Nine Pine Cider And Vegan Chili

Had a chance to check out this Schenectady bar. It seems to be a long time local favorite around here. Center Street Pub is a great place for watching a game or anything. Lots of stuff to drink from beers and whatever else. The food is also much better than you would think it would be too. A good pub has lots of beers. It's certainly the case here. There's tons to choose from to be sure. It's about $7 for most pints. There's lots of local ones to choose from, including Frog Alley and wherever. Also there's tons of classic old beer cans to check out. These are up on all the walls. Food is better than expected. There's quite a few surprises. It's about $5 for a cup of the Vegan Chili. This has quite a spice. Good better than average bar. It's nothing fancy but it has a fun atmosphere and there's plenty of room. The food menu is friendly to vegans and vegetarians.

Centre Street Pub is a rip off! I paid $13.20 plus tax for a chicken caesar salad and look at what they sent me. They should be embarassed of themselves serving this! No croutons, no chicken, just shredded BROWN lettuce. Look at what they advertise on Doordash compared to what I got!

Centre Street is a location I've visited a dozen times over the past handful of years, and each visit increases my fandom for the location. Both the indoor and outdoor dining areas are spacious and comfortable, making it a nice spot for visiting when roaming Schenectady with a group. I've also found myself turning to Centre Street when visitors come to town. The beer (and cider!) selection is always robust; I've never visited and not found a selection for my picky-brew taste buds. A full bar is available for the non-beer drinkers, too. The menu has definitely improved over time, IMHO. (Honestly, I do remember thinking "meh" when I first visited back in my early vistis - but that has clearly changed.) Sandwiches, Burgers, Salads, and Appetizers - I've had some major hits over the years with standouts being a triple P - Pierogies, Poutine (regular or Buffalo Chicken!), and Pizza (made in Centre Street's wood-fired brick oven - a nice location to cozy up near in the winter, if you ask me.) Recently, I ordered take out and the Bluto Chicken Sandwich was out of this world delicious. Panko crusted THICK chicken breast on a beautiful brioche bun with the exact right flavor stack of crisp lettuce, tart pickles, and perfectly spiced chipotle aioli - DELICIOUS! Something I will reorder, for sure. and can we talk about THE FRIES...I loved them so much I decided a summer search of Top Five Fries in Schenectady is now in session.

A nice outdoor locoation adapting to the changing times of Covid 19. With a outdoor area equiped with outdoor heaters, you can assume that patrons will be enjoying their IPA and Lagers into the fall time. Plenty of space at the bar along with patio tables and portable fireplaces you'll have to invite your friends to enjoy the beers, mix drinks or wine that everyone can enjoy while having some bar food like nachos and poutine. We did order those two and they came out piping hot with a good topping of gravy and cheese along for the poutine and beef asada for the nachos. The nachos were seasoned well and had some heat that made me grab that pint so much faster. All in all a good time.

First off, I love Centre Street, it's going to sound crazy but it's been such an important place in my life! I've been coming here since my first date ( with my now husband) , it's not been over 4 years and I have only ever had one sub par experience. It's my favorite place to get garlic parm wings, pizza is a great choice, staff is friendly, always a great selection of beer. This sandwich was a crispy chicken sandwich, GREAT CRISP! The tart dill pickles are a great flavor addition and the chipotle aioli gives a nice creamy spice. It's by no means a hot/Spicey chicken sandwich but delicious. The fries weren't as good- but I honestly blame it being in a To go container. Seasoning on them was wonderful, they just got a little soggy

Very impressed by Centre Street Pub Very easy ordering process with the friendliest bartender I've ever met. People complain they don't like the process here but I think it makes things so much easier. They handed me a puck that lit up and vibrated to let me know my order was ready super fast! In case you are confused it says right on the puck where to pick up your food. Ok so the food....The best boneless wings I have ever had hands down. Garlic parm spicy sauce. Buttery, crunchy flavorful exterior, yet delicate and moist. Perfect amount of heat. I got the full order and it's a huge portion. The appetizer portion would probably still be a good amount. They also have a super big selection of interesting beer on tap. The bar is large and there is a lot of space also table seating. They seem control the music and it's a nice mix that makes everyone happy and it wasn't uncomfortably loud.

This was an UberEats delivery. I ordered the Chicken & Waffles and some hot boneless wings. The chicken was pretty good, especially the waffles. The boneless wings were VERY soggy, as if they were nuked in a microwave. I expect wings to be crispy and deep fried. Perhaps they don't travel well once they are packaged in the container. However it's only a 5 minute drive from my home. I will definitely try them again, considering the possibility of traveling making the wings soggy. For now, I'd say skip the boneless wings and go for the chicken & waffles.

The City Beer Hall fits the bill. Located on Howard Street, the City Beer Hall has the local hangout vibe for professionals in town like me and locals wanting a beer and a pizza and fun times. The building at one point housed the city's old telephone company, and now is a cool pizza bar joint with a speakeasy that wasn't open when I went. The large room that houses the bar and long communal tables with high ceilings and large windows is like a Biergarten that is works great for happy hours and evening hangouts. Pizza wise, I was pleased with their Hot Honey Pizza that balances sweet, savory, and spicy flavors between its delicious crust, pepperoni, creamy ricotta, tomato sauce, mozzarella, fresh basil, and a lovely drizzle of hot honey. I enjoyed the pizza with a Ommegang Blueberry Falls that was a "Blueberry Kolsch" whose crisp and slightly sweet flavors balanced well against the spicy and savory I was noshing. The only downside was I found the service behind the bar to be a bit slow and distracting from conversations with other customers. I felt I was forgotten until I finally flagged for the check. But overall, the City Beer Hall was a solid experience highlighted by their hot honey pizza.

It was all edible, but there were problems with every single thing we ordered. We started with the marinated mushroom & sausage flatbread: one of the better items and fairly tasty with a tomato sauce base, could have used a tart element like a balsamic drizzle to wake it up a bit. My husband got the Korean bbq burger, which at $27 was honestly a bit insane and doubly so when it wasn't good. There's not a single thing that was wrong, the whole conception is an epic fail. A beef burger should not have an intense taste of soy. Sorry, harsh but true. The exorbitant price is insult to injury. The ham and cheese croquettes should never have been offered with the cinnamon sugar dusting. Another bizarre pairing that makes no sense in your mouth and adds nothing. The dijonnaise was good if a bit mild... amp up the savory flavor and put more ham in the mix with a touch more salt please. Finally, the Public Salad was a good base but needs a bit of a vinegar component to make it sing. I'd recommend red wine vinegar, just a small splash in the dressing. Overall enjoyed it and the chicken was adequately moist. Thank you for having us.

The Blackberry Basil drink was also delicious, which says something as I'm a picky cocktail drinker! I ordered the bucatini which was flavorful with specialty mushrooms and whipped feta. The description slightly varied from what I received as I didn't see any of the nuts described but it was so good I'll overlook it. My husband had a buttery bass which he enjoyed. This restaurant has a lot of things going for it which appeal to me. They do need to clean up their web information, and with that, the associated Yelp information. Both list the weeknight opening time as 5pm, and yet in different spots, they list a weekday happy hour starting at 4pm. Other snippets of conversation I overheard imply they have to make a few other menu updates. But as per my review, that didn't adversely affect my opinion of the place at all. We did, in fact, show up during the "happy hour period prior to 5pm," and we sat at the bar for drinks, for happy hour foods, and for our dinners. The happy hour menu is vague for cocktails... "well crafted cocktails" will be discounted, but you really have to ask which ones get the discount or not. We were content to order some of their regularly crafted cocktails. We were inundated with menus as well, one of which we got by mentioning it was our first visit there. That had two of immediate interest, the lobster and scallop crusted salmon, and the quail. I had never had quail, so of course I had to try it, and it was delicious (as was the salmon, which I also got to sample). I can't comment on table service, since we sat at the bar for the entire evening, but that was quite enjoyable... friendly service, made to feel welcome immediately, great conversation among staff and patrons. I look forward to exploring more of their offerings on future visits.

We ordered more food that we probably should have, but it all sounded so good, that with the winter menu coming to a close, we knew we would likely not have a chance to order it again. We chose to sit at the bar, and enjoyed a whiskey and pisco sours, made with actual eggs. The open kitchen is a nice touch, and it was nice to see the well staffed restaurant handle the Friday night dinner crowd. Portions for most dishes were a generous size, and we enjoyed the variety of choices.
