It is my first time trying CAVA and the Harissa Avicado hits the spot. I love the spiciness from the Harissa sauce and the avocado. The bowl is packed with so many different toppings and sauce. It is very filling for lunch. I also got hubby a bowl with the braised lamb and falafel, and those proteins were also delicious. The braised lamb was so tender and tasty. The only downside was that it was an extra charge of about $4. I would totally come back to try other bowls. I recommend ordering online and picking it up at the store. I came there at 1pm during lunch and it was a long line and took 45 minutes wmfrom when I entered to getting my food. read more

That was my first time ordering it and I did not know what is what and what to get. I told her I want half grains and half greens, but I was looking for the greens because they weren't where the rest of the food was but instead behind on the wall like a salad bar. And then she asked me which one i want in such a rude tone. And another one was when i was pointing at the sauces because i didn't know which one was which and my hands must have went over the board but it was really high up so she can see what i was pointing but she said don't cross over or don't point in such a rude tone. I love cava it's literally the best! The only issue I have here is that their wait time is always so long. Even if you order online, the food will never be ready on time. My husband and i were recommended this place and i love mediterranean food! My husband was happy because a lot of it was gluten free. Unfortunately the very first impression wasn't amazing - the workers were not welcoming or friendly. However, the woman helping my husband with his bowl did perk up when he said it was his first time there. The chicken was very good - i wish i had gotten the harissa honey - and generous portions. Wasnt wild about the pita although it was soft. I am too picky for this place unfortunately but my husband didnt like it that much either. The decor was cute. I've been to Cava a few times on the East Coast, but this was my first time visiting a West Coast location. Overall, the offerings were relatively the same, but I actually found the ingredients to be fresher back home. I ordered a grain bowl with half brown rice and half lentils. The rice was overcooked and had an odd crunchy texture. I think this was because it was some of the remaining rice at the bottom of that particular batch. I also found the lentils to be a bit dry. The chicken was decent, but nothing spectacular. What I really enjoyed was the ability to add a bunch of toppings to my bowl without an extra charge, although I do wish they didn't count the sweet potato as a second protein. My friends ordered the harissa chicken (note that they charge extra for it, which seems a bit ridiculous) and the falafel, which they both enjoyed. I don't think I'd come out of my way to visit this Cava, but it did seem to be pretty conveniently located. Not a bad option for a relatively healthy fast casual meal. read more

Yuck. Finished this bowl of slop 20 minutes ago and my stomach is rumbling. It's going to be a long afternoon. The food is uninspired. The service is awful and the ambiance is sad. Literally the paid equivalent of a healthy prison meal. I didn't worry about getting shanked in line, but I do worry about what effect this garbage will have on my health. Here are some lowlights: + It was lunchtime. No chicken was ready. +The main server, who was taking orders, seemed as miserable as a lunch lady in a middle school cafeteria. + The second server kept squirting dressing all over everything like he had a squirt gun and needed to empty it. +The decor is straight out of 1970 and it looks like it hasn't been attended to in anyway since then. This has to be the worst location I have been to. Back to back this location has been a mess in the seating area, on the counter where they serve food and the fountain drink area. Absolutely filthy and there is no excuse for that. The workers here have also provided horrible customer service back to back, even when it's not busy they look miserable for some reason and are extremely sloppy and rude. Throwing the food in the bowl then after it falls on dirty counter (looks like it hasn't been wiped down in days) and then after it fell onto the dirty counter he gets the tongs and puts it back into my bowl This never has happened at their other locations but here back to back it always happens. The soda machine has a crust of gunk on it like it hasn't been cleaned since opening day. Rude workers and always extremely filthy all the time. I like going here when I want something a bit healthy and light. Their portion is always generous. I always choose their grain and salad bowls. I like how you get unlimited toppings, up to three dips, and up to two dressings. I also like that you have the option to choose two different kinds of protein (half portion each). I like getting their grilled chicken and falafel. They also have harissa honey chicken, spicy lamb meatball, and braised lamb for an additional $$. The service is just ok. I came to this location twice. Once on a Saturday afternoon during lunch time and another time on a Friday night. During the time I went for lunch, I placed my order online and I came 5 mins after the estimated pickup time thinking my food will be waiting for me but nope I was wrong. I ended up waiting an additional 15-20mins. The line to place an order was really long during that time so most of the workers were focused on taking the in-person order and only one worker was working on the online orders. The wait to order in person was shorter than doing an online order so I suggest if you go during the weekend during peak hours to just order in person because you will get your order faster. The second time, I decided to place an online order again since I ordered at 9pm so I knew it won't be that busy at that time. When I arrived, my food wasn't on the shelf at the pick up station so I just stood next to it and waited for my order to be placed on the self. An employee then went and asked me what I was waiting for. I told her I was waiting for my online order. It looked like my order was just sitting at the kitchen the whole time. The staff is nice sometimes they're out of things so the line moves a little slow but nothing worth skipping for. However something about this location is always inconsistent. The A/C doesn't always work so even if it's cold outside it's warm and humid in the restaurant which is not always enjoyable. I've been here a few times where the drinks are completely empty and i'm not a fan of their sodas so I had to drink water instead (not a big deal just something that happened). First time here and I wish we had one in NorCal. I love everything Mediterranean especially hummus and tzatziki. I could eat here daily. Compared to some of the other similar places of create your own bowl with unlimited toppings e.g. Chipotle and Sajj. Cava stands out due to how fresh the items are and the variety it offers. My only pet peeve about this place was that I ordered on the app and came into pick up. They only had 1-2 people doing to go versus the 3-4 folks handling the line. This particular location was busy and messy. I decided to get the greens and grains bowls with chicken, falafel, and a few of their toppings and dressings. Overall, the chicken and falafel were delicious but I'm not sure if I enjoyed the entire bowl... I was picking around and targeting the lettuce, chicken and humus.
