First time having Cava! Was on my to-eat list for awhile since I've heard good things. I ordered via web and got the grains bowl: Saffron Basmati Rice, Tzatziki, Hummus, Grilled Chicken, Grilled Meatballs, Pita Crisps, Cabbage Slaw, Tomato + Onion, Tomato + Cucumber, Pickled Onions, Fire Roasted Corn, Lentil Tabbouleh, Salt-Brined Pickles, Persian Cucumber, Yogurt Dill, Garlic Dressing, Free Side Pita. There were a few items where I noted online to put "extra" but it didn't seem like it panned out to reflect my customization. I showed up about 7-8 min after the pickup time and it wasn't ready. No utensils provided and food was barely warm. Overall, flavor was good. Protein was better than expected, but the experience/pickup and rest of the food was just ok. Maybe I just had very high expectations haha. If you order for pick up, it is pretty easy to just park your car on the side and go in and pick up, otherwise, street parking. read more

I've heard this is the mediterranean version of Chipotle, and figured it was worth a try since I was in the area. The girl helping me was new but friendly as I chose the kids pita as a first timer. They grab the pita for you then you add a side (saffron basmati rice), protein (grilled chicken), sauce (tzatziki), two toppings (persian cucumber/ tomato and cucumber), then dressing (lemon herb tahini). I was then offered milk or apple juice* (chose this) and the total was $7.77. Deciding to eat there, I dug in and actually enjoyed this. The only thing was that the pita was a little over-saturated, and I realized it's because the sauce was mixed in with the dressing and not on the side like I've seen this done online. Between her and I both being new, it was a minor mistake. Ended up returning recently and basically ordered the same thing (done correctly with sauce on the side) but the service was subpar compared to the first time. Two different girls were helping out, and they were definitely there for the paycheck. I was sitting at one of the further tables near the entrance yet I could hear their conversations, dotted with a lot of cussing in between. I know I'm not at Mastro's or a high-end dining establishment but this was a little frustrating since there were not a lot of people dining in, making this more obvious than normal. Just a few adjustments there and this would be a much higher rating. *Found out a cup was the additional choice for a drink which I prefer since one can use that for fountain drinks or one of their own beverages. Wonderful food and service! I have never been here before and they helped me figure out what to order and were very patient with me! I really appreciated the guidance. I got a bowl with half greens and half rice (so nice they allow half an half). The girl in charge of proteins took the time to explain the difference of all the choices to me. I got the plain grilled chicken which was quite flavorful. My bowl was delicious and also very healthy for a late night meal. I'm newer to CAVA than most but I'm very impressed with what I have had there the past 3 times recently. The service is excellent. People are super friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to help me avoid black pepper which doesn't agree with me. The salads are wonderful.. Highly recommend the kale, broccoli and Brussels sprouts mixed with spinach. It's so great to have a healthy and nutritious combo of salad as a base. The choices for add ins are pretty dynamic. I recommend the lamb, hummus and all the little veggies/side salads. While it's priced more than I would like, it's actually worth it compared to some other places. Parking is iffy. But there is a lot up the street that provides 2 free during the day and a flat rate after 5pm. Everything is spotless which is refreshing to see.. Highly recommend.. read more

It was an honor to eat at CAVA for the second time. The first time I tried it at another location, I honestly didn't enjoy it. But this time, at this CAVA, Caesar the manager helped me pick out an amazing bowl--and it was absolutely fire! Not only was the food fresh and flavorful, but the customer service was top-notch. Caesar and the staff were welcoming, friendly, and really went out of their way to make sure I had a great experience. I come on my lunch pretty often (I get an hour lunch) and usually spend 30 min in line.. like ok whatever fine they're usually super busy and i come at lunch time around 12. This wouldn't bother me at all considering how busy they are, but when you finally make it to the front the person taking your order (literally NO MATTER WHO) is pretty pissed off to help you every single time. I order the kids pita and without fail the person taking my order rolls their eyes.. they also will literally look at their coworkers and roll their eyes to eachother in front of you (do that in the break room...????) i've worked so many customer service jobs and I totally understand that it can get super stressful and there sure are assholes, but to be blatantly rude to a customer who is being SO nice and normal is crazy. Everytime I leave I think of the odd experience I just had (and i've had many), but this last experience stuck out to me: I got the kids pita like I do and the guy literally threw my food in the plate in front of me, and then when I asked to purchase an extra sauce he goes "you only get one" and i said.. can I buy another..?? and he goes "um i'm sure you probably can?" all rude.. then helps the next person. THEN the next lady in the line (i think she might be the shift lead) looks at my plate, walks over to the guy that put the chicken in there and goes "hey do you see that?? In-person is alright but even during off hours workers aren't that competent. Especially when ordering from online, I have consistently recieved a smaller portion about half compared to when I order in-person and most of the time they forget to add everything into the bowl. I'm assuming they just either don't care or don't pay enough attention. This has happened every single time I have ordered online and it gets frustrating. Truly no major complaints but smalll little gripes that aren't their super fault do take this down 1 star though, like the lines at this location can get insanely long cuz it's smack dab in the middle of UCLA territory (but shockingly it is still easy to find parking!) & they frequently run out of stuff but again that's kind of out of their control to some extent. But it does effect the experience! My most recent trip though the line wasn't long and Madison (with the really cool green hair) PACKEDDD the bowls so much they could barely close so love her for that! Though their branding is confusing to me and looks like an outdoor apparel company, the food has vibrant fun flavors and a plethora of options all in a quick choose-as-you-go format. A couple of weeks ago I place an online order here that was supposed to be ready at 12pm. I waited and did not get my food until 12:20pm. I figured they just had a bad day although you could clearly see their system is flawed. They don't have a regular person checking to see if the orders that are ready and sitting on the counters are for any of the people waiting. They only call out new order names. So people waiting don't even realize that their food is already ready until much later. Also, I have only seen 1 person handling online orders for a heavy volume location. Recently, I placed an order for pickup at this location and it said it would be ready at 12:15pm. I arrived at 12:15pm and of course, it was not ready. At one point, there were around 15 people waiting next to me to pick up their food. A few gave up and left without getting their food. Silly me, I waited all the way until 1pm and still did not get my food. I finally gave up and asked for a refund. I was instructed by the manager that my refund would have to be requested through the online portal where i ordered it. I let him know that my order said that it would be ready at 12:15pm. He told me it's a virtual queue so it can get backed up. What doesn't make sense about that is that other people waiting (conversations started amongst us) had orders that were scheduled to be ready later than my time of 12:15pm but got their orders. The food itself at Cava is generally good. My rating is not about the quality or taste of the food. They just seemed to have a flawed take out system where orders aren't consistently ready by the scheduled pick up time, and it's likely that they often only have a single person handling take out orders. Poor guy looked overwhelmed and I don't blame him. The line for pickup and the process of letting people know when their order is ready is also flawed. If you don't show up when they call your name, your food goes on a shelf away from the pick up line and then your name doesn't get called again. In general, I don't recommend against eating at Cava, I would just avoid this particular location until they can improve their internal processes. read more

This is a really great place to make your own Mediterranean bowl! So many awesome items to choose from, and this location usually restocks their items well consistently. I love to get the bowl with grains and greens, chicken, red pepper hummus, roasted eggplant, tzatziki, and almost every topping they have available with free pita bread on the side. Their yogurt dill and harissa hot sauce are my favorite dressings to combine in my bowl. This is one of the most delicious and healthy options to choose from. I last ordered from DoorDash from the SM location and it was also made really well. Try it out! read more

Man, I've visited this location multiple times and normally it's great but it was not hitting like it normally does today. Looks BEAUTIFUL but tasted confusing; maybe it's my fault for adding too many toppings. Is the meat and pita usually cold? If I remember correctly in the past it was more of a warm bowl but today it's feeling straight up cold. Barely anyone here but the tables were dirty/not cleaned between users. It's a giant space with ample indoor and outdoor seating. I was pleasantly surprised by their much larger drink selection than I remember from my last visit (lots of teas and fruit juices). Bonus points for nugget ice! I tried the cucumber mint lime drink, although it had too much cucumber flavor for my liking. Staff was kind but seemed distracted. Overall disappointed with this visit. Might enjoy more when I go home and microwave it. Pro-tip: You can get half chicken / half veggie for the same price as full. I forgot to do this and ended up getting full chicken full veggie which is a LOT of food. You can also do half rice / half lentils, etc. for your base. I used to come to this CAVA at least once a week when I was in undergrad and was obsessed. I decided to come back to grab dinner with a friend on a weekday and was surprised to see a long line since I remember them being busy exclusively for lunch a few years ago. It took around 7 min to get to the front and around 5 additional min to get our orders ready which is still fairly quick considering the line. The staff was very friendly and efficient although they appeared to be slightly understaffed at that time for the volume of people. The restaurant is unchanged from what I remembered, was clean, with plenty of seating available but for some reason their AC was not on and it was unbearably hot inside. Luckily we were able to get a table outside where it was a little bit more fresh but I noticed some people wanted to sit down and could not since there were no more tables outside and the inside was too uncomfortable due to the heat. I got a build your own greens bowl with half chicken and half roasted veggies which was my usual order before. The portion was generous and filling. However, this time the food felt a lot more oily to me than it used to before which I did not love and made me feel pretty heavy. The flavor was still pretty okay but not as good as I remembered and they also forgot to put in the free pita in my order which they never had before. Additionally, on my way out, I went to use the bathroom and noticed that it was very dirty, which might be because it was towards closing time but I still feel like this could be a factor to improve for a better customer experience. I think if I had had to rate this place a few years ago I would have given it 5 stars no question, but based on my latest experience in isolation, I would really give it 3.5. That being said, I will likely still come back and hope my most recent experience was just a blip--this is one of my favorite places and I truly love the concept of their fast casual Mediterranean food! read more

I went to order lunch and quickly left. This place is unsanitary, and the workers must be trained about proper food handling. The guy with the black curly hair with multiple silver earrings in his ear, had a phone device in his ear. He was talking on the phone to someone while making the vegetables. He repeatedly put his hand in his ear, while talking on the phone, then continued to make the vegetables, without washing his hands. Translation: something from his ears may appear in the food he was preparing. He should take the call away from the food prep area, after the call is finished, wash his hands, then he can prepare food. This is absolutely disgusting and unsafe food handling!!!! read more

Built my own bowl- the pink pickled onions and tomato mix are two must-have toppings. Line moved quickly, and employees were very courteous. Will def be eating here again.
