Let me start by saying, prior to 3 days ago, I had had only positive experiences with Cava. I've been to locations in Pasadena, San Diego, and New York, and the service at those locations has been consistently good, and the food has been great. My experience with the recently-opened Hollywood location, unfortunately, has been very different. This past Sunday, my wife and I ordered for delivery via DoorDash. We ordered two bowls, one for each of us. When the order arrived, there was only one bowl in the bag, and the printed receipt affixed to the bag only had information for one bowl, not the other. My wife filed a complaint with DoorDash, and after some back and forth, they agreed to refund us for the missing bowl. We chalked this up as a one-off mistake by the restaurant. Today (two days later), I suggested we try again. We ordered through DoorDash again, this time using my account instead of my wife's. Again, we ordered two bowls. And once again, only one bowl arrived, and the receipt had information for only one bowl, not the other. This no longer seems like a mistake -- it seems like a pattern, and I don't like it. I spoke with our DoorDash driver, a very earnest young man. He said they had only given him one bowl at the restaurant, and I believe him. He asked me to call the restaurant while he waited, which I did, but no one answered the phone. I went out to pick up other food and figured I would sort this out myself later. My dasher, meanwhile, returned to the restaurant on his own accord and asked them to hand over the second bowl. He says the workers initially claimed they had given him everything. Only when he got angry with them and insisted that they hadn't did they then provide the missing bowl. He made a second trip to our house to deliver it, presumably on his own time, which was really above and beyond. I called the restaurant a second time, and this time I was able to speak with an employee. She didn't have any explanation for what happened, other than to claim that they had made both bowls initially, and that when my dasher came in, they "re-made" my order. No explanation for what happened to the missing bowl. And, of course, no explanation as to why the exact same thing had happened two days prior, when we ordered under a different name and had a different delivery person. For now, I am going to steer clear of this location and I advise everyone else to do the same. I'm not sure what kind of scam they are running, but it's very troubling. On the plus side, the food itself was up to the usual standard. read more

This is one of the cleanest, most organized, and friendliest Cava experiences I've had. They moved fast, and I got out of there so quickly. All of the food options were prepped and the portions were generous. It'd be amazing if the Pasadena Cava could get it together like this. read more

Please don't even waste your time. This is the worst CAVA I've ever had. The pickled red onions were almost clear so that means they are old. I requested that I received two scoops of each topping in my bowl and they only gave me one. I also ordered the regular chicken and the spicy chicken and they only ended up giving me the regular chicken and there was only a few pieces of it.. I don't understand why customers have to be right in front of employees face for them to make stuff correctly. My entire receipt list exactly how I want things. I also requested two sides of garlic and two sides of the spicy green dressing; Do you think I got them? The pita chips don't even look right they look like tortilla chips.. I've been looking forward to trying this place for some time and happy to say I finally had the chance! What a great place and welcomed departure from our usual salad place doors down from my office. I had the build your own bowl with greens, lentils, roasted veggies and a host of other toppings. How delish! I also tried their Pineapple Mint drink and that was great too! What a yummy place. WARNING: do not park in the big parking lot next to Cava that reads "Retail and residential parking". It's not for Cava. You need a key to get out. Parked there and getting my car was hell. Had to ask residents to let me use the elevator and got stuck at the gate for an hour ( the gate wont open unless you have the electronic key). Cava itself was out of napkins, I told staff they said they'll bring some but never did. The braised lamb was not bad and the strawberry drink was ok. I'm still traumatized though cause no wifi in that parking lot, I was completely stuck it was hell. read more

I usually come here and have great costumer service. But today was absolutely terrible and embarrassing. Not only did they make my girlfriend feel stupid for asking questions with their attitude, but they were more worried about buying a weed pen from someone than their own costumer service. She literally stepped off the line mid service and very much not so slick acquired it. The manager on duty had a nasty attitude and just made the experience overall sad. I don't know if it's new staff or what but it's giving trash the way they treat costumers. No decorum whatsoever. Kind of like chipotle but with Mediterranean flavors. I got the chicken bowl and some pita chips. There's almost too much flavor. As you choose 3 sauces and also dressing . But it seems you can make many different combos of tastes as they have so many more options. Will be back to try the steak and other proteins . The service was great . The server was really helpful. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, and their allergen options are very accessible (if you're gluten free/dairy free like me). Limited parking but that's everywhere in this area (if you don't want to pay for metered, plenty in the surrounding neighborhood with a 2-5 min walk).
