Cute little place to grab a drink! My boyfriend and I stopped here to meet friends that were in town. The service was fast and the drinks were good. I ordered a greyhound and was super impressed. It was a small restaurant inside a hotel with few outdoor seating. The service was slow and appeared under staff. The quality of food was just ok. Nothing to sufficient to say. I feel a typical hotel type of food tasting. However, when you have a good server with a good smile, then you know everything could change. I try to like whatever is put in front of me. Trying didn't help. After an extremely long travel day I was tired and hungry. I understand short staff but the waitress took a good a while and seemed put out to take the order and delivery my meal. I ordered a burger and it stayed with me the rest of the day like a rock. The burger had more of a boiled look and texture. No sear or color, other than...grey'ish. The cheese wasn't fully melted and the fries had no seasoning or salt. I would have asked for salt had I seen the server again. I couldn't choke down more than half and then I had to seek out someone to pay my bill. Finally found a helpful bartender. I wanted to leave a zero star review but you have to give at least one. So do some math and subtract one to get my real star total. read more

This place has a lot of potential but sadly seems to be affected by the staffing problems everyone is facing. Our server was nice enough and tried to be helpful but our drinks took forever and the food was luke warm. That being said, it wasn't really all that bad, and we still managed to enjoy our meal and have a good time. We opted for the Valentines day appetizers which were delicious. The Lamb lollipops stole the show and were hot and crispy versus the bison meatballs which tasted good but we're cold. How the lamb was warm and the meatballs cold, was perplexing. For enteees, we got the NY Strip, Seafood Linguini the Salmon, and the Burger. All our food tasted good and left us feeling full. Because we did get the Valentines appetizer and entrees, we should have gotten the dessert as well, but Nope. My friend tried to order the blueberry cobbler but they were out. On the three different items we struck out on (drink, entree, and dessert), we weren't told it wasn't available until minutes later when the server or a different server had to come tell us. The server intuitively split the check for us, but it was slightly presumptuous and actually felt a little awkward for our personal dining style since we like to either trade off paying, split ourselves, or do the cliché fight over the check. Bottomline: The communication and coordination between kitchen, bar, and dining room staff needs to be improved for this restaurant to be a 5/5 for me. read more

The restaurant was pretty empty when I stopped by for brunch on Saturday morning so I was able to get a table easily. My sister and I both got the chicken sausage and egg white sandwich, which was so yummy! I loved the chicken sausage patty and the jalapeño relish on the sandwich went together perfectly. It was very affordable too and I had no complaints. Despite the restaurant being empty, the server was a bit slow to come check on us and bring us the bill but we were not in a rush so it wasn't a big deal. So, our evening there began with a fuss over the lack of bona fide van-accessible parking for me (retired vet who happens to be paraplegic). Thanks to the manager, Courtney, and our amazing server, Stacy (shout out to Trinidad & Tobago), the hot crisis was brought to a low simmer and we were seated right away. The food was amazing! We didn't know this was inside a hotel. It was the Marriott. The place was great. We loved the ambiance and they even had live music. The food was delicious. My firmed had a half chicken with mashed potatoes and I had a spicy chicken sandwich. It wasn't spicy and that was perfect for me. The service was outstanding! Evelyn was so nice and so much fun to chat with. We wished we could have stayed longer. Plan to visit again the next time we are in town. Oh, the prices were really good for the quality of food. My hubby and I came here for date night one evening and it did not disappoint! We started out with drinks at the bar while we waited for a table and the bartender was super friendly and made great cocktails. Once we got seated at our table, our server Rounak took really good care of us throughout the evening. We ordered the Shishido peppers to start, followed by a Burger and Salmon, and ended the meal with a blueberry cobbler which was SO good, warm, and comforting. Food was great- we had the green goddess salad with chicken, half chicken, and burrata bruschetta. We came in right at opening for dinner on Saturday, so it was quiet. Salad had a little too much dressing, but a good combo of lettuce black beans corn tomatoes. Quinoa chili - could have been warmer, but still delish room temperature. There was a cute container of sour cream which was a nice touch. Would have been 5 stars if the reception person was friendly or cordial. The restaurant is inside the Marriott hotel. They have complimentary fruit flavored water in front in case you're thirsty while you're waiting to be seated. The atmosphere is quiet and elegant but the prices are reasonable. My waiter, Connor, was very attentive and polite. read more

Zero stars if I could. This has to be one of the worst meals I have ever eaten and terrible service too. The waitress, Kristeen, never came back or asked how the food was, but we ordered sweet corn dip, a Nashville hot chicken sandwich, and chicken and hatch green chile enchiladas. The chips served with the dip were rancid, the sandwich served tepid with lukewarm fries, and the enchiladas were completely disgusting - cold rotisserie chicken with cold cream cheese and cold hatch chiles in tortillas that were soggy in the center and hard at the edges. My daughter and I went to this place for Christmas dinner. Let's start with the drinks. I asked for Pepsi and received a flat Pepsi from the bar, no carbonation at all. This was returned to receive another Pepsi from the kitchen area that tasted like the lines never been cleaned/changed in 20 years. I opted to purchase a bottled Pepsi from the front desk area. Now to the food. I ordered salmon with potatoes and asparagus. It was ALL over cooked and charred. The salmon was so dry I was shocked they severed it to me. My daughter ordered some type of chicken sandwich which was served as a chicken breast on a plain bun. No condiments, no garnish, no nothing. If you're used to quality food this place is NOT it. Oooooo y'all I'm always excited to try out new restaurants and Central Bar and Kitchen did not disappoint. It's tucked away in the Marriott Hotel by Vanderbilt's campus and is a gorgeous place to eat. I went with the Supernatural Salad, which had organic greens, cherry tomato, fennel, snap pea, apple, blueberry, parmesan, crispy quinoa, and white balsamic. They asked if I wanted to add chicken or salmon to it, and I figured why not add salmon, and I'm so glad I did. Long story short, Central Bar's food gladly made the clean plate club for me. read more
