Charge me $400 for some vacuum lines and an inspection. Believe this place is overcharging and dishonest and highly don't recommend

I took my 99 Avalon in there a few months ago because it was making a noise and it was having trouble shifting into gear. I thought it was a transmission which they ruled out after paying $400 to check it which was fine but when I left there, my bill was $2200 and the noise isn't gone and the problem still there so I don't really know if I would recommend them. I mean they did a bunch of other things that they charge me for which was fine. I guess a bunch of little things but charge me crazy amount for for a part that I saw online for $69 and they charged me 200 and I would recommend looking at invoices for parts that they charge you for and seeing the boxes making sure that they're giving you what they say they are I explain the problem to the guy that answers the phone is there twice I think his name is Paul explained it clearly and by the time the other guy got finished working on the car he said he had no idea what I was talking about so but it's still making that noise and still doesn't want to shift into gear going up the hill so $2200 later and still got the same problem. Well there you have it. Very friendly though. And I was grateful that they didn't tell me my transmission needed to be replaced when it didn't. They could've made a lot more money off me if they hadn't wanted to. and I wouldn't have known the difference, but still don't understand whether the problem isn't resolved. read more

crooks!!......... they are thieves. i took my vehicle in for a transmission repair. the entire kit to repair my transmission is $340.00 (complete) and the cost of tranny fluid (maybe $50). these crooks wanted $5500,00 to rebuild. that is absolutely unconscionable. their excuse was an added "warranty" that they provide....why? they don't do the job correctly? do not go there unless you want to be cheated/ read more

On my way out of town in my RV and my shifting starting being weird. It wouldn't shift easily or correctly. I drove straight to Affinity and found that they don't do or look at transmissions. They sent me to Certified. Certified was really busy (as I bet they always are) yet they had me pull right up to attempt to look at my transmission fluid or otherwise. They were not able to get to the transmission as Mercedes makes it completely difficult to do so. Long story short. My coach started running perfectly and I was off on my journey. This review isn't about them repairing anything...it's so much better than that. It's that they attempted to repair something. They stopped what they were doing, fit me in knowing I had an 8 hour drive to my destination that day. This is HUGE in my book. Thank you Paul for the care! read more

I would recommend Certified Transmission without hesitation. They found and replaced a broken seal in my transfer case, serviced my transmission which was 88k miles overdue, and so far, no further issues with transmission slippage. They thoroughly evaluated my car's condition, and recommended other services that I should consider to improve performance. No pressure, just good information. read more

So the rear end fails on my pickup truck I called down there and they said they will put it on the lift pop the dif cover and tell me what's wrong with it.so I have it towed there I get the phone call from lead salesman Paul informed me that my A/C doesn't blow ( no shit) also informed me my check engine light is on (no shit) bad catalytic and then tells me my 4×4 low engagement was not working all of these issues apparently the truck still ran but the rear end how about that never removed cover plate and quotes me 2000 .Really felt like going to the dentist and have him go for my prostate. CONSUMERS BEWARE!!! Unfortunately I had posted a positive review on the Certified Transmissions website only as a courtesy to them before my experience actually had completed because I didn't think for a moment I would have had such a problem when dealing with them. My experience was that even though their expensive repair did not fix the problem with my car as they claimed it would (and they tried twice), they still felt justified in keeping the money I had paid in good faith. I requested a refund rather than continue down an uncertain and even more expensive path with them. Do take care if you choose to deal with this shop. I tried to recoup my money through credit card chargeback and the Better Business Bureau. Regarding the BBB, it is generally known that the BBB has a conflict of interest because they are funded by the businesses themselves. There are numerous consumer complaints on the web saying they have not been treated fairly as a result. In my case, the documentation relative to the decision of their auto committee against reimbursement was muddied. They said my complaint was justified but subjective and that Certified Transmissions should have communicated more clearly, but then they basically ignored my complaint and justified their position by saying Certified Transmissions had done repairs. Whether or not the repairs fixed the problem was irrelevant. Insofar as the credit card chargeback was concerned, I was told that unless a second opinion letter implicates another shop in wrongdoing, the case doesn't seem to hold much legal water. As anyone knows, that would leave the shop providing such a second opinion open to liability issues. So, do make your own decision when dealing with this shop. They can try to justify their position all they want, but as a consumer, had I read a review like this beforehand and knew whether or not they actually successfully fixed the problem I would be out the money anyway, I would have looked elsewhere immediately rather than take a chance with them. read more

Many months ago I took my '01 CRV to a national chain that deals with transmission problems. They said "Looks like you need to rebuild the tranny", at a estimated cost of $1,800 to $2,200. A friend at my wife's work recommended "CERTIFIED TRANSMISSION" in Prescott, where they said they couldn't find anything wrong with transmission but found a broken fitting that had something to do with Radiator and Transmission, and a fluid leak, and a busted motor mount. Cost $1.400. Waited this long to rate to see if the problem was truly fixed. IT IS and saved me the cost of rebuilt tranny. Otherwise I would have wasted $1,800+ Would have still had the problem. read more

I took van in cause it needed trans looked at they told me trans oil was filthy. They drained trans oil cleaned trans found nothing wrong put it back together then they seemed to find. More and more problems. Ac not working right. Oil leak. The work added up I figure they stiffed me. Had my ac worked on with the Spent over thousand would not go back there again. Excellent service. Not "inexpensive" but with Transmission work "if" someone is lowballing then you are not going to get the best rebuild. I know, I had mine done elsewhere and it was a fiasco. Pay the 'little' extra and get the good stuff. A year since the rebuild and doing fine, no surprises, no issues at all. Our 02 TrailBlazer (4WhlDrv) is running well now that we have all the gears back... I recommend this business with no reservations. read more

I think that this company is a joke....I received a quote from Monte,for one price on a complete transmission install...and mind you it was a computer quote....then when I take my car into them...they tell me it will be a 1k more then the original quote...also when I had them do a diagnosis on my tranny....they did not complete all the steps of the service...and when I refused to pay them the full price..they called the police on me...They are the stereotype of thinking that a female has no knowledge of what goes on with a vehicle....Will not Return or Recommend...... read more

Buyer Beware: My 1991 4 cylinder truck seemed a little sluggish and my independent mechanic looked it over and said it looked like I needed a rebuilt transmission, and he could take it out and a another mechanic he deals with, who does transmissions could get me a rebuilt one, estimated around $700 - $800, total My husband thought we should take it to someone who was in the " transmission business", so I took it to "Certified Transmission" to look it over They said they would check it over and call me, I signed nothing at this time.They had it for several days, so I called them and asked if they knew what was wrong. They said it was my transmission, and it would run around $1400. I was shocked in the difference in the two prices, so I said I will come get it. When I got there they already had the transmission out of my car,(without my permission) and said I would have to pay the labor to put it back in. I asked why they hadn't asked my permission to take it out in the first place? No acceptable reason.. I also asked what was wrong exactly with the transmission, and they said it had 'water" in it. I called my independent mechanic and asked what would cause water to get into my transmission, and he said, I would have had to have been in a flood, or go thru some really deep water, of which I had done neither, and have had the vehicle for 20 years. At this point I was really upset, and told them my original mechanic was going to charge me $600 less. They gave me a lot of excuses why it would be so much more, none of which made any sense, except they charge twice as much per hour, since a rebuilt transmission is largely labor, and would cost me quite a bit in labor to put it back in. At this point I had no choice. When I finally got the truck back, after 10 days, it still seemed not to have much power. They said they took it our for a spin, and it was still sluggish, probably the engine. I took it for a "spin", and after about 5 miles it seemed to be okay. They dont seem to be much interested in being what I would call "honest " and up front. Plus it seemed as tho they thought because I am a woman I wouldnt know the difference. They were very messy, left grease on the carpet floor, also around the gear shift on the floor, grease on the seat.and the door had been shut on the seat belt . When I paid the bill, it was no longer $1400 but $1700, and I asked why? And again, they seemed to justify the additional costs with no real facts. I had no choice but to pay to get my truck back. And would never go to them again! Better Business Bureau doesn't deal well with complaints concerning businesses that are funding the BBB.. Do your "due diligence" before going to this company! read more

Took my car in for a rebuilt Transmission,it took 5 weeks and $3500.00. I picked the car up and after driving it for a short time it was very obvious that it was no better than the one that was replaced. I took the vehicle back and had them go on a drive with me and the tech agreed there was a problem,humm why didn't they discover that before they returned the car to me ?? I left the car and it took them two more weeks to repair the car again and cost me $500.00 more for a rental car and the Owner refused to help me with the cost of the rental costs. read more
