We decided to celebrate Valentine's Day at Central Bar + Kitchen, and it turned out to be a fantastic choice! They offered a special Valentine's menu for the occasion, which was a nice touch--even though we stuck with items from the regular menu. From the moment we walked in, everything ran smoothly. We were seated and had our drink orders placed within three minutes of arriving. That kind of efficiency always sets the tone for a great evening. Our waitress, Ms. Evelyn, was outstanding. She was kind, attentive, and professional from the start. You can tell immediately when someone truly knows their craft, and Evelyn absolutely does. If you dine here, I highly recommend requesting her. We kicked things off with the Spicy Deviled Eggs. Delicious! I've never had anything quite like them--both interesting and excellent. The flavor had just the right kick without overpowering the dish. My only small complaint of the evening? Four eggs felt a little pricey. But taste-wise, they absolutely delivered. For our entrées, I had the Smoked Grilled Beef and Cheddar, and my wife ordered the Fish and Chips. Both meals were served warm and quickly, and both were excellent. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. To top it off, I had the chocolate cake à la mode for dessert--rich, indulgent, and the perfect ending to the night. The atmosphere was just right: great ambiance and music at the perfect volume so we could actually talk without shouting across the table. For a Valentine's dinner, that made all the difference. I was looking for a great place in Nashville West End near Vanderbilt Stadium. Central Bar & Kitchen was highly rated so we decided to give it a try. I looked up the menu and everything sounds good and thought there were enough options for my partner who is a vegetarian. I started with a cocktail a Sazerac. It was simple nothing special serve chilled but no block of ice. Then we ordered our appetizer the spicy deviled eggs. It definitely lacked presentation. The vegetarian meal that we ordered was bright and had good flavors but sounded a little better than it tasted. I went for the burnt ends and fries. The good news is the burnt ends weren't dry but they were just average. The one thing that I wasn't aware of was that this restaurant was in a hotel so the ambience of it all was just a little lacking for a nice dinner out. On a plus side our waitress was fantastic and there was some music that we could listen to for dinner. Overall, this did not meet my expectation. read more

We stayed at this hotel over the weekend and ate at this place several times for lunch and dinner, which says a lot as we don't usually want to eat in the hotel that much. Our best meal was our first night when Kirby took care of us - he gave us great recommendation for our dinner and even played a song for us. That night I had the green goddess salad with salmon and my husband had the New York steak special with chimichurri. Both were excellent. Burgers were also good as well as the eggs Benedict and beef and cheddar. For breakfast, I wasn't a big fan of the peppered bacon but they cooked my eggs perfectly every time. The flat iron steak was really tender but we felt for the price they should have had something other than fries - maybe mashed or baked potato. Arrived into Nashville after 4 pm on a weekday, staying nearby at Homewood Suites. For health reasons trying to avoid barbecue, which in Nashville is near impossible. Selected Central Bar+Kitchen which is located inside a Marriott hotel. We were early for dinner so we had any choice of table. The receptionist was also our waiter. We shared a nice Caesar Salad w arugula. An app of crab hushpuppies, which was very tasty. Entrees was a salt and pepper salmon on a bed of cauliflower rice and some asparagus and a pork Cubano sandwich. The bread was a bit too thick, and the cubano needed a little dressing to moisten the bread and pork. Overall meal was nice. Quiet, classy, but no view, blocked by a closed outdoor patio. Staff attentive and the manager came out a couple of times to check on us. read more

While staying at the Vanderbilt Marriott we enjoyed breakfast here a couple of times and the food was pretty good. The service can be slow and understaffed, but the people are pleasant and friendly. The menu is interesting and unique, especially for "hotel food." The décor is fresh and up-to-date. Prices are typical of a hotel restaurant. Breakfast potatoes were excellent! Heirloom tomato salad was just ok, as the tomatoes weren't very fresh and one slice still had the hard core in it. Vanilla bean in the yogurt was really tasty. Definitely worth stopping in, especially if you're staying at the Marriott. read more

Just had drinks this visit but they were very well made and the bar staff was very nice! Plenty of options and the staff also is able to make off menu items. Parking garage is $1 per hour so very cheap! read more

Was traveling in Nashville and went here on recommendation from a friend and had an incredible experience! Kirby Lyle was tending. He recommended the enchiladas; they were superb. He recommended a drink, "the Dave's I know;" it was exactly what I was looking for (being a Dave, I'm probably biased). He even played some CCR on his guitar for us! Evelyn came in, took our orders, and served us our drinks and appetizers quickly. The service was great, and Evelyn helped make this experience enjoyable! I only thought the cocktails were mid. I ordered an espresso martini, and it was subpar. The rest of my table also felt similar about the cocktails that they ordered. The others at my table who ordered the beers (chicken scratch and blonde) said they were good! So, I think if you're in the mood for a beer, or glass of wine then this is a good place to come and chill, but the cocktails aren't worth it. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience! read more
