However my recent visit was a bit disappointing and disturbing due to a bug problem (roaches) in which when the owner was informed had a bit of a passive attitude. When the owner was informed she sent employee out to where we were seated to kill the bug discreetly , almost immediately after that bug was disposed of, another bug was spotted. While visiting friends in Philly, they insisted we go here for Saturday brunch and raved about it the whole previous day. I'm happy to say that they did not exaggerate! We went around noon on Sat, so it was pretty busy and there wasn't much room for our group of six. However, a lovely couple saw our dilemma and offered to move so we could sit at the more accommodating center tables. That basically sums up the demographic here; everyone is so neighborly! We had a great conversation with the family sitting next to us while we waited for our food. Speaking of the food, it was awesome! I got the #10, which came with beef bacon, two eggs, and three french toast. I couldn't even finish it all! I was curious about the beef bacon, which ended up tasting pretty similar to pork bacon (aka delicious). It was cooked nice and crispy. While I don't normally put butter on my french toast, it came with butter already on it and was so nice and melty that I may have to change my ways. Perfectly golden and fluffy. It was a great deal for about $8. Our server Faye was sweet and attentive, and I speak for everyone when I say this visit MADE our Saturday morning. Everyone enjoyed their meal to the max. Came again for brunch - this time with a huge group of friends, about 16 of us. They were really friendly and accommodating, didn't make us wait too long, and gave us all individual numbers so that we could pay separately at the end! Such efficient service AND the food was delicious with overwhelming portions... I got a salmon steak that comes with scrambled eggs and replaced the homefries/grits with a hotcake. What nice place to have just a couple blocks from home! This was definitely something the neighborhood was lacking, a breakfast/lunch joint. And what a relief this place delivers good food at great prices! The service was friendly and the food is buttery goodness that gets your day started right. My go-to are the breakfast sandwiches with a side of home fries recently, but I'm sure I'll be trying out other menu selections. My only gripe is the coffee, which sometimes has a sour taste which isn't so awesome. I'm sure I'll be a regular here, which may make my regular "up-scale" brunch choices a little upset. Cedar Park rocks. Decent diner food, breakfast & lunch only. Servers & cooks alike are all great people. So glad they came back in this location after the unfortunate 2012 fire next door at Elana's. The other location in Overbrook is great too. Nice to be in a restaurant that looks a little bit more like the diversity of the neighborhood, by the way! Came here with the family when visiting he annoying little sister at UPenn. Food was delicious!!! I had the lox omelet (nova lox, capers, spinach, & red onions) and I added provolone cheese. It came with home fries (potatoes with red and green peppers and red onions) and my choice of toast (I chose potato bread). I also had a side of beef bacon......yup! Beef bacon!! And a side of sliced avocado. My kids, who are extremely picky about eating in "urban" restaurants, totally enjoyed their meals (child 1: steak, eggs, french fries. Child 2: pancakes, eggs, beef bacon, and french fries). The mister, who is close to impossible to please, had grits, corned beef hash, eggs, and potato bread and even he was satisfied! I've been to this breakfast spot a couple of times now and I've been dying to come back! We arrived during the Saturday brunch rush, but didn't have to wait too long to be seated (10 minutes). Once seated, I ordered an orange juice and #8 (2 hotcakes, eggs, turkey bacon, and home fries with the green peppers and onions). EVERYTHING was delicious but my absolute favorite was the home fries. They have a nice outer crisp with a softer filling combined with grilled onions and green peppers. It's by choice to get the green peppers and onions so make sure to mention it when ordering if your waiter doesn't. The atmosphere is super chill and simple as is the service which is provided with good dose of friendly. From past experiences, there have been moments that I've waited a while for the food to be served but it wasn't the case today. we came here based on a recommendation. we arrived and got seated pretty fast. it took about 10 minutes before anyone even took our order. and she was rushing us through the order taking process so fast that my gf didn't even get to finish talking before she started to ask me what i wanted. once the order got put in, it took about 30 minutes before the food came out. i got the eggs Benedict, which was trash. it was missing one full egg and was only egg white on muffin and the other egg was way over cooked. and then had the most amount sauce that any Benedict should have. no one ever came to check on us and see how the food is/was, no one came to ask if we needed refills, which we did. once we were done eating we stacked our plates neatly and waited and waited and waited a little more for our check. nothing. got looked over and walked past multiple times. finally our server came back after what was probably her break sipping her drink and asked if we were ready for our check. hrmm what ever gave you that idea? that service was hands down the worst I've ever had in a very long time. read more

One time was given Ham instead of Pork Roll but I think it was my fault because I asked for "Taylor Ham" which is a North Jersey translation of "Taylor Pork Roll" as it's more commonly referred to in South Jersey/Philly (as I understand). Located on the very wester edge of University City, Cedar Park Cafe, offers a variety of breakfast and lunch foods at very affordable prices. The veggie home fries are a must try! if you're more interested in a lunch-style dish, I highly recommend the BLT with the house made fries. The fries are seasoned perfectly! If you're planning on going on the weekend, be prepared to wait in line. The wait time varies, as it's mostly based on the weather. If it's a really nice morning, it isn't uncommon to see a line out the door and looping around the front of the building. The food is definitely worth the wait. Be advised, this is a breakfast/brunch restaurant, so they close each day at 3pm. read more
