This is a relatively new restaurant and located basically right next to Hiltons parking lot. I thought the place was going to be bad since it's right next to all these hotels and there's no shortage of customers in this location. However, I was pleasantly proved wrong when I chose to walk over from my hotel one night. The staff was very friendly and the food was very good. Going around Georgetown trying different restaurants. Service was great, place was clean, salad bar was fresh. I ordered the filet mingon med well and it was cooked to perfection. There mashed potatoes made with red potatoes is so good. Bread was good came with cinnamon butter though thought was odd for dinner but she had no problem bringing me regular butter. Traveling through . . . great steakhouse option. We're not big fans of the chain steakhouses. Though it is a local franchise, it still has the positive feel of a family owned restaurant. The hostesses were professional in handling the waiting guests - we were pleasantly surprised when the wait time was overestimated! With it's diverse menu and fresh salad bar, all of our family found something to satisfy their personal tastes. Quite honestly, I could have made a meal out of the salad bar! We were staying at a motel within walking distance and decided to get carryout. Ordering online was very easy and even though they were extremely busy with people waiting for tables, our food was ready on time and was very easy to pick up. Cattlemans is pretty straight forward. On a recent visit from wayyy outta town I was glad that my hotel was close to a decent place to get a salad, steak and a drink. The woman at the bar took great care of me, let me enjoy my steak, but kept my drink full and made sure I was happy. Saw this place next to our hotel while visiting Lexington and decided to try . Was a Friday afternoon around 5:30 when we arrived, they were pretty busy but not on a wait list yet. As we have never been here we were thrown off a bit bcz the 'entrance' is not well marked....... we saw doors that looked like the entrance but really were not sure , finally figured it out , lol typically a logo , a welcome , or some signage clearly marks the entrance to a restaurant ........ not the case here. We were greeted promptly by 3 younger girls and as one gathered our menus and silverware she accidentally dropped 2 of our 4 menus on the floor ................... i was thinking please dont just pick those up and carry on like they didnt hit the floor !............ but she did . So now our menus have hit the floor and as she put them on the table we have cross contaminated the table with the floor ....... ‍ smh Oh well we wont die from it but dang , time to break out the hand sanitizer lol Troy was our waiter he was on point and 5 stars, great waiter , he never let a glass get empty nor let us need anything , best server ive seen in a looooooong time in any town ! I had the country fried steak after noticing the menu mentioned it was on some TV show hosted by Kix Brooks , I was expecting a home made version of country fried steak but clearly these were pre made somewhere as they were perfectly uniform like a giant chicken nugget lol. I give them a 4/5 though better than most . Had a loaded bake to go along and it was good . One of my sons likes steak but cant eat much so he had a 7 oz sirloin. I know sirloin can be a tough cut of meat but i have had a few that were fairly tender before. Lol Not this one. I told my son , 11 yr old, the trick to chewy sirloin is to cut it into small pieces......... so we did and im not complaining bcz typically sirloin is sirloin and prob should be ground into hamburger. They had prime rib and a bone in ribeye that looked really good, would like to try these if we are here again. Wife had salad bar , my kids had wings and a sirloin steak. Nothing to scream about but was ok....... this place is very Logan Steakhousish ..... i do like the unlimited salad bar that is a nice change . 2 lava cakes topped w ice cream finished off oyr meal i think the 4 of us spent $75 without a tip. Other than dropping the menus on the floor and then not trying to sanitize them i was happy w my experience. Went here for dinner after staying in the area while traveling. The hostess team was very pleasant and helpful. The food however was mediocre at best. I ordered the southwest egg rolls and a cup of Chile. My wife ordered the potato soup and salad bar. Apparently microwaving old food is common place in this kitchen. The Chile was cold and when I requested hot Chile I was returned a half cup of smoking hot Chile. The egg rolls were frozen and very bland. The potato soup was also barely warm and when notified the server explained how surprised she was as it had been microwaved for 4 minutes. Everything was great until I cut into the steak..... it was no more than a quarter inch thick and deep fried to jerky level. Hard to a complete crunch! Smothered in very good milk gravy the awfulness began to wear on me as I continued to try and eat it. About half way through The server checked in on us and I had to share my feeling and show what had been served. She was very apologetic and agreed to let the manager and kitchen know. The manager took the entree off the ticket. Bottom line.... $10 for such a meager piece of meat with mashed potatoes is a bit overpriced but when it's over cooked it's no good whatever the price. Anytime Georgetown gets a new restaurant we have to go check it out. This one though for being so New is already a disappointment though. Upon coming in a server was talking about how sick she was and not to seat her because she was hoping to get cut soon from the floor. As someone who's been in retail the past ten years excluding food, I've always tried to send people home if they were sick and that should most definitely be the norm even more so in the food industry I would think? Our server was super nice, especially when my Mac and cheese tasted like made from a box leftovers. My southwest roll would have been more pleasant if it didn't taste like it came from a box also. The chicken was processed and you could totally tell. The peanut butter high pie was the highlight of the meal but again, I'm wondering if I could buy it from Sam's. Great Steakhouse! My wife doesn't eat meat except seafood and the app special was shrimp cocktail. She ordered the salmon with salad and was very pleased. I had the outback Ribeye with salad and ate so much of the fresh salad that I could only eat half the steak. Our server was Ginger, she was knowledgeable, friendly and fast. Went on Father's Day. Great service but the prime rib was horrible! About 1/4" thick and mostly cold. Then how the specials were advertised was misleading and instead of the special being to prime rib for $22, they were $20.50 each. Absolutely worst $20 piece of meat I've ever eaten. Updating a year later. We have been to Cattleman's a number of times, and have taken others as well. Typically everything is terrific. Today was much the same, aside from my choice to order the BBQ Chicken Flatbread from the Express Lunch menu. It was totally swimming in their sweet BBQ sauce. I do like the sauce, I typically get the burger that has it, but it was way too much for this item and made me literally unable to taste anything else. There was no way to scrape it off, either. I probably should have sent it back, but I hate being that person. There was also no red onion, which might have countered the sweetness a tad. Overall this is something I would not order again regardless of BBQ sauce amount, so I thought I'd post here to let others know. The remainder of our meal was great. The salad bar was delicious and fresh as always, and my husband loved his mushroom & swiss burger and raved that it was seasoned perfectly, something most places hardly bother with. Saturday was my 35th Wedding Anniversary. We arrived at the restaurant at 7:00. My husband wanted the largest bone in ribeye and I wanted the prime rib. They were out of both! This is the second time we have eaten there in the past 30 days. This is not the first time they were out of steaks. Iwas very dissatisfied especially since my husband's only choice of meat was a tiny "10" steak. My husband had to eat 3 salads to get full. Tried the salad bar, the blue cheese dressing was watery. Like it had been watered down. I ordered one of the worst bloody Mary's I've ever had. We had to ask to have it removed from our ticket because no one at our table could possibly drink it. One sip was all we could muster. It's a good steak, and that's about it. Not much flavor to the steak but sometimes that's all you need is a hunk of well cooked meat. I visited here on a whim during a trip with my parents to Florida. My Dad (being very very picky) was a bit apprehensive about visiting a non-typical chain steak house as he has always been disappointed. Being "Old Style" he has certain expectations - like Bread before a meal, quick service and steaks not being cooked to shoe leather quality. The Cattleman's Roadhouse was delightful!! The staff very attentive and the best salad bar EVER!!! We actually stop here on each trip to Florida (I swear my Dad starved us just so we can stop there!! lol). My Dad passed away in May of this year and I will be traveling back to Florida to take care of things there - you can absolute bet that I will be stopping at the Cattleman's Roadhouse as it has become a travel tradition. Topping abound, such as peas, beets, chickpeas, ham, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, cucumbers, hard-boiled eggs, Cole slaw, potato salad, corn salad, canned peaches, canned pineapple, cottage cheese & pudding. And every dressing imaginable. Sadly, nothing is housemade. All tasted like Sysco or US Foodservice products, especially the dressings. They could easily step things up by having less items but more house made ones. My entree was cooked perfectly: steak, medium rare. It was tender and full of flavor! Not overly seasoned which was impressive. The broccoli was perfectly cooked & seasoned. A perfect entree. And another aspect of the meal is their freshly made yeasted roll with cinnamon butter. This was a lovely surprise. While I'm not a fan of sweet, yeasted rolls, these were delicious and the butter was also impressive. Delicious cinnamon flavor. I am betting the cinnamon is added to commercially purchased butter, which resulted in a fantastic compliment to the rolls. They have many dessert options but nothing struck us as House made and our dinner was plenty filling. My wife and I visit our grandson every weekend in Georgetown being small there aren't slot of options after church to eat so we've eaten here a couple of times this morning month. There are some things here that you expect when visiting a place in this category hopefully you visit and they are doing those well. Service both visits has been friendly. The food is nothing great the salad bar is cold and many items to adorn your plate. Tea and coffee are good and kept full. Rolls are good and come hot. Entrees well it's a roll on of the dice. I'm a sucker for prime rib it is a favorite of mine. It was on special today so I bit even though I knew better. First 2 pieces were returned they were almost raw not cooked rare but uncooked rubbery undercooked. The piece I got was a warm mess. I'm old I've eaten hundreds of meals with prime rib the feature. Never have had a piece been greasy this one was very oily so much so 2 hours after leaving the taste is still in my mouth can't wait to get home and brush it away.
