We are from Northern Ca and found CAVA when we were in the area last year. Since then we have been here everytime we are in town. I have very picky eaters and everyone LOVES the food at CAVA. Last night we had a late dinner here and as always the food was delicious. Think Chipotle style but Mediterranean. Love that they offer avacado and you can add any of the toppings/ingredients to make your bowl or wrap unique to your taste buds. I really want to do a shout out of appriciate to an employee that stood out to me...Tracy. When our family walked in, she greeted us with a big smile and welcomed us in. It was about 45 minutes before closing and there was a steady flow of customers still coming in. As the employees behind the counter were fulfilling orders, Tracy was busy thouroughly cleaning, tables, counters, door, glass, chairs etc...she was working so hard that I had to tell her how impressed I was with her detailed cleaning and work ethic. A couple girls accidentally spilled a drink as they were throwing away their cup and even though it added more work to Tracy's already busy closing duties she didn't skip a beat, telling the girls it's ok, she's got it and to enjoy the rest of their evening. I was privileged to talk with Tracy for a minute and tell her how amazing I think she is and how impressed I was with how hard she was working. So, This is how a bowl (of any kind) is supposed to look like! I've eaten at Cava Westwood several times, and it is hit or miss. Sometimes the portions are sufficient. Sometimes not. Today, Friday, June 26th was a hit! I visited the restaurant around 2 PM. I ordered a super green/grain bowl with spicy chicken as the protein. The chicken was fresh, and the white rice was fluffy and light. A special shout-out to Vonny. I'm not 100% sure about the staff member's name. (I'm sorry if I got the name wrong ) She made sure I had fresh pita chips, and she didn't rush me through the line. She even gave me suggestions about what dips would go well with my bowl. I took her suggestions, and it blended so good! She gave excellent customer service not only to me, but to the customers that were behind me. This was my first time visiting Cava since COVID-19. It took him 10 minutes to make one order, and there was a crowd of at least 7 people angrily waiting. Also, the worker looked high out of his mind. I love Cava! Their bowls are filling and delicious. I like to get the greens and grains bowl with chicken and falafel and arugula and saffron rice. The bowls are super customizable. There are lots of protein and dressing options and as many toppings as you want. It's very easy to order online and pick up in store, but they also have indoor seating. I highly recommend getting the pita chips on top, they add a fun crunchiness to the bowl and are delicious. Also, you can add a piece of pita to the bowl for free. The pita was really soft and good. Unfortunately, this past time that I went, the saffron rice was very hard. Also in my opinion, I would prefer that the falafel would be more crispy, it's a little too soft in the middle. Fresh, tasty, customizable Mediterranean food with great portions. Basically Chipotle, but for Mediterranean food...so good! I got a bowl with half greens and half rice for my base. I added the tzatziki and roasted red pepper hummus as spreads and the spicy lamb meatballs for my choice of protein. The rest of the toppings were unlimited, and I went ham with all of the fresh veggies and flavourful salads. Finally, I added the lemon herb tahini dressing because that's what the guy in front of me got and it sounded good. My bowl turned out to be massive since I added so many toppings, and I loved how all of the different flavours came together to create one creamy, tangy, and refreshing dish! However, if you're a pickier eater or don't like having your food mix together, you might not like this place as much. The interior of this place is pretty spacious and there's a good amount of booths and tables for seating. There's also a patio area outside in the front that also has a bunch of smaller tables. I found the service to be pretty efficient, so this is a good place to grab a quick bite if you're on a time crunch. If you like Mediterranean food, Cava will be right up your alley. Cava reigns supreme as one of the elite fast casual restaurants. There really isn't much going against it. It's comparable in price to any other fast casual restaurant, but I'd argue you're getting a lot more for your money's worth. To get the best "bang for your buck," I recommend creating your own Greens + Grains bowl. When I first started frequenting Cava, I would select the Pita for my base, but for nearly the same price, the Greens + Grains bowl gives you a whole lot more food and you get a mini pita on the side with your bowl for no additional cost! Need I say more? Their selection of dips and spreads add a ton of flavor to the meal, with my personal favorites being the Crazy Feta and Roasted Red Pepper Hummus. But let's not kid ourselves. The best part is definitely the protein. I usually get a mix of the grilled chicken and the grilled meatballs which just ooze with flavor when you bite into their tender core, but sometimes I'll switch it up with the roasted seasonal vegetables. If you don't mind paying a premium, the braised lamb truly is king. With their plethora of toppings and dressings, it doesn't get old and you can always tweak your go-to order to satisfy your current mood. Five stars for sure! read more
