    Advanced Transmission Rebuilding

Avoid This Shop at All Costs!!!…read more I took my 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee to Advanced Transmissions in January 2025 for a transmission rebuild, and it has been an absolute nightmare. I paid $4544.36, and after FIVE failed repair attempts, my vehicle is still not working properly. 1) Multiple Delays & False Promises: I was told the repair would take one week, but the shop kept delaying it, claiming it would be ready "tomorrow" On 02/11/2025, after waiting nearly three weeks, I went to the shop in person and was told they didn't even have the parts yet. 2) Vehicle Broke Down Immediately After Repair: I got my car back on 02/13/2025, but it broke down immediately and had to be towed back to the shop. They blamed an oil leak for causing an electrical short and "fixed" only for the same thing to happen again the very next day. 3) Misdiagnosis & Unnecessary Repair Charges: After failing to fix the issue, they told me the PCM was bad and quoted me another $1,500. I refused and took my car to another shop for a second opinion. Turns out, the PCM was fine the real issue was a loose ground wire and an improper installation of the transmission 4) Faulty Rebuild Confirmed by a Second Shop: The second shop found that Advanced Transmissions did not properly bolt the transmission back in place, failed to seal it correctly (causing leaks), and left my vehicle shifting worse than before. They recommended another full rebuild, meaning I was charged $5,000 for unnecessary work After showing Advanced Transmissions LLC these findings and requesting a refund, they refused, saying they "did a good job" and that my only option was to bring it back under warranty. Why would I trust them again after FIVE failed attempts? DO NOT trust this shop with your vehicle. They misdiagnose issues, perform sloppy work, and refuse to take responsibility when their repairs fail. If you value your time and money, go somewhere else and I mean anywhere else.

A terrible experience. Three tries to fix my car and five weeks to finally get it right. They…read morealso broke my windshield while my car was in their custody. They refused to fix it. Told me to prove it was them. The woman working the counter talks a good game but doesn't return phone calls, doesn't call back when she says she's going to, we always had to track her down. I would not recommend this business. Zero stars if I could.

If you read the reviews it's clear that this is NOT where you want to bring your vehicle…read more Unfortunately being newer to the area and in a tight bind, led me to bring in my car that wouldn't start. A local told me about this shop close to their home, however their only experience was with an oil change and when it had different management which I didn't find out till after it was too late. I have to say that everything about this shop was unprofessional. My vehicle was in their possession for over a week after the check engine light came on, overheating alert, and the vehicle wouldn't start. They were baffled as to what was wrong. They tried replacing a plastic part and kept me updated up to that point saying they were unable to pinpoint the issue. Finally they called to tell me they CHOSE to change out the starter and attempted to charge me $1,100- this was done without my authorization and without providing me with a quote or options for a starter. When I complained about being blindsided by this I was given this condescending response, "well you wanted your car to run didn't you? I mean we can take it back out and give you back a car that isn't running...". I felt manipulated into going along with he work they had done. After pity from the actual owner, they called me back to offer a discount and they charged me $500. I reluctantly paid for and picked up my car and of course within a couple of days the EXACT same issues occurred and the car wouldn't start. Ultimately, the issue was a frozen engine and I had to take it to another shop to get the full scope, details other finding of the vehicle that Auto Max couldn't figure out over the course of 2 weeks. Later when I called Eric the manager to discuss the matter, he immediately became defensive raising his voice and told me that I wasted their time by bringing my car back to the shop after their attempt at putting in a starter didn't resolve the issue)?! So I guess bringing in a vehicle that is having mechanical issues is beyond their scope of practice and additionally you'll be wasting their time by doing so. I was later told by the local tow truck driver who took my vehicle to a more reputable shop in PV that AUTO MAX in PRESCOTT does TERRIBLE WORK and they've towed many cars from there only to bring them to other more reliable shops. Again, please don't fall into the trap I did! Please take your vehicle somewhere else if you want professional and trustworthy work performed.

We went over the issues & pricing for the work to be performed. Tuesday 12/9/25, I called Jeff to discuss availability & when I could bring my truck in. I was told Monday morning. Monday 12/15/25, I delivered my truck first thing in the morning & went over the symptoms again. I was told I would be called the following day with an update. Tuesday 12/16/25, After not receiving an update, I called & spoke with Justin (General Manager). I was informed that they were not able to duplicate the problem during a cold start, to which I replied that the issue happens during a warm or hot start. This was already thoroughly discussed several times. I was told that the Service Manager had failed to provide that information. Justin then pulled up my work order on the computer & found that yes, the information had been documented in detail. Again, I was told that I would be contacted the following day with an update. Wednesday 12/17/25, After not receiving an update, I called to learn the status of my truck. Justin informed me that Eric test drove my truck to Paulden & back to bring the engine up to temperature. He also allowed the truck to idle in the parking lot for an extended period & that there was no starting problem. I was told I would be called the following day with an update. Thursday 12/18/25, After not receiving an update, I once again called to find out the status of my truck & spoke with Justin. I was informed that they had yet to find the problem. During several of these calls, I was asked if this vehicle was my daily driver, to which I replied that it was & the repairs should be as prompt as possible. Friday morning, 12/19/25. I arrived at Action Automotive prior to the business opening. I found my truck in the front parking lot near the street where it had been stored overnight. Both doors were left unlocked. Furthermore, upon opening the rear hatch, I found my tools scattered across the bed of the truck. I have driven that truck in excess of 100K miles with those tools in the back & have never found them out of place. Someone had to drive my truck fairly hard to accomplish that. According to the odometer reading, the Paulden test drive story was pure fabrication. I went into the office to inform Justin that I would be taking my truck home after what I had found, as I no longer had any faith in this shop. This generated a profane tantrum from Justin, attempted intimidation & the refusal to return my vehicle key. The key was eventually "located" & returned. The original starting problem reoccurred the following day. EDIT: REPLY My truck's doors were left unlocked overnight(s) in an unsecured parking area near the main street. The tools in my truck were scattered across the bed by an aggressive driver. The odometer reading proves that the Paulden test drive story is false. You were not there & the story your son is telling you, is also false. There is a recurring theme in the negative reviews you've received. Very revealing how the common reply is to deny, deflect & initiate a personal attack upon the customer.
