This place is just like a Sweet Greens but for Middle Eastern food. Because of the buzz around Cava, I was meaning to come here for a long time. Food was good - nothing exceptional though. Portion sizes are big, and each bowl packs a very high calorie count. Price point is pretty steep - $16 for a chicken shawarma bowl. Service is quick and you can walk out with your bowl in no time. It is convenient to get the bowl to go. Love the overall branding and aesthetics of Cava though. Marketing on point.

I loved the food here! There's so many different options for your base, toppings, protein, dips, and sauces. I'm so glad they brought this franchise to Chicago since I've seen it in so many TikToks and vlogs. The service was okay. I felt like I was really rushed, but I understand since there was a long line and very busy. The ambiance is nice. The seating is very limited, but I like how they have a variety of different sodas and juices with free refills.

After hearing so many people rave about CAVA, I finally got to try it while visiting Chicago -- and wow, it did not disappoint! Easily one of the best Mediterranean meals I've had. What We Ordered: * Pita Wrap - customizable and packed with flavor. * Mediterranean Salad - fresh, crisp, and full of vibrant toppings. * Pita Chips with Red Pepper Hummus - absolute must-try combo! The Experience: Everything tasted fresh, balanced, and delicious. The portions were generous, and the ingredients tasted high-quality. The pita wrap especially stood out -- warm, soft, and perfectly paired with the fillings. Final Thoughts: Wish they'd open a few locations in Washington soon -- we're seriously missing out! If you love bold, Mediterranean flavors with a healthy twist, CAVA is a no-brainer.

I Ordered The Harissa Avocado Bowl, Which Was Fresh And Flavorful. However, The Hot Harissa Vinaigrette Was A Bit Overwhelming--Next Time, I'll Definitely Ask For It On The Side. I often leave reviews, both good and bad when needed. After repeated poor experiences at the CAVA in Wicker Park, I feel compelled to speak up. This location desperately needs better management and oversight. Historically, visits here have been marked by disorganization. Staff often appear confused and uncoordinated, leaving both in store customers and delivery drivers frustrated. People standing around with no idea when orders will be ready. Orders are frequently incorrect or missing items, and the atmosphere feels chaotic at best. This time, while I appreciated that the order was ready on time for my delivery driver, the portion size was shockingly small, and to top it off...no pita. After a long, exhausting day, I was genuinely looking forward to a satisfying meal, only to receive a barely filled bowl with no pita and no silverware. It felt careless and dismissive of basic customer expectations. I just don't get it. Call me dramatic, call me extra, but imagine that one time that YOU had a long day, got your overpriced food delivered and your face sunk when you held the bag. It's all happened to us, right? I love CAVA as a brand and have had great experiences at other locations, but the Wicker Park store continues to disappoint. I prefer CAVA over Chipotle, Qdoba, and their biggest competitor in my area Roti. I chose to spend $30 on CAVA delivery rather than walk to the Roti right down the street from me because I deserved to get what I really wanted! Bowl was delicious, yet gone in 5. Please take a closer look at what's happening here. Your customers deserve better.

I have been wanting to try Cava ever since it made its grand entrance to Chicago in Wicker Park! And boy, was the long anticipated arrival worth the wait! When dining in-person at Cava, even on a busy Saturday, we were met with a great location, good service, a fun environment, and delicious quality food! They took Mediterranean bowls to a whole new level. The service was fast and the staff was all very friendly! It is definitely a little overwhelming if you don't know what you want, but I do appreciate the signs that list your options along the serving. I got the Harissa Avocado bowl which came with hummus, crazy feta, and a hot harissa vinaigrette. It was so flavorful with good spice and fresh quality ingredients. My friend built her own bowl and she really enjoyed hers too! The bowls were filling and you get good bang for your buck, considering it's a little more on the expensive side for a salad/bowl place. The juices were high quality and very tasty, as well. I tried the blueberry lavender juice and was impressed! I have heard from friends that ordering online can take a while and often not be ready on time. But my experience ordering in-store was delecavatable!

Came here twice during my trip, and both times were fantastic!! The quality control of Cava is excellent- every item is so fresh and deliciously made. They are a well oiled machine in terms of day to day operations from a customer perspective. Both times my bowls were too spicy, I cried a little inside because they were still so good I had to finish them. The line moves quickly, my first bowl consisted of basmati rice, hot harissa chicken, harissa/traditional hummus/red pepper hummus, corn/pickles/cucumbers/pickled onions/greens, and harissa vinaigrette- the triple harissa knocked me out. Don't be like me and overexert your boundaries- the acidity of the lemonade I got did not help! Nevertheless, there was still a bevy of flavors that underlined the spiciness (oregano, cumin, and onion powder to name a few). I switched my order the next day to be half greens and half rice and regular chicken with a lemon herb dressing, but keeping the harissa dip was still too much. It's the things in life that we love the most that hurt us the most. I digress.

I love any type of bowls so when my friend's daughter raved about this place, I thought we needed to give it a try! I would describe it similar to a Chipotle with the exception that everything here has Mediterranean theme to it! If you have never been, I would highly recommend looking at the menu before you go. There were so many different options, I was a bit, overwhelmed, doing it on the spot. I decided to create my bowl. I chose a basmati rice, and I added a variety of vegetables and olives, the dill yogurt dressing, falafel, (you can also choose from a variety of different chickens, steak and lamb) a lot of feta and some soft crispy pita chips to go with the bowl. My daughter ordered the harissa bowl which she said was very good if not a little spicy hot. They have quite a variety of very good drinks like blueberry lavender, cucumber mint, pineapple apple mint, and more. I tried a few and they were all amazing. They also have pita wraps if you are looking for more of a sandwich. My biggest complaint is that this location does not have nearly enough seats. We got there and it was not too big of a line, but within 10 minutes, people lined up almost out the door and basically once you get your food, you kind of stand around subtly staring at people to see when the next table is going to get up. It is small enough that people are literally standing right behind you waiting for your table. The only other thing we had issue with is, again this being our first time, when we went down the line he picked the things we wanted, and I mentioned we got a small bag of the pita chips. After we paid the cashier, saw them and told us that it was not cool we did not tell him we had those chips! This was our first time and being busy we just kind of rushed through the line. He told us this could come out of his paycheck... We apologized and offered to pay the few dollars but he just waved us along. So just an FYI, if you ask for a pack of the pita chips, remind the cashier that you have them! Food was great though! We will definitely try another one in the future. In fact, I am already craving another!

I placed an order online at 12 PM and set my pick up for 12:30 pm, and it took half an hour or so to drive here. So coming around 1:00 pm or so I expected my order to be ready on the order shelf. But when I went to go pick up my order, I had 3 staff members ask me what my name for my order was and wander aimlessly looking for my order. So they made my order from scratch right then and there. When I got my order, it was missing pita, the lentils were hard, and it was also missing olives. I won't be coming back here for a while, especially when it was not busy on a Tuesday!! read more

I don't normally leave reviews but I am extremely disappointed and will likely never order a to go order from here again. From the base to the toppings not a single ingredient is correct in my bowl. Wrong rice, wrong meat, I received 2 of the 7 toppings I selected. Completely unacceptable. If you are out of the ingredients you should stop accepting orders or indicate you're out. It was a hot summer night, 9:52 PM. Cava closes at 10pm, but I come in anyways. With sweat pouring down my face I utter the words, "Could I get a fountain drink please?". A heavenly voice responds, "You can just have it for free". He hands me the cup and before I know it I'm saved from heat exhaustion and drinking a wonderful mixture of cucumber, lime, and dedication to making a great product. The food is good and the offerings are unique and abundant. That said, many think the long wait times (up to 45 minutes) are due to high demand for the product, but in fact it's because the staff are minimally trained and extremely slow..... but you can tell they are nice people. Each time I come here, I feel like I'm dating. The person (Cava in this case) seems minimally interested, standoffish, slow to respond and playing hard to get. And for the reason, it leaves me wanting more and having the willingness to sit and wait for 5x the time of chipotle as I seek validation from almighty Cava. Please go faster and the lines will go away....or maybe this is part of the strategy and if so, bravo! read more

Visited Cava for lunch because we had heard great things since they opened a few weeks ago but it did not live up to the hype for me. I ordered the Steak + Feta Pita, substituted tomato/cucumber for the romaine. I opened up to a steak pita soup that was swimming in sauce. In addition, the steak was fatty, overcooked, and bland. Managed to eat about 1/3 before it wasn't worth the flavor or hassle of the sauce spilling out the back. The greens and chicken bowl that my friend got seemed to be the better option here than the wrap. read more

Ordered online and said it would take 50 minutes. We were fine with that, but it ended up being 2 hours before we had to just cancel our order. Not sure who is running the show, but they definitely should be fired. Terrible experience and we will not be returning to this location. A real shame since the food is very good. read more

Tried this place for a quick lunch today when I was out and about doing a little shopping. Totally regret it and wished I would have walked further down the street to better places that I already knew of. First fail is they ran out of brown rice, like how does that happen. Second , almost all the meats were gone or almost gone. Place seemed disorganized and no one knew their role. Tables were not cleaned and wiped and garbage was overflowing so bad that people were stacking it on top the receptacles. It was not that busy maybe four people in the place no one waiting in line. Flavors were just okay and nothing was special or stuck out to me. I'll choose elsewhere next time and pay less for a better meal that isn't some California chain or wherever this trendy new chain is from. read more

This place is not worth the hype, and an absolute shit show. Portions suck, wait is ridiculous and the poor employees look like they're treated like crap from management. I witnessed a male manager/supervisor berate a young male employee in front of a full store. Then because we waited so long, they seem like they opened yesterday and don't have enough food, that same manager stood around not helping out, talking poorly about the employees to another one in front of us customers. Seems like it's just a hype, food was mediocre at best, portions suck, and I cannot support a business who treats people the way I witnessed this guy treat people. read more

Ok yes it can be very tasty. But it is just not worth it. First of all there's something wrong with their set up and how the workers are stationed because it seemed terribly slow and Inefficient. But the worst part is their portions are just so weird and wrong and for it being overpriced.... I won't bother. Like first visit they gave me about a pound of chicken with maybe 1/4 lettuce when I got a salad. So now I asked for more lettuce and less chicken. I didn't realize it had arugula too and proceeded to get less than 1/4 lettuce, more than 1/4 arugula, 1/4 chicken and 1/4 the rest. And there's always way more sauces and dressing than is worth it for the amount of food, and I'm someone who loves dressing. It's just baffling. read more

Ordered online for pick up and waited over an hour from the estimated pickup time. However the system did not make sense there were orders with pick up times after my order that were already prepared. For example my order was meant to be ready at 2:30 but an order scheduled for 3 PM or 2:45 was ready before ours. I guess waiting in line is faster even if the line is long just wait in it. The food is good but not enough to justify these wait times. read more

Ordered online food early for the order to be picked up at 6:45 and did not receive food until ~7:20pm. Management did not apologize or give good estimate for when food would be ready. Will not be returning for already overpriced fast food. Food should not take 30 minutes longer than pickup to make pre-made food with good heads up. read more

Food is very good BUT because this location is so fowl and disgusting it made my food taste bad. there is food like smeared all of the counters, the sauces are like dripping all over the canisters and it is fowl. the service was below mid holy crap. i would say cna u have garlic sauce and bro tried squeezing the nasty bottle on the bowl and when it barley squirts out and nothing comes out bro says "no we don't have anymore" HUH be fr that was after telling me they had no more of like 5 other things. complete waste of money im so sad about this. it is also so crazy because you know it's all the manager's fault whoever that man or woman is needs to get fired ASAP for real because why is everyone being underpaid overworked and you don't even order enough supplies for your business to run properly at 5 PM on a Sunday afternoon. read more

The manager "tish" is very disorganized and doesn't know how to train the employees. She hired dozens of people and did not train them properly. I recommend going to the new Cava location that's opening in August the one in Wicker Park is not good. I think it will be better If a new manager came in and let her back to team member. read more

Had an absolutely horrible experience ordering delivery from Cava. I submitted an order at 6:36 pm for 3 wraps. Since then, 3 different DoorDash drivers tried to pick up the order and had to give up because it was not ready. After two hours of waiting, I had to cancel the order and get Taco Bell because I was starving! Considering that Cava is a fast food restaurant, I cannot even begin to imagine what had to have happened at this store to make them unable to assemble 3 wraps in 2 hours. Absolutely ridiculous, please get your shit together. read more

(My apologies for forgetting their names). Both were exceptionally pleasant. The trainee did a superb job walking us through the menu, explaining the concept of ordering. We decided on a variety of dishes, and Aba delivered: - Wild Mushroom Hummus: A smooth earthy dish with roasted mushrooms folded into a creamy hummus, finished with truffle oil and herbs. Yummy! - Tuna & Watermelon: A refreshing pairing of tender tuna balanced with juicy watermelon, cucumber, pomergrant seeds and mint. Loved it! - Green Chili Shrimp: Served in a metal dish used for escargo. The shrimp were covered by breadcrumbs and lots of butter with a slight kick to it. Great for dipping your bread in. The only thing that was not ideal was that an optional surcharge was on the receipt, when we tried to get our server to help remove it per instructions on the receipt no one was to be found. That was disappointing and potentially strategic? I would have rather just tipped. I'm not sure how others feel about the surcharge?

I did not want to order a dessert after the salad, steak, and shawarma all missing the mark. The seating was very uncomfortable. It is cramped and communal and at this price point I expected a much better experience. Will admit I should have looked into the actual dining set up before booking a late night reservation but even still there are so many better places in Chicago where you can get better food and actually feel comfortable.
