 minutes later server shows up and tells I should've said something sooner. He let us run out of water too. Maybe the water thing is peveish, but a steak house that can't get beef right is just not worth the time it takes to dine. The rolls were day old bread, seasoned fries had been standing for a while. Convenient Location to our hotel was the best feature. Door did not open. We went around to the other door to get in. Once inside told staff that the door appeared locked. They said it gets stuck has been that way for 3 years. Service was acceptable. Food was good. We were tired and hungry so we didn't expect a four star experience. Price was reasonable. Charge extra for a salad off of a salad bar when ordering steak. We opted out on the salad. Don't care for buffet style. Two steaks ordered medium well came out totally different. One was a true medium well the other was medium rare. Wait staff never asked if the steaks were cooked to satisfaction. Most steak restaurants do. Sat us beside the back door. If I'd realized they had outdoor seating I would have asked for another table. Door was opened and closed constantly. Overall a good meal at a reasonable price. We stopped in Georgetown on our annual drive to Colorado...hotel staff raved about this restaurant so we looked forward to it. Big disappointment... the salad bar, although it included numerous toppings, was mediocre..wilted lettuce, dry cheeses, over-used containers with watery veggies...I ordered the sirloin sliders as other reviews had lauded the beef...one of the sliders was good, the other two were full of gristle and I couldn't eat. The meal began with a basket of soggy buns with "sweet butter" that was actually some sort of whipped oil and tasteless. There are a few fast food places nearby.....they would have been better! It took two of visits to the manager after the first hour to get a table. Liberal use of colorful language seemed to be what it took to instill a sense of urgency is a mediocre management staff. The food and aervice was good once we were seated. Tried again tonight. Foolish, I know. My mid-rare steak showed up past well done. So far I have eaten here 4 times since I live in Georgetown. I have never had a bad meal yet. I have had the Prime Rib twice and both times it was as good as anything I've ever had at Malone's. While visiting Lexington for a horse event, we decided to try the Cattleman's Roadhouse in Georgetown. We were pleasantly surprised. My husband had a ribeye on the bone. It was a thick cut, cooked perfectly, seasoned well, and very tender. I had pot roast with mashed potatoes & gravy and carrots. One word-YUMMY! First time going in there last week, went with my parents who were visiting from out of state. Prices were fair, food was pretty good but not huge portions like some other nearby roadhouses. Salad bar was really good, large selection. Food was cooked just right and was very tasty. Service was good but busy- It was a Friday night and they were busy at dinner time with a 20-30 minute wait, but the waitress said it's worse on Saturday nights. The Atmosphere was great however the General Manager was unprofessional and rude. He was disrespectful after hollering at us from across the bar. We were trying to get him not to change the 1 TV that 2 young men were watching. All the other TVs were on the U.K. game already. He directed his frustrations out on our group, when everyone in the bar was yelling at him to get his attention. It was loud however he had no problem commenting "you don't have to yell at me" looking at us from across the bar. We, as well as others, were only trying to get his attention. We asked to speak to him to explain when noticing he was waiting on a table behind us and he said " You'll have to wait a minute" in his stern voice. After delivering a beer to the table he was serving and finding out it was wrong he slammed it back down on the bar and said "this is the 2nd time this is wrong" to the bartenders. When he did come over to talk he did not receive the explanation well nor feedback on how a person in his position should of handled the situation. He went straight to the bartender and told her not to serve us anymore then stormed back into the kitchen. His unprofessional manner caught the attention of 2 other parties that we had made friends with while there. One of the parties said she had a family member who works there and said he acts like a jerk to the workers as well. In speaking with a few of the other workers they suggest he acts in this manner often. I will not return until he is gone. I will share my experience with others as well. I enjoyed the food and the rest of the staff but not the slicked back hair guy. Thank you. read more

We stopped here on our way home from Lexington on the recommendation of a friend. Nice family atmosphere. Our waiter Steve was probably the best we've had anywhere, that includes Ruths Chris, Emerils, Jeff Rubys etc.. He made good recommendations, explained any questions we had about the menu, and different sauces. He also was very attentive without being overbearing...exactly what you want when dining out. The salad bar was fresh, and the house made dressings were excellent. My steak was cooked perfectly (which for some reason steak houses seem to have a hard time doing).
