Unfortunately, Cedar Creek has gone wayyy downhill in recent times. We used to go there several times a year to celebrate birthdays. It was always a pleasant experience... good food and great service. However, the last two times we've dined there, the experience was average to abysmal. The first bad experience, we just chalked it up to a fluke. The second time we had a terrible experience, we actually brought it up to the manager, Mr. Navarro(?). He was equally as bad as the food and service. He was insincere and couldn't care less about our experience. This sealed the deal and we'll never be back. I was at the restaurant for brunch on Sunday, February 15 and because I don't do dairy or gluten. I chose to have the tater tots. Didn't realize it was an up charge and when the bill came, it was a seven dollar charge. The tater tots were the worst I've ever had and the amount I got for the seven dollars was ridiculous. It would've been nice if the server would've at least said that it would cost seven dollars cause I wouldn't have opted for that. Very disappointing. read more

This place is top notch! I've dined here many times when they first opened in Brea. Also hung out for happy hour too. Last night met up with some old work friends and this place still is tops! Had the cedar plank baked salmon with a maple-soy glaze served with mashed potatoes and vegetables.it was very good & cooked right. Had the house red wine, Robert Mondavi Merlot. We also had appetizer sampler platter that consisted of cheese, Zuni rolls, calamari, & zucchini. My husband had the porcini crusted filet mignon and he was truly impressed. We even had a sumptuous dessert, a triple layer chocolate cake with vanilla bean ice cream. The service was awesome, great ambiance. This place is incredible. Happy hour seven days a week with good munchies and cocktails. We were part of six and our server Natalie should teach a serving course. We went for early girls dinner. The bar area was full so we decided to eat in main restaurant area. This is where it was weird- they wouldn't seat us at 3:45. Restaurant was empty so I think they waited for staff? Let's start with dessert because that is the most important part for me that evening. I wanted to try their coconut cake because it's my favorite flavor because it is a delicate and light cake. Their version reminded me of a butter cake with white butter creme icing. There are coconut bits in the icing but not the coconut flavor I was looking for. The service was good- we had soft bread and waters right away. I had the meatloaf and it was okay, not too salty. We order a few apps as well and they were okay. None of the food or drinks stood out were would inspired or eager to come back. If a friend wanted to eat there I wouldn't say no. read more

We came in on Saturday for my dad's birthday lunch. We've been here multiple times and it's always amazing. This time we had Kaylee as our server and she was on top of it. From making sure our drinks were topped off to accommodating special requests. She was prompt yet still super friendly. The ambiance was amazing as always. My first time ever going in sunlight but loved it nonetheless. The food was really good. My mom, dad, and boyfriend got the prime rib French dip and they loved it. I had the monte cristo. So yummy. I have been to this place about seven or eight times over the last two years. Can't seem to figure out why they're rating a so low. Every time I have been here the service has been good and the food is always been very good. This last time I was there, we had a large group of 15 people. Everybody's food was good, and we only had one waitress helping us and she was staying on top of it very well. The only knock I could give this was that everybody who got steak had their steak cooked one level up from what they ordered except for one person. She was so sweet, made us all laugh, and went above and beyond the entire evening. Best service ever! Not to mention every single bite of food was delicious, all 10 of us were raving about how yummy our food was! We got appetizers, drinks, different seafood dishes and cuts of steaks, and dessert, seriously everything was drool-worthy! Wow! In the best way possible! We had a private lunch event here in the back terrace room. I worked with Andrea (special events manager) to plan and get all the details together. She was absolutely incredible to work with. She responded to all emails/questions in a timely manner. She was there the day of the event for everything and anything I needed. Melissa and Bridgette were our servers and they were ON IT. Nonstop back and forth with orders from our guests, but they never stopped smiling and being professional. We received so many compliments from our guests about the service, set up and food. Most of them had never been here, but all said they look forward to coming back for a meal on their own. This was our 3rd time here and they have not disappointed. They have an amazing selection of Napa wines also, but we brought a special bottle of our own. The corkage fee is 25.00. Service was great and the garlic bread they bring out is so good. The fried calamari appetizer was the most tender I've ever had ordered a New York strip and it was cooked medium rare to perfection. We did have a few instances where we had to track down the server to ask for stuff but since our staff was friendly and funny and the food was good it was no issue. We had a huge party so I didn't try everything we ordered but here is the gist Tomato soup- superb. So creamy and flavorful. Salmon- flakey and good sauce. Potatoes average Tuna sammy- good tuna. Not too much mayo with a nice lemon tang. Turkey croissant - good. Nice portions Prime rib - good but could have been bloodier. Fries- fine. No real complaints could when used more salt. Pros: our party of 10 ate, drank multiple cocktails and had apps and the bill was about $325 so not bad at all. Negative was we brought a cake and they wanted to charge us $2.50 a person for plates to eat it. Also it did take a while to get through the meal. Overall would come back again and know I was going to get a good portion at a good price and enjoy it. read more

Was soooo unbelievably disappointed This is one of my all time fave restaurants - I was excited to celebrate a friend's birthday and it was her first time at Cedar Creek. We decided to order the chicken salad papaya to share, she ordered eggs Benedict and I ordered French toast. The salad was unseasoned, papaya was tasteless...worst of all, small black ants began appearing on the table. I killed one but decided not to complain; however, when one began to crawl across my salad plate - I killed it on the plate to show our server. Her reaction was unbelievable - she was nonchalant about it and still took my credit card for payment. I then showed her more walking across the table and it wasn't until I made the comment that no other patrons should be seated there did she seem to realize the seriousness of the situation. I'm terribly disappointed that she didn't even offer to remove the salad from the bill nor any other 'compensation.' Love this restaurant! My go to for business lunches off the 57 freeway. Service and food are always amazing. Shelley (server) has been there for years, remembers you, and is fantastic. Large, private booths that make it easy to have a conversation. They keep the restaurant temperature on the cooler side which I appreciate. On this visit, I had the smoked turkey zuni rolls ($13). The raspberry, chipotle dipping sauce was the star. I also had the cedar planked salmon ($25) which was perfectly cooked and delicious! We visit often here for dinner. The portions can be less or just as expected. All depends on what you order. The best we've had here is the prime rib. Surf and turf is a close 2nd but the portion not as large or filling as the prime rib. Miso salmon is a good alternative if you choose not to go the steak route. I personally was not a fan of the seafood pasta. The pasta had a lot tomatoes and mote it's not creamy. Calamari look like mozzarella sticks so you can fill up on this. Marcys divine salad was split and shared. I like this salad except there were a lot of diced onions in it for me. Almond pie is my favorite dessert and crème brûlée too. 10/2022 no crème brûlée on the menu. I do like the separation of the dining room and bar/lounge and outdoor areas. The musical performances are fun at the bar but if you want to spend a quiet dinner and decide to hit the bar afterwards it's a good option. read more

Our brie appetizer with a raspberry drizzle was delightful and light. My short rib braised beef was good but I personally like my meat more tender in bigger chunks for me to pull apart.
