The wax service was completely terrible and she tried to gaslight me saying this is how my eye brows are shaped normally. The wax and the creams are not sterile and whatsoever and I got such a terrible reaction. I hate how they look and now they're so irritated. I've always had bad luck with nail salons but I've been coming to central nails for about a year and I love this place! Very good prices and good at French tip which is what I usually get. I'm always picky about how the French tip looks but they did it amazing the first time so I didn't feel annoying having to ask them to fix it lol. I am solely typing this yelp review on behalf of my sister's experience at this nail place. ~ -The nail techs simply did not give her the shape and size she wanted for her nails ( she wanted medium squoval nails and they gave her long coffin nails). When it came to choosing the color the nail techs kept choosing colors for her after she had already set her mind to a color she wanted. It took a lot of convincing to get the color she wanted and they still reluctantly applied the color she had chosen. Service done by Loan Tran I understand English is not most of the ladies' first language but the lady that helped me didn't do my nails at all like I wanted. No communication either... I wanted a dipping powder manicure (on MY nail) but I got tricked into getting nail tips put on me (because she said she couldn't do dipping powder on my short nails; said she had to put a nail tip), then dipped in dipping powder, then putting gel on top.. none of which I wanted I let it slide thinking she's going to trim them down as short as possible to match my natural nails but as much as I told her to go shorter, she didn't. After an hour and a half (because dipping powder is a long process), she puts the final coat of clear GEL and puts my hands under UV light (which is what I was trying to avoid hence why I requested dipping powder). She then uses acetone to do the final clean and my nails were sticky, like she had done something wrong. She had to reapply the clear GEL three times and the third time they weren't sticky. I come home and not even half an hour later, my left middle finger clear coat is chipped... Ask me how much I paid for all this.. $35! Left a very unhappy customer and now I have to show my face there tomorrow to fix the chipped nail.... great... read more

I cannot believe this place has such a good rating. I went in at 2 pm for a new set and left at 5:30, bleeding and in pain. I broke a nail while on holiday in Anaheim so I came here because the reviews on all sites were good. I had just had my nails filled 2 weeks prior at my place in Australia but decided to just get a new set done. I don't know the name of the girl that was doing mine, but she caused so much pain. For starters, the lady tried to take my nails off with clippers and then went "oh I'm so scared" and then proceeded to rip my nails off. The difficult ones were soaked for a couple of minutes in a bowl of acetone before being ripped off. That acetone was then added straight back into the bottle. This became a common occurrence with all of their products. After removing the acrylic, she then used tips that were way too big for my nails and took 2 hours shaping them and they are all different. I have long skinny fingers so it's hard to make them look big but this lady made it happen. Not only that but she filed my skin. She cut me with the file and KEPT GOING! I honestly feel like I'm going to end up with an infection. The icing on top of the cake of this horrible experience was the fact she managed to get polish all over my hand. This was the worst salon trip I've ever had and I've had some bad ones. read more

Lately I have been going from place to place trying different nail salons in a effort to find the right nail technician. So far every salon had disappointed me but not Central nails! Not happy with my experience. I came in for a manicure and asked if they had the dip powder French tip and was told yes they did. When I went in the lady that started my nails had never seen that type of gel and proceeded to try lifting off taking with it most of the tip of my nail. After she realized that my nails were real she then tried to get the gel off by wrapping them which didn't work well so she filed them . She then gave up and left me for someone else to finish -- I mean she had already messed up my nails why stop. When the other lady took over she further continued to file my nails. Finally it was time for the dip gel only to find out that they only dip the clear and then paint over the top . I don't like the regular gel as it would just peel off so not sure why I would be down for this. Needless to say I won't be back read more

Extremely rude and unprofessional setting. They have no sense of their customer's time. I came in on a Sunday, no appointment, asked how long the wait was and was told "you will be next". Meanwhile, there were a couple women who walked in and were serviced immediately, assuming they had appointments, but there was no reassurance on that from the staff. I knew that would add time, so after 20 mins of waiting I asked how much longer it would take, to which I never got a response. After 30 minutes, they sat me in the pedicure chair and had me soak my feet..for almost 15 minutes. No one assured me or came to update me of a time. So I asked for a towel to dry my now pruney feet, and put my shoes on. One woman asked me where I was going and I responded with how disappointed I was about the wait (now being over 45 mins), and that I was leaving. What bothered me more was that there was no empathy for how I felt. A simple "we apologize for the long wait" would've sufficed (and changed the whole tone of this review), but despite all the separate times that I asked for an update, there was either no response or a "soon" gesture to shush me up. Wow, I've NEVER had a worse manicure in my life. Can I take stars away? I walked in, with 3 week old gel on my fingers. The lady who I was assigned to, gently filed some of the top coat and then put very little acetone on the cotton on my nails to lift the gel. She then quickly tried to scrape off the gel, giving it no time to process. So she did the same process again, giving no time to let the acetone work. She then asked if she could use an electric drill I unhappily said yes. She did, finally put a little more acetone on the cotton and again didn't give the acetone time to process. She finally got out a larger rougher nail file and filed off a good 90% of the gel because she could never get any of it to scrape off. As far as cleaning up my cuticles- I'd give her a 2-3. I'll be going home and cleaning them up more. Then let me tell you about polish!! Omg!!!! Every finger every coat she had to go back with acetone and clean up my fingers because she kept paining skin. Once my gel top coat was on, she just put cuticle oil no acetone to clean off the gel residue. I did that at home. Lastly, the arm/hand massage, felt more the she was just giggling my arm. The worst mani massage I've ever gotten. It's sad, I used to come to this place all the time when I got acrylics done and was always extremely satisfied. So since I was home on a weekday and off early from work I thought I'd go instead of going to the place I go to by work. Ngoc was the first name on her license. She's an older lady who sat in the very back. Needless to say, I won't be returning. **update** I was just feeling the edge of my nails, they are NOT smooth, very jagged and rough. I come during the weekday evenings; it's usually empty. The place itself is really clean. I love their spa pedis. Other places I've been to have either 1) clip my skin or 2) so gentle to the touch that I start giggling. At central nails they spend about 45 mins to an hour, but then again it's not during peak hours. They're careful and precise which I love. The massage chairs are very comfortable too. I really enjoyed this place! Such a lovely set of woman working here. I got a full set with gel and they lasted such a long time now! It's been two weeks and no lifting or anything. I wish I took a pic when I first got it but am very surprised with the price and quality! All my past experiences with all nail salons have at least lifted some sort of way. I'm a first time customer here and Annie did my nails. I'm more of a simple gel polish type of girl but today i went for acrylics. I specifically asked for the acrylics to touch my cuticles because I've seen some places that purposely leave a gap so their customers have to return sooner for refills. This is my 2nd time getting acrylics for an occasion, and ill have to say she was great at what she did. If i like getting my nails done I'd keep coming back.
