I'm newer to CAVA than most but I'm very impressed with what I have had there the past 3 times recently. The service is excellent. People are super friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to help me avoid black pepper which doesn't agree with me. The salads are wonderful.. Highly recommend the kale, broccoli and Brussels sprouts mixed with spinach. It's so great to have a healthy and nutritious combo of salad as a base. The choices for add ins are pretty dynamic. I recommend the lamb, hummus and all the little veggies/side salads. While it's priced more than I would like, it's actually worth it compared to some other places. Parking is iffy. But there is a lot up the street that provides 2 free during the day and a flat rate after 5pm. Everything is spotless which is refreshing to see.. Highly recommend.. read more

Wonderful food and service! I have never been here before and they helped me figure out what to order and were very patient with me! I really appreciated the guidance. I got a bowl with half greens and half rice (so nice they allow half an half). The girl in charge of proteins took the time to explain the difference of all the choices to me. I got the plain grilled chicken which was quite flavorful. My bowl was delicious and also very healthy for a late night meal. I like to go to this cava because it's close to my work and I like their food. Their food isn't my complaint however, this location just needs better staffing or better training on customer service. This review is particularly for the grill cook - the short, heavy set man with brown curly hair. Always so unpleasant to go in when he's working, and god forbid you dare ask him the bathroom code. Hell scream it at you without even looking up once. Just hostile overall. The worst cava in the country? Look i get that demand is high but still i've been to other cava locations and this is so poorly run from and this location is ran so operationally poorly. But this time, at this CAVA, Caesar the manager helped me pick out an amazing bowl--and it was absolutely fire! Not only was the food fresh and flavorful, but the customer service was top-notch. Caesar and the staff were welcoming, friendly, and really went out of their way to make sure I had a great experience. I come on my lunch pretty often (I get an hour lunch) and usually spend 30 min in line.. like ok whatever fine they're usually super busy and i come at lunch time around 12. This wouldn't bother me at all considering how busy they are, but when you finally make it to the front the person taking your order (literally NO MATTER WHO) is pretty pissed off to help you every single time. I order the kids pita and without fail the person taking my order rolls their eyes.. they also will literally look at their coworkers and roll their eyes to eachother in front of you (do that in the break room...????) i've worked so many customer service jobs and I totally understand that it can get super stressful and there sure are assholes, but to be blatantly rude to a customer who is being SO nice and normal is crazy. Everytime I leave I think of the odd experience I just had (and i've had many), but this last experience stuck out to me: I got the kids pita like I do and the guy literally threw my food in the plate in front of me, and then when I asked to purchase an extra sauce he goes "you only get one" and i said.. can I buy another..?? and he goes "um i'm sure you probably can?" all rude.. then helps the next person. THEN the next lady in the line (i think she might be the shift lead) looks at my plate, walks over to the guy that put the chicken in there and goes "hey do you see that?? In-person is alright but even during off hours workers aren't that competent. Especially when ordering from online, I have consistently recieved a smaller portion about half compared to when I order in-person and most of the time they forget to add everything into the bowl. Truly no major complaints but smalll little gripes that aren't their super fault do take this down 1 star though, like the lines at this location can get insanely long cuz it's smack dab in the middle of UCLA territory (but shockingly it is still easy to find parking!) & they frequently run out of stuff but again that's kind of out of their control to some extent. But it does effect the experience! Man, I've visited this location multiple times and normally it's great but it was not hitting like it normally does today. Looks BEAUTIFUL but tasted confusing; maybe it's my fault for adding too many toppings. Is the meat and pita usually cold? If I remember correctly in the past it was more of a warm bowl but today it's feeling straight up cold. Barely anyone here but the tables were dirty/not cleaned between users. It's a giant space with ample indoor and outdoor seating. I was pleasantly surprised by their much larger drink selection than I remember from my last visit (lots of teas and fruit juices). Bonus points for nugget ice! I tried the cucumber mint lime drink, although it had too much cucumber flavor for my liking. Staff was kind but seemed distracted. Overall disappointed with this visit. Might enjoy more when I go home and microwave it. Pro-tip: You can get half chicken / half veggie for the same price as full. I forgot to do this and ended up getting full chicken full veggie which is a LOT of food. You can also do half rice / half lentils, etc. for your base. I used to come to this CAVA at least once a week when I was in undergrad and was obsessed. I decided to come back to grab dinner with a friend on a weekday and was surprised to see a long line since I remember them being busy exclusively for lunch a few years ago. It took around 7 min to get to the front and around 5 additional min to get our orders ready which is still fairly quick considering the line. The staff was very friendly and efficient although they appeared to be slightly understaffed at that time for the volume of people. The restaurant is unchanged from what I remembered, was clean, with plenty of seating available but for some reason their AC was not on and it was unbearably hot inside. Luckily we were able to get a table outside where it was a little bit more fresh but I noticed some people wanted to sit down and could not since there were no more tables outside and the inside was too uncomfortable due to the heat. I got a build your own greens bowl with half chicken and half roasted veggies which was my usual order before. The portion was generous and filling. However, this time the food felt a lot more oily to me than it used to before which I did not love and made me feel pretty heavy. The flavor was still pretty okay but not as good as I remembered and they also forgot to put in the free pita in my order which they never had before. Additionally, on my way out, I went to use the bathroom and noticed that it was very dirty, which might be because it was towards closing time but I still feel like this could be a factor to improve for a better customer experience. I think if I had had to rate this place a few years ago I would have given it 5 stars no question, but based on my latest experience in isolation, I would really give it 3.5. That being said, I will likely still come back and hope my most recent experience was just a blip--this is one of my favorite places and I truly love the concept of their fast casual Mediterranean food! read more

A couple of weeks ago I place an online order here that was supposed to be ready at 12pm. I waited and did not get my food until 12:20pm. I figured they just had a bad day although you could clearly see their system is flawed. They don't have a regular person checking to see if the orders that are ready and sitting on the counters are for any of the people waiting. They only call out new order names. So people waiting don't even realize that their food is already ready until much later. Also, I have only seen 1 person handling online orders for a heavy volume location. Recently, I placed an order for pickup at this location and it said it would be ready at 12:15pm. I arrived at 12:15pm and of course, it was not ready. At one point, there were around 15 people waiting next to me to pick up their food. A few gave up and left without getting their food. Silly me, I waited all the way until 1pm and still did not get my food. I finally gave up and asked for a refund. I was instructed by the manager that my refund would have to be requested through the online portal where i ordered it. I let him know that my order said that it would be ready at 12:15pm. He told me it's a virtual queue so it can get backed up. What doesn't make sense about that is that other people waiting (conversations started amongst us) had orders that were scheduled to be ready later than my time of 12:15pm but got their orders. The food itself at Cava is generally good. My rating is not about the quality or taste of the food. They just seemed to have a flawed take out system where orders aren't consistently ready by the scheduled pick up time, and it's likely that they often only have a single person handling take out orders. Poor guy looked overwhelmed and I don't blame him. The line for pickup and the process of letting people know when their order is ready is also flawed. If you don't show up when they call your name, your food goes on a shelf away from the pick up line and then your name doesn't get called again. In general, I don't recommend against eating at Cava, I would just avoid this particular location until they can improve their internal processes. read more

This is a really great place to make your own Mediterranean bowl! So many awesome items to choose from, and this location usually restocks their items well consistently. I love to get the bowl with grains and greens, chicken, red pepper hummus, roasted eggplant, tzatziki, and almost every topping they have available with free pita bread on the side. Their yogurt dill and harissa hot sauce are my favorite dressings to combine in my bowl. This is one of the most delicious and healthy options to choose from. We ended up here for lunch when visiting the nearby campus. My daughter has eaten dinner at Cava a few times and really enjoyed it. I was hungry so I was kind of hesitant compared to the other choices but decided to give it a fair shot. It's set up a lot like it's neighbor (Chiptole). They have pita, salad, rice or a mix. There are set menu choices or you can make your own. I read reviews and looked at the menu but it was honestly overwhelming! Being a first time customer- the service was absolute TRASH. The workers were so rude and acted like they were annoyed by our very presence it was almost comical. If you asked a question as you went through the line they got irritated and didn't want to explain anything even though we had never been there. There were four in our party and everyone commented on it as we sat down. Eeeeek! Luckily their food and drinks are really good! I had a rice and lettuce combo, spicy lamb (not too spicy) with garlic topping which was really tasty. Don't be afraid to ask for more. The spicy lamb and avacado were an up charge, which I found worth it. I also got the corn salsa, tzatziki and feta cheese. They also have a great drink bar with all natural sodas and freshly made juices. It was nice to get such a tasty lunch in and still get my daily serving of veggies! Rather than Mexican style bowls, Cava is mediterranean. It's the same type of assembly line situation like Chipotle where you just go down the line & request your base, proteins, and toppings. The bowls are bigger and also cheaper than Chipotle, and the options are way more abundant. In addition to the base, protein, & veggies you also get the option to add spreads & dressing. You can ask for complimentary pita on the side as well. I saw the cucumber mint lime drink & knew I had to get it because it looked so refreshing & it absolutely was! It kind of reminds me of the Mint Julep drink at Disney. NOTE: Sometimes there's a farmers market on the block that Cava is on, so don't be alarmed if the block is closed off to traffic. I hate eating salads, but I like CAVA. Their customizable bowls are reasonably priced ($10.67) and extrememly generous. My fave is the BYO Greens + Grains bowl, with the saffron basmati rice and super greens. If you like spicy, definitely order the harissa as one of your dips. I'm not a vegetarian, but often find myself ordering the roasted veggies as my protein because I enjoy eating roasted brussels sprouts, carrots and cauliflower (grilled chicken is also good). I go nuts with the toppings, which help add bulk to my salad bowl, and always add the pita crisps for that added crunch. My husband always gets the Greek Salad, which is not customizable. It's the same price but smaller than the BYO bowls (maybe because I add so much stuff to mine) and you don't get to add additional toppings or dips. You don't get the option for a side of pita for free with the Greek online either. (I'm always looking for maximum bang for my buck and would just build the Greek salad as a BYO Greens bowl and add on additional toppings). I've been ordering online and picking up, which is super easy because they have all the bags just sitting on the shelf. They get really busy during lunchtime, so the times get booked up quickly for online orders. Also, as with any takeout orders, it's a good idea to double check your bag as I've had dressings requested on the side missing, as well as that free pita. Indoor and outdoor seating available.
