I've been here a couple times thanks to a friend. I've such a weakness for Chinese food so I stopped by again for some food, I got the full order of the orange chicken and the pan fried noodles. The orange chicken is pretty good, it always hits the spot but the pan fried noodles had WAY too much sauce on it that it even made the vegetables a hassle to eat. Follow the instructions on the back door, and go to the front! We however did not follow instructions and walked past a huge cart filled with dirty dishes. We sat down, it took awhile to even get a menu when no one else was even in the restaurant. The lunch special if kung pao shrimp had 2 shrimps in the whole dish. If I could give it 20 stars, I would. Easily the best, most filling Asian food I've ever had. I typically order once a week or so. It feels pricey at first, but you will have leftovers. They also have smoothies and various drinks, which they'll add the tapioca balls into upon request, and they deliver! Really can't stress enough great things about the restaurant. Have ordered 5 times in the last seven weeks and the only issue we've ever had was they ran out of tapioca one night (and still delivered our drinks, which we wouldn't have wanted if they were out of the tapioca). This place is pretty good. The service is fast and we tried a few items from the menu. The hot and sour soup was really good and it was vegetarian. The fried wontons were good too a bit sweet for my taste. We had salt and pepper tofu and that was great (deep fried tofu with fried peppers and green onions on top). The spring rolls were ok-nothing special but I know they were made to order as they came out very hot! For main dish we shared the garlic spicy eggplant, which was good. It was very saucy (brown Szechwan garlic sauce) and it was topped with green onion. Had to order rice (did not come with the dish). The portions are very generous. 2 of us couldn't finish the eggplant and had left overs to take home. The prices are reasonable. All this came out to $30.75 (including tax). It's a nice place, but not fancy enough for a date. The acoustics are weird in that you can hear what's going on in the kitchen. You can hear pots and pans, chopping, and plates/cutlery. Delicious food! Every time I order from here, I try to pick something new from the menu. I am satisfied with my choice each time! Everything is really tasty and a great amount of food for the price. The service is okay. It gets really busy and it's hard for them to keep up with the orders to go and the table service. It doesn't bother me because I love the food. Sometimes you have to wait 45mins to an hour for food to go but I'm completely fine with it because my food is freshly made and delicious. Tried it for the first time last night. I had my mouth all set for Lotus Vegan and I forgot for the 5,000th time that they're closed on Mondays. YACK! Then I thought, hmmm, maybe I should try Burning Banzai for the first time and spent a while deciding what to try there. ALSO CLOSED ON MONDAY! YACK YACK! Looked around and realized I've never tried Century Dragon, although I've driven past it a thousand times. Phoned up---delivery order. Friendly lady took my order----I wish her English skills were better but we communicated well enough. She accommodated my request for everything to be prepared for a vegan customer. I ordered Kung Pao Mixed Vegetables with no peanuts, Szechuan Hot Garlic Eggplant and Steamed Vegetables and a large brown rice. Delivery took around 1 hour which is what I was told. VERY nice delivery guy. I should have known what I was in for when I touched the plastic bag and my hand became coated in a greasy substance that felt like motor oil! It wouldn't wash off!! What I discovered in the bag were three really nice portions, and they were delivered piping hot! The steamed veggies were very plain, but that's no surprise----steamed veggies, right? The Kung Pao Mixed Vegetables and the Szechuan Hot Garlic Eggplant were the GREASIEST food I've eaten in a decade. I'm not exaggerating! This oil that the food was drowning in was thick and viscous and nasty and heavy and slippery and all sorts of other things I can't mention here. I honestly think you could use it in a diesel engine! Of course I had to try it. The flavors were not bad---especially the eggplant dish. The Kung Pao was okay. I put a large blob of the really generous portion of brown rice I ordered on a plate, and tried with no luck to get some of the eggplant and Kung Pao separated from the Exxon oil rig spill. Then I sprinkled some of the steamed veggies over the top, trying to use them as a anti-gunking reagent. The reason I didn't slam this establishment with a one or two-star review is that I think "normal" people actually like to eat their Chinese food this way! I personally can't imagine it, but I've read in the past that certain Chinese meals far exceed all sorts of grotesque dining experiences in fat and sodium etc., including some of the most extreme fast food. I also completely forgot to ask if they cook with MSG! I "think" I got that MSG feeling while eating and I did wake up with a slight headache today. Anyway, lots of things weren't bad. The delivery guy took my credit card with Square and made the payment process really easy. I could conceivably be back to order some steamed veggies and brown rice, but never again with the grease. Rave reviews for Century Dragon Chinese restaurant on Magnolia in Burbank. The food was delivered by masked and gloved delivery person and it was delicious and piping hot. I had Kung Pao Tofu and veggie spring roll. My boyfriend had Chinese Chicken Salad and it was all white meat just like he likes. This is my go to place for Chinese food in Burbank. From my experience the employees are always polite.I order at least once a week. My favorite is the beef broccoli, the meat is always tender, not chewy. Everything is always fresh. My only complaint would be the parking, so I always order for pickup. read more

What I loved best about my order is that the sauce is already on the chicken and it is also tossed with vegetables and pineapple. I loved that extra touch of the added pineapple. My friends ordered other dishes like chicken with vegetables, a corn type soup, and a tofu dish and they all loved their meals. Their steamed white rice is great. Make sure if your order is to-go that you check your bag for soy sauce. No matter how big your order is they will give you ONE packet and if you ask for extra, be prepared for some serious side-eye and then be warned that they will give you ONE extra packet. Unless....hmmmm Why are the glass paneled windows so dark? Are they hiding something in there? Are they bulletproof maybe? How come when I walked inside I noticed that there was no drywall on the ceiling, only plywood panels - (aesthetically punctuated I might add with a large unstained *Glulam beam creatively supporting the roof above). Could the Triad have hurriedly stripped the place down before the feds came? Were there drugs hidden in the walls? If so, how can I get in after dark? Could I lock myself in the bathroom? No, no, no. But somehow the ambience works. Exposed ductwork, small space, intimate table setting, -basically "industrial casual". (TM pending) Honestly I don't know how the lunch specials could be so inexpensive yet the waitress be so pleasant. Perhaps if people get an affordable meal and great service, they are more prone to tip fat. The only other explanation is a drug induced euphoria. Someone was giddy when they came up the "luncheon" specials, but they sure draw in the local working crowd -most all of them are only $4.95! And the food is better than a lot of places and nicely presented. I went with the kung pao tofu and it was delicious. It comes with rice (brown rice is free not extra either!) soup, and your choice of spring roll or salad. It actually tasted like kung pao, but it was not spicy even though the ** promised it would be. And because two is company but a Triad can rob a bank, they have family dinner specials too. Choose from two set dinners that vary with how many people you have. It makes all those group decisions so much easier. I didn't really have any high expectations for Century Dragon. It's difficult to find decent ala authentic Chinese food these days especially when eateries are located outside of Chinatown (even that's not really authentic anymore) or Monterey Park. So when my friend suggested this place, I went along. Haven't been here so I thought it was worth a shot. The place itself is pretty small. I estimated that the restaurant can hold 50 customers maximum. It wasn't busy the day we went so we got seated right away. The menu itself was full of appealing pictures of Chinese dishes and to my surprise, even had some more authentic dishes. Pricing is a tad on the high side but this wasn't Chinatown. I ordered the Empire Shrimp, which was suppose to be fried shrimp doused with spicy salt and pepper surrounded by bushels of broccoli. Looks appetizing enough so I really didn't think twice about ordering it. My friend ordered the combo lo mein which looked alright from what the menu was showcasing. After about a 20 minute wait, our food arrived. Right off the bat I knew something big was missing from my plate. The Empire Shrimp with broccoli arrived...without any broccoli. I asked my friend to retrieve the menu to double check and called on a server. He came over and I told him what's was missing. He went back into the kitchen and came back telling me that the picture in the menu was outdated. Then he continued to explain why the broccoli wasn't included with my dish: broccoli would get soggy. That was the worst excuse I ever heard so I immediately told him to take it back and have it fixed. The remake wasn't any better. The kitchen managed to throw a few sprigs of broccoli onto my original plate and called it good. The amount was nowhere near as pictured in the menu. The taste of the Empire Shrimp did have flavor but needed a bit more. An extra douse of spicy salt and pepper would do the trick. My friend's lo mein was just greasy and bland. The chicken was bleh. Overall my experience with Century Dragon was disappointing. First they gave me something different from what I thought I was getting and when my dish was fixed, the taste was not there. I don't mind mistakes as long as the establishment realizes and fix it but giving me such a lame excuse about their menu being outdated and the worry of broccoli being soggy if included nailed the coffin shut. read more

This restaurant deserves a lot more credit than its given. As an Asian lady who is especially picky about her Asian food, Century Dragon was a pleasant surprise. I wasn't expecting much because it is North Hollywood but when the delivery arrived and the food turned out to be better than expected, I was pleasantly proven wrong! I think I've ordered delivery at least three times whenever I'm feeling for Chinese. Their customer service was great. Delivery was speedy and the food was good. I do dare to say it is a good find. My favorites include the peppered and salty tofu, Szechuan ANYTHING, Kung Pow Shrimp, Hot and Sour Soup, and rice plates. One thing I would like to comment is that I'd like for them to improve their tofu dishes. I absolutely LOVE tofu but the dishes they offered weren't good. Needs more flavor mostly. Given, it's nothing compared to stuff in Monterey Park and Rowland Heights, but it is pretty good in white town. To the people complaining about the quality and price - what did you expect?
