When I got word that Cha Redefine was going to open up in Ktown (replacing black sugar), I was ECSTATIC. Previously, they were in Pasadena and Arcadia. Parking was terrible at both locations (depending on the time) and then, the closest location near my office in DTLA was in a not so great location. It was also like a 20 minute bus ride from my office. Meanwhiles, Cha in K-town is right across from H-Mart and next door to Quarters. I come here often as I live WALKING distance away. Since opening, I've definitely stopped by with friends at least once every other week. Sometimes even twice a week! The menu changes seasonally but my go-to faves are still the jasmine cha-puccino and the sri lanka chappucino. I hope they stay a while because they are one of the few good boba places in the area! read more

I'm so happy there's a new boba place in Chapman Market to replace Tiger Sugar. I stopped by during their soft opening (May 25-29 with 20% off drinks). The remodeling they did looks pretty good and I appreciated the baby proofing bumpers on the corners of the tables. If you came here before when it was Tiger Sugar or Snow Monster then you'd know there wasn't a lot of space and it felt pretty closed off, but it looks much more open now and it has a little space for seating inside to wait for your drinks. I'm a big fan of their Da Hong Pao Chappuccino from other locations. However, even though I asked for less ice, my drink still came with a bit too much, and my teeth are a little sensitive to how cold it gets. My husband got the Sri Lanka Ceylon Latte, which was also delicious, though definitely on the sweeter side. We both did get 25% sugar because we know it tends to be a little sweet here. My only minor critique, and why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5, is that I wish Cha Redefine offered a few more regular milk tea options that aren't topped with a lot of extra ingredients. I'm a big fan of classic milk teas such as a strong Jasmine or Tie Guan Yin. This isn't a knock on this specific location, just a general preference for the chain. Overall, it's a great spot for tea, and the soft opening discount is a nice bonus. I didn't order the boba itself this time around but I'll definitely be back very soon to try it out. I highly recommend the Chapuccino at 25% sweet if you're into more traditional, rich tea flavor without being overly stimulating. Their barley popping boba is unique and super fun -- a refreshing change (and might I add healthier) from the usual tapioca. They also offer regular boba, agar jelly, and mochi toppings, which is great if you like to customize your drink. Recently tried this new boba shop during their grand opening weekend. The interior is small but clean and the staff is very friendly. Watching them make the drinks in the back I could tell they didn't rush and made every single order with care. I ordered the rice matcha einspanner and I would give it a 3.5/5 wasn't terrible but definitely needed to be a bit sweeter. The mango mango drink was delicious and I would definitely order this again. If you plan to order the peach oolong tea I suggest going for the one with the cream top! read more

SOOOO good, I have never had mochi in a drink before and I am now obsessed. It is so fitting in both of these drinks, they are really good with customizations. Amazing drink options, definitely on the pricey side but a wonderful treat every once in a while. The store is really clean, and well decorated. Very cutesy environment! We had the mango mango less sweet, the blueberry matcha tea half sweet less ice, and the orange tea slush. All drinks were super yummy. Located in the same marketplace as Quarters Korean BBQ where we had dinner, and Uncle Tetsu, where we picked up dessert. They have a parking lot, but it's $20, which is totally worth it if you're making a whole evening out of it. one of the best new boba spots in ktown! i really like their mochi drinks - the mochi is very soft and has bits of rice for texture the tea flavor is stronger than usual boba shops, and the boba is cooked really well. this store is inside chapman market so parking is a bit annoying. i would also recommend ordering ahead online through toast since it can get very busy. read more

Stopped by to try a new boba spot and it didn't disappoint! Service was great! Wait for the drinks didn't take too long. DRINKS: We tried the Sri Lanka Chappucino and Mango Mango. Both iced. Got the Sri Lanka half sweet which was just the right amount of sweetness. Boba was delicious and the roasted pecans added a fun crunch. Mango mango was also great, though I personally don't prefer the jasmine tea taste with the mango. Would recommend mixing this drink well, otherwise you get a lot more grapefruit than mango at first sip. PARKING: This is in a plaza with valet parking. Came here from Moohan KBBQ so we walked over from across the street since our parking is already validated. There's street parking around the area (it's Ktown though so could get busy). Sometimes the valet people are nice and will let you pick up quickly if the lot isn't packed. Not sure if there are other options besides street. The menu is curated very nicely and has drinks with many surprises and flavor pairings that I would never think of I do think that this is more of a artistic way to drink your tea but nonetheless, I do like it. it is a little hard to order. I wish that I would get a little bit more direction from the barista But nonetheless, they are very nice so maybe you just have to ask. The place itself is small but there is a seating bar inside and two or three little tables outside overall the area where this is located as a very nice area to walk around and enjoy the night. read more
