One of my favorite places to go to, plus they are super kind and friendly to dogs. They have plenty of outdoor seating which is always an A++ when the the weather is popping. The food is really good, reasonably priced and the coffee is legit. I'm a big fan of their burgers and macha drink. read more

An amazing experience! We got the Iced Mocha with Almond milk and Iced Latte with Decaf/almond milk/lavender. The iced latte didn't sit well with us personally and the barista was so kind to remake a drink for us! Very thankful for her kindness. If I could pick up this coffee shop and move it home with me, I would. From the little sign out from, to the never ending outdoor patio, to the mismatched seating inside this coffee shop is everything. The barista was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We only got to try some iced coffees but wow were they good. She told us something special they do while making their cold brew but unfortunately I forgot what it was...but I firmly believe it made it more delicious. We snagged table on their lovely patio and played some cards and enjoyed the outdoors. We tried to stop back during our visit in Austin but unfortunately they were closed on Easter Sunday (good for them!) which was sad for us. read more

Lve this place. Great selections, always yummy, huge place with inside and outside tables. I'll be going back for sure. Great stuff coming out of this hip joint. Had a sweet and sour burger and it was legit. Wife had the banh mi sandwich which also great. Try care about their customers and food and it shows. Great place for coffee and hanging out too. Great wifi and so many drinks to choose from. read more

3 stars for the peaceful outdoor seating, would have been 1 star for the superrrr sub par sandwich & salad. My mom and I got the gobeet sandwich which is goat cheese, arugula, beet, onion, sun dried tomato pesto.. you would expect such a sandwich to be roasted, savory, delicious.. but everything in it is raw (beets are boiled?) and extremely bland, boring, and wayyyyy too many raw onions. We were both disappointed. Just putting roasted beets and onion on there would be a game changer for this sandwich. And then I did the combo with the kale salad which was basically the same thing.. mediocre dressing, topped with raw onions, beet, goat cheese and tomatoes and random pico. I looove salad and i had to force myself to finish this one just because it was so boring. I guess the positive side to this meal was that it was very clean and fresh, definitely not greasy. Stick with the hot meals. Saw someone get the bfast burrito and it looked amazing. I've had the local roots which ARE roasted- muchhhhh tastier. read more

I was looking forward to trying the place and very disappointed after the fact. The service was bad, table was filthy, food was mediocre, coffee was okay and the restroom was a disaster. Very nice place. The banh mi tacos were delicious. Loved the outdoor dining. Truly a delightful experience. Except I use a knee roller to get around. One knee on a scooter, one foot on the ground, with a handlebar for steering. Better than a wheelchair, but I get some sense of what a wheelchair would be like, wherever I go. Navigating that place took a lot of skill. I didn't fall. But I don't appreciate restaurants that seem to be designed as a test. Getting from the curb to the side door and back is a nightmare, and getting around the outdoor space there is ridiculous. No railings on any stairs. Worse, there was a wheelchair ramp, in a place that you could never get to in a wheelchair. I could have gotten to it, but I found another way. It looks like they had closed an entrance that would have been a lot better? I suppose there was some reason they closed that entrance. Maybe it was some city thing? I managed, but damn, if you're in a wheelchair and you're not up for a cruel joke, I'd avoid this place. read more

I wish I lived closer! Cenote has several very good gluten-free options (including baked goods!), a lovely vibe inside, and tons of seating outside. The staff was very nice and checked to make sure their chipotle mayo was gluten free as well. Try their turkey avocado sandwich you won't regret it! read more

Really delicious place for brunch! They have a few vegan options and I got the veggie sandwich without the chipotle Mayo to make it vegan and it was super yummy!! The outdoor seating area is really cute, but sometimes there can be a lot of bugs which is a little bit annoying. But overall super solid place to go! read more

We arrived on a Sunday morning and it was packed! It must be a popular spot for breakfast. We ended up waiting in line for 20jsh minutes before we could order. You order your food and they give you a number and someone brings your food out. The service is exact yall you quite efficient. I ordered the eggs Florentine and my bf ordered the burrito. I enjoyed the eggs Florentine and the portions were huge. I thought the burrito was good as well but couldn't taste the chorizo. It also lacked salt. I had my first "breakfast taco " ever at this cafe . It was a flour and corn mixed tortilla with chorizo cooked in a tomato and vinegar based sauce . It came with a scrambled egg , cheese and avocado . It was $3.50 and huge ! I like this place because it was recommended to me by a local as somewhere basic to get a cup of coffee and a snack . It was perfect for just that . People watching on the patio is interesting too . Clearly a lot of remote employees post there during work hours . read more

Very cool, hipster place to get coffee and a light snack in East Austin. I loved the vibe here. It is obviously a favorite neighborhood hangout at all times of day. Both times I visited I had the iced vanilla latte. It was delish! My favorite experience was the day they had empanadas as a special. I tried to bacon and potato empanada. It was not the empanada of my childhood in Panama, but it was yummy. There was a spicy guac type of dipping sauce that definitely gave it a kick. My favorite aspect of this shop was the people watching. There is a very diverse crowd that visits here and they were all extremely friendly. If you are looking for inside seating to avoid the heat...Good luck. Seats were one or two for the taking but groups are pretty limited to the patio areas. read more

This might be my new go to place ! Immediately cozy to me. I went solo, right after class to read some chapters and I ended up sitting outside. The landscape makes it justice . I ordered just a draft which is wonderful since if I wanted either a coffee, I could definitely order a cup. Unexpectedly no was able to finally taste the electric jellyfish IPA. In my experience when I see that it's it'd usually sold out, so it was delightful to finally have a taste. Also, they definitely are very over being 21+. came here for brunch with a group on a saturday. there was a line out the door, which was fine, but a bit slow moving. you order at the counter and get a number for the table, which is also fine, but definitely not the brunch vibe we were looking for. there were orders of eggs benedict, smash burger, hot honey chicken sandwich, and bahn mi tacos. everything looked so good. unfortunately, despite us trying different items, everyone felt like their dishes were just missing something and nobody was wowed. because it's counter service and no true wait staff, a lot of the tables were left dirty and you had to flag someone down to get stuff. we didn't get more drinks bc it would have been a pain to stand in line all over again. overall, the space is super cute and probably more ideal to grab a pastry and coffee and sit outside and read versus going to have drinks with a group. read more

I dream of this place. On a Sunday morning in NYC, filled with delicious brunch spots, Cenote is what I think of. 100%. If you are in Austin, I'm marking this as an absolutely must try. This is a locals spot. You see grad students working on their laptops, people writing screenplays, friends catching up after work, carb loading after yoga. Cenote has this absolutely Austin feel. What you need to try: 1. Chai latte - dirty. Get that espresso shot. It doesn't matter if it's iced or hot. This is one of the best chai lattes I have ever had. 2. ALL THE BREAKFAST TACOS. I love the migas taco for the texture of the tortilla strips. The chorizo has so much flavor. One taco can fill you but two will put you in a happy food coma. 3. $4 mimosa? Done. 4. Potatoes. 5. All brunch items are fantastic. $13 for tacos and a latte. That's the best price point for amazing food. This is definitely not a large group place. Parties of four or less are the best way to go. Also, if you're ordering a drink, remember to grab it from the counter before you sit down. Either way, Cenote is one of my favorite places in Austin and best breakfasts/brunches that I've had. Whether or not you're living in Austin or visiting, going to Cenote is always a good idea. read more

So overrated. I gotta say I'm pretty disappointed with how high the rating was before going here. I order the OMG breakfast and egg Benedict. Both are so blah and below average. Honestly I didn't see any extraordinary flavors in both the dishes. we also got matcha latte and a regular latte, also bla, have little to no flavor. You also have to serve yourself, order at the counter and pick up all orders yourselves so I don't even see the point of tipping. I only like the cozy atmosphere and cute outdoor seating at the restaurant. Their parking is also limited so you have to either park on the street or the church pArking in the back. read more

I rolled into town after (another) super early flight and needed to find a place where I could eat and drink coffee and work, and yet be comfortable. This place fit the bill, for sure. And vegetarians! Pay attention: Get. The. Beet and Bean. Veggie. Burger. This place was packed the entire day, and they have indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is off the charts for a coffee shop. The only thing it needs for those who work from coffee shops is better access to outlets. But the space is unique and the food is amaze. read more

That turkey sandwich. That turkey sandwich. Oh. My. Gosh. That turkey sandwich. Everything on that sandwich was so melodic. I may have to give This place another go-round soon, but other than the turkey sandwich, I was left relatively unfulfilled with the staff, cleanliness and coffee preparation. I was clearly there to stay for a while because when I ordered my cafe au lait and sandwich with a laptop tucked under my arm, i was asked if it was to go or to stay. Stay. To this, I picked out a cute booth seat directly across from where the drinks are served. So why did everyone else sitting in my vicinity get their coffees in a cozy mug and my cafe au lait in a to go cup. Maybe I was disappointed because I've seen the beautiful art the baristas design with the milk froth. I was also disappointed because I love sipping from those deep mugs at coffee shops. First world problems, I realize. But if there was a reasoning behind it, I wish I was told. Such as, "sorry, we're all out of mugs" or "oh, I thought your order was to-go". Cute outdoor seating and relatively limited indoor seating. Parking is decent on the street. Anyone wanna go back with me so I can change this 3-star rating to a 4 or 5?! read more

It's not bad, so it was worth the shot! Just grateful it wasn't too sweet. My BFF felt the same, as we're both horchata fiends from growing up in Chicago. Cherry Cider - The cider has a tangy taste. The cherry flavor isn't as strong, but it's a fragrant drink. The flavor slowly became sweeter the more I drank it. It grew on me, but it wouldn't be my go-to unless I knew I was munching on something salty that night. Violet Blueberry Blonde - My favorite of the two. This one has a tamer flavor with a nicer floral note. It was exactly what I asked for. I felt like I could've easily chugged a few of these. The guy at the counter definitely chose a great pick. I love the low-key ambiance of this place, the peaceful nighttime atmosphere, the fact that it's wedged into a cozy nook, and how it isn't so LOUD like many bars. Didn't get bit by a mosquito while we hung out there for an hour, so that's a huge plus. They were probably chewing on my friends' legs too intently to consider me, though. Tons of outdoor and patio seating, a few tables indoors in the AC. I ordered the Flapjack, hot, with double espresso in a larger cup, with half sweetness (effectively a large with less services). Delicious saltiness and cinnamon! I really enjoyed this. I tried the honey lavender latte which they said was the least sweet of their fort favorites. The lavender flavor was very forward and there was a hint of sweetness on the back of the tongue, so very accurate. I didn't get as much coffee flavor here so maybe double espresso if that's important to you. Friends also tried the seasonal coconut macadamia latte (they said it was nice, like a sweet nutty flavor). Really solid coffee spot with great vibes, I'd come back.

I bought two lattes - the seasonal blackberry crumble ($7) and the sugar cookie latte ($6), and although both had a good flavor, they both had all of the brown sugar that was supposed to be in them undissolved on the bottom and as best as I tried to dissolve it with the straw given, I had to wait until I was home (about 30 mins) to get a spoon to dissolve it. Personally I liked the sugar cookie latte the best! I would probably rate the coffee overall as a 7.5/10- definitely worth trying at least once! Service- 10/10 the baristas were very pleasant! Coffee-7.5/10 Parking- 7/10 (no parking lot but easy to find street parking on a rainy/slow weekday) Price- $15.16 ~ 2 coffees + tip, pretty standard for Austin

The Matcha latte I ordered was good - I'll be honest, I can only tell when a matcha is really bad or if the proportions are very off. I also ordered a vegan kolache, and was very surprised by the amount of flavor in the vegan sausage. Would definitely recommend giving it a try. Tried the Son of a Peach with cream cheese icing, spiced peach filling, cake mix topping, cinnamon and sugar with honey butter. This one was a bit too overindulgent and sweet for my liking but was definitely worth a try. Portions are huge and can be shared as the donut is not as good warmed over. Also the lasanga was excellent..and best part - the leftovers..took it home and the next two days put them in a small cast iron and re-heated them..and the magic was right there in my hill country kitchen! Lastly and certainly not least - the cannoli...just look at the photo below.. I'll say, yes, the place is pricey but you can really easily split these entrees and then it becomes cheaper than a jersey strip center Italian joint.
