Went for Mother's Day and they had a set menu. The breakfast potatoes were some of the best I've ever had! Everyone really liked the hash skillet too. They did an excellent job of accommodating the gluten-free members of our group. They are knowledgeable about celiac and most of their items were already gluten free. They even had gluten-free carrot cake cupcakes for dessert. The only downside was that no one really loved the cocktails they ordered.

    Garlic Smoked Pork Noodles. Delicious!

Another 5 star meal here last night. Started off with the citrus pesto calamari. Great flavor and calamari was super tender. For my main course, I had the Garlic Smoked Pork Noodles. Wowza! Flavor galore! Highly recommended!!

BBQ Ribs ($29)...plenty of tasty food, but skimpy with the greens.

Conveniently located near URI, Celestial Cafe offers casual but refined dining - perfect for when parents are visiting students and picking up the tab! Our server, Cindie, walked us through the menu and expounded upon some of her favorite/recommended entrees. So many sounded interesting and delicious, including the calamari, eclipse, Thai cod, eggplant tower. We settled on the BBQ ribs and the fish and chips. Both were very good - the fish and pork were tender and accompanied by a generous portion of fries or mashed potatoes. The pickled apple slaw, served with both dishes, was very vinegary and contrasts the richness of the fried fish and pork. My only criticism of the ribs was the "seasonal vegetable," which was literally one skinny strand of broccolini. Their portions are generally ample, so the skimpiness of the greens was disappointing. Based on our first experience, I would definitely come back to try more of their offerings!

This place has been right under my nose for so long and I had no idea! Came in recently for a solo lunch. It's a decently sized room and a separate bar area. I picked a sunny table next to the windows. Got to try a vegan sweet potato enchilada and the Thai peanut noodles. Everything was delicious...perfect flavors. They have a nice drink list, and I love the local options (got a Whalers seltzer). Service was very good and the chef even came out at one point to thank me for coming in. I can't wait to come back and try more.

Food is so awesome but the prices are kind of a turnoff esp. The dessert menu $8.95 to 10.95 for dessert is rather high!!!

Creative menu executed well with reasonable prices. I eat out quite a bit and this restaurant was a nice hidden gem in western RI.

They have a great menu with pub style apps, burgers, and delicious entrees, a comfortable atmosphere, live music on the weekends, and just an over all great vibe. On my first visit, my friend and I both ordered the prime rib, which is a special on Saturday nights. The meat was tender, flovorful, and the portion size was great. It was served with a baked potato (with lots of butter and sour cream), and roasted green beans - all were delicious! Service was perfect - we never had to wait long for anything. Our server was friendly, prompt, and we couldn;t have asked for anything more. My second visit was with my husband and our two daughters. My daughters split the fish and chips and they said it was really good. My husband got chicken and waffles, and I got the prime rib again. Once again, the service was perfect, and the prime rib dinner was outstanding. My daughters went home after dinner, but my husband and I moved over to the bar as we wanted to stay for the live music. The band was called Rash Cat and we really enjoyed their performance. They were super talented and had great classic song choices, and the music was loud enough to provide a fun atmosphere, but also quiet enough that you could still carry on a conversation. I'd definitely go back to see them again. I'd like to come back again to try more of the menu items and to enjoy the outdoor patio & fire pit. What a great RI tavern for all seasons!
