My review is based on only one lunch time visit. The resort has a new chef that competed on the Food-network TV and was victorious on to beat Bobby Flay with a Steak Torta Sandwich so we had to try it. We shared "The Bobby Slayer" Steak Torta Sandwich. The Sandwich is very large and comes with THE BEST house made potato chips I ever had. Inside the sandwich is absolutely delicious, melt in your mouth skirt steak, Oaxaca Chiles, Crispy CHICKEN SKIN, Avocado Creama and cabbage. All the flavors are off the charts delicious. You got acid, heat, delicious and it might be one of the best sandwiches out there. It is almost a perfect sandwich the only tweak it can use is a smaller roll because the meat doesn't make it to the ends of the sandwich. But wow this really was a great tasting sandwich. ($16.00) This was close to a five star experience if I leave out the other plate we shared. I can not recommend The Baja Fish Sandwich. I enjoyed that is was made with quality fish (Ling Cod) and came with a nicely grilled lime. However these tacos lacked a lot of things. They were made on soft flour tortillas that would have been better grilled or warmed up. The fish sat on plain cabbage so it lacked a flavor it should have had like a vinaigrette or some cilantro. Cotija Cheese was sprinkled on the tacos but they still were on the bland side. A smokey flavored mayonnaise came on the side that was good but not enough to bring the tacos up to the level they should be at. ($14.00) I tried one super amazing great sandwich and shared a plate of tacos that weren't awful but really weren't the best. Could be a one hit wonder, but "The Bobby Slayer Steak Torta" is worth the Trip! Great service with an Astonishing View.

As it was the begging of the hot weather this spring, we were very grateful for the generous-sized table umbrellas. But first, we went inside the Bodega to order a Beer and a snack. They have a great selection of Beer and wine! And since we were still 2 hours or so away from dinner, we decided to grab a veggie & cheese board, which had a nice variety of cruditè and humas. It was very satisfying for 2 adults. We spent.a total of about 2 hours there and left there knowing we would be coming back to Janey's. Side note: For those of you who need accessibility, I myself am on an electric scooter for ambulating. The parking lot is dirt and only has a couple of handicap parking spots. But no space is more than approximately 150 ft from the entrance to Janey's. Once you get to the building, it is very easy to get in and out of the main bodega, with wide, level doorways. The doors were propped open when we visited. I did not utilize the restroom on this visit.

My blue burger was great. My son enjoyed his breakfast bowl. My sister's BLT was short on bacon. My other sister ordered a seasonal fruit bowl... the strawberries were very bitter. I ordered the new seasonal tea; it was great. I wish our server would have had better follow up on our beverages. The property is beautiful, quiet, and very clean, with plenty of space to relax. Even though we booked last minute, we were still able to get into several classes and activities, including a few we had been waitlisted for. Our room was also very nice and spotless. What truly stood out was the amazing staff. Kathleen at the front desk kindly helped check my boyfriend in early when my flight was delayed by five hours and the reservation was under my name. We also had a fantastic meal at Terras with Yolanda (highly recommend the Eggplant) and had a blast doing the high ropes course with Abe. The biggest thank you goes to Yessica in housekeeping. On the morning of checkout I unknowingly lost a one-carat diamond earring that even though was insured, I was devastated to have lost. I didn't realize it wasn't in my ear until I was almost at the airport and promptly called the resort. Yessica immediately organized a search, and although it wasn't in our bathroom as I originally thought, her team eventually located it elsewhere on the property near the restaurant/lobby. I am incredibly grateful to Yessica and the CIVANA team for going above and beyond to return something so meaningful. I will absolutely recommend this resort to everyone I know. You will arrived stressed and overstimulated and leave with a sense of calm, connection and with a restored faith in humanity.
