Guys, i'm a loyal rok fan. I love all the drinks i've tried except two that i tried this time - black sesame latte (chunky bits of sesame, texture threw me off) - hojicha duo (too thick and sweet despite asking for 50% sweetness. would probably get just hojicha) However, at rok i do recommend: - lotus latte (50% sweetness) - coconut matcha - matcha duo Service friendly and i absolutely LOVE the outdoor seating - especially at night. Great place to sit, chat, enjoy the music and drinks. Would come again to order my favorites!
First place I had proper matcha and it did not disappoint. Definitely on the stronger side but I liked the taste. The drink was not watery luckily and the amount of the ice they put in was just right. The store as a cool vibe and is usually pretty busy so do expect to wait 10-20 min in line. The employees are very kind and the store ambiance is pretty cool. Parking is all along the street. Will come back again to try the einspanner or the strawberry/mango matcha.
Aesthetically pleasing (specially the giant tree in the middle of the seating area), amazing customer service and probably one of the best matcha drinks I've ever had. So far, I've tried their matcha duo, strawberry matcha and mango matcha and they were all phenomenal. Matcha duo was strong but very well-balanced as far as the flavor profile. Same thing for their strawberry matcha. The mango matcha was good but I do like my mango to be on the sweeter side like a manila mango would taste like. Overall, their matcha is so rich and creamy and I will definitely be back for other flavors or for the same ones (matcha duo and strawberry matcha). Lol! FYI, no parking garage so it would only be a street parking, which can be a nightmare. The line is almost always long but it goes by pretty quickly.
Rok Café has many locations in Ktown. This location specifically was within walking distance of Hangari Kulguksu where I was having dinner, and close to the HMart, but in the plaza next to it, tuck behind a Kbbq restaurant. My boyfriend discovered Rok when he went to eat with a friend. They had some coupon for Rok with their meal, so they decided to check it out after. Well he reallyyyyy likes it, since he actually wanted to come back. My boyfriend had the Chestnut Latte ($7.50) and I had the Black Sesame Latte ($7.50). They also sold pastries and I saw what looked like a Kouign Amman ($6.25) labelled as a Kanebullar. I pointed to it to order. Then the kid was like yeah that's a Kouign Amman. Bro I know... your label doesn't. Then he struggled to find it in the system and needed someone else to help him. Lacking critical thinking. Just ring me up for something of the similar value or manually enter it. It's not that hard. Then you basically wait for them to prepare your drink. With their business front like a stand with some covered patio seating, which seems to be shared with the plaza, we went and secured seating while we waited. When it was ready, I notice they like to sprinkle toppings for an artistic touch, and then you can place the lid yourself. I went to get the drinks cause I wanted pictures. I knew the walk from the counter to our table would make the lattes less perfect looking. As for the drink itself... on me sesame latte I didn't really taste the sesame... but that worked out for me because their sesame was really gritty. I enjoyed my drink until I got to the bottom. The cups here are the sipping type cups. Had I liked the flavor I would have been disappointed I didn't taste it until the end. If this was a straw drink it would be better to mix up and integrate. My boyfriend's chestnut latte was better than my sesame latte. The Kouign Amman was bigger than other ones I've seen, but not in a good way. It lacked the flakey layerness and edges I enjoy in a Kouign Amman. Would not get this here next time. I would be willing to come back and give them another try, and try different drinks, if I was already in the area. I do think they are pricey for the small cup size and less than flawless execution.
Rok Coffee and Tea, located in Koreatown, was a spot I visited after dinner with a few friends. This place claims to be the best, and I can say it does taste pretty darn good! There's no parking so park in the garage and they have valet there. That's a little sad but I guess since we are in LA that happens a lot. We didn't have to wait that long but I did see photos of this place being quite busy and after that I did notice a line forming later in the night. We ordered our drinks and got to sit at the tables that they have inside. I ordered a matcha with coconut juice. This was really refreshing and nice. They also have a photo booth that takes free photos for you! Overall fun experience and it is pretty good!!! Would get this spot if I were in Ktown all the time!
As a matcha lover, previously having thought stagger, damo, and open market were the best matcha... may have found my new favorite matcha place! Located next to a kbbq shop, if coming from wilshire you need to go up the stairs pretending you're going to the hmart market food court along the side you can see boiling crab.... You'll find this cute shop and an outdoor seating area! The matcha duo is dare I say just as good if not better than staggers? It's so smooth and the 3 times I've been, there's no matcha grains that fall to the bottom... it's always perfectly prepared! But the drink that I really come for is the coconut matcha einspanner... I never thought of putting matcha cream on top of coconut water and now I cannot stop! This place is gonna take all my money! Love walking here in the morning and kind of want to give a lower review because I don't want it to get crowded!
I will compare every matcha to this matcha- this is a 5/5. Delicious, not too sweet, fast service, nice seating, and worth the drive to LA
This place was delicious. Definitely one of the best matches I've had in LA. The service is great, the vibes are good, and they're open really late. I got some sort of cookie butter strawberry Matcha, and it was really good, but it was super sweet. I honestly think the flavors were really well balanced, and nothing was overtaking the other. I had it at like 9 PM as a sweet treat, so for me it was fine that it was sweet. I knew what I was getting into the Matcha taste is great, and it tastes like its really good quality. There's a reason why they're so popular!
My niece took mere here when we were in LA. She said it has the best matcha drink and she was right! We ordered the coconut milk matcha and it tasted perfect! By far the best matcha I have had in Southern California. I'm just sad that it located about a little over an hour from where I live. The building/pad is located in the corner (see photo). There is quite a bit of seating inside and is clean. The only negative comment I can really point out is the parking situation. It's not easy. I had to keep driving around the block until I could find a spot as it is all street parking in a relatively busy area.
I visited this new rok location in Ktown and my experience here was good. I got the Matcha Duo which was pretty tasty. I enjoyed the creamy and flavorful cream top. The matcha itself was solid, but the blend used was a bit dry. I wished they used fresher matcha powder when making this drink. My friend also really enjoyed her strawberry matcha duo, but also agreed with the matcha being a bit dry. I also really like the ambiance of this location. It's fully outdoors with outdoor seating and tables. The setup is pretty nice and a good place to relax. I also like the fresh plants and seeing the staff take care of them. It's good that they opened up another location in Ktown to ease the line at the original location, but I hope they can stay consistent with the drink quality in the future.
Came in after dinner Loved how sleek the store was Staff was super friendly! Asked the gentleman with glasses what he'd recommend and he actually recommended a banger I was hesitant with the combo of coconut water and matcha but I throughly enjoyed it! Was super well balanced and my new favorite! I really wanted to get another because coconut water from the store is easily 8 dollars But at least here you get that matcha too! For sure will be back
Came here on a Sunday morning around 11am and the line was around 15 mins. I was able to find street parking walking distance. The cafe was nice and a bit loud when I was there but it's nice to have a quick hangout here. The black sesame latte and limited mugwort latte caught my eye but neither could their sweetness be adjusted. Instead I got the matcha duo at the lowest sugar level. Overall I really liked the velvety texture of the matcha and the cloud top was delicious. I find that their sweetness level was a tiny tiny bit sweeter than what I like otherwise but it's no big deal. Without the straw though, I found it a bit hard to drink both the cloud foam and the matcha latte at once. Will go back.
Order: mango matcha duo (oat), matcha duo(oat), blueberry matcha duo Highlights: - fast service - the mango matcha was quite sweet but it paired very good with the matcha - the cream top was amazing and quite thick - the matcha duo was solid and has a deep flavor cons: - there is always a line! - the blueberries in the blueberry matcha could have been a bit more puréed - with a milk sub each drink was around ~$9 overall: I would visit again if I was in the area, the cream top was absolutely amazing, highly recommend the mango matcha!
Whenever I'm in the area I always find time to stop by for a drink. When I was living down the street from here, I would go nearly every other day. The shop is at the corner of the block and on the inside it's connected to Lasung Tofu & Pot Rice so you can just walk over for a meal. My go-to drink here is the Sparking Yuzu Matcha ($7.50), but I've also gotten the Matcha Duo ($7.50) and the Hojicha Duo ($7.50). If you want just matcha I suggest going for the Matcha Duo. It's simple, and gets the job done. If you're not in the mood for matcha but like a more roasted flavor, the Hojicha Duo is so good. If you're not feeling a milky drink, and want something light and refreshing, then get the Sparking Yuzu Matcha. Everything that I've gotten here has been amazing and it's probably my favorite matcha/tea spot. I also really like that they have milk alternates for people like me who are lactose intolerant. There are occasionally long lines here so I try coming during off-peak hours. There's also very limited seating so a lot of people just take their orders out. Otherwise, it does get a bit crowded inside since there's not much space between the entry door and the counter, so you're in the same small area between both ordering and waiting for your drink. read more
1.5 hours for drinks is overrated. There were only 2 workers that had ZERO intentions of moving faster. I wish we had known how long it would take. We just stuck with it since we've already waited for so long and wanted drinks. Most of the drinks looked pretty. But some of them were just sitting on the counter because they weren't announcing the orders. The drinks were inconsistent too. 2 of my friends ordered the same coffee drink with chestnuts and almond praline. One was definitely a darker shade than the other. I also saw some previous customers that ordered that drink and theirs looked prettier than what my friends got. I can't complain about my coffee drink though, it was the duo. It was sooo good. We also got the matcha cheesecake, which was hands down the best I've had. It's just disappointing that the wait was too long. Servers had no sense of urgency and the customers had no choice but to wait. read more

The matcha itself was solid, but the blend used was a bit dry. I wished they used fresher matcha powder when making this drink. I think Rok is one of my favorite matcha shops in LA and I can see why they are ranked #1 best matcha in LA. I came here after lunch to grab a quick drink. This 4th newest location is more of grab and go since it's just a stand connected to the KBBQ next door. They do have a patio sitting area though. But you just line up outside, order, and they call your name when it's ready. I came on a weekend and it was busy but the line was moving. Rok's best seller is their Matcha Duo which is a double matcha. While I was there they had their seasonal dot matcha duo. I had to check out the dot hype and get it and it turned out to be the best thing I had that day. The little sprinkles on top gave it a nice crunch texture and whatever biscoff tasting sauce in it combined with the sprinkles had my delicious matcha taste like animal crackers. What a great invention done but Rok. I recommend it if they still have it. Besides the matcha I just recommended they also have 8 other types of matcha. However, just know their matcha isn't ceremonial nor organic but oh do they taste good. Besides matcha, they also have coffees. I want to try their black sesame latte. Oh and they also had pastries ready to go if you like. Our drinks came fast and staff was nice. This location can be hard to find. It's located next to moohan upstairs. read more

Came here with friends after dinner. This is a very popular spot and they are very busy. We checked this spot out around 8/9pm so we didn't have to wait in line. Definitely the matcha spot you need to check out. I had their blueberry cookie butter matcha while my friends had their early grey matcha and regular one. All were delicious but the one I recommend is the early grey matcha. read more
Love the original Rok so had to try their new ktown location when I found out they just opened a month ago. Ordered something I haven't tried before: the Black Sesame Latte. So delicious and perfectly sweetened! What makes this location special is the abundance of outdoor seating. Plenty of spots under shade. Such a lovely spot to sip and chit chat in the heart of ktown. read more
I was in LA this past weekend and finally stopped by here for the and had a great experience! I ordered the cafe duo but I have tried their double matcha before. The cafe itself is super cute, and since I went in the morning on a weekday, it was a quick in-and-out experience with not a crazy wait. As for the drinks, I can definitely see why the double matcha is so popular, but personally it was a little too sweet for my taste. I ended up preferring the coffee, which was more my style. Would definitely come back to explore more of their menu but might just stick to my cafe duo. read more
Such a creamy matcha but $$$! My family and I were waiting for a reservation for Moohan and we noticed that there was a Rok next to it! I heard good things about this place on social media so I had high expectations. Ordering was relatively easy, they have a menu displayed of their fan favorites and instructions on how to drink their duo drinks. I thought that this was quite expensive given the size of the drink, but hey, first time for everything! Drink: Matcha Duo (7/10): I'm sorry but this was INCREDIBLY sweet. I figured that everyone that ranked this place as their #1 prefers an extremely sweet matcha that covers the actual matcha taste. I know that they have signs that say you can ask for adjustments if you don't enjoy your drink but my cousin's tasted the exact same so I figured I'd get the authentic drink without adjustments. It was definitely a really creamy matcha that I enjoyed but given the price and size of the drink, I wouldn't be able to constantly come here to satisfy my matcha crave. read more
Rok does rock when it comes to excellent quality matcha. I found their mango Matcha to be delicious. The Matcha is not bitter and has that earthy taste associated with fine quality. I would recommend making a visit when in the area. read more

first time here! I got their seasonal earl grey matcha duo and it did not disappoint. The matcha cream was perfectly rich, and the earl grey milk was stronger than I expected which I liked. For $8.50 it did seem pricey for a 12 oz drink - though that seems typical in LA. The line also wasn't crazy long for a Sunday afternoon - we only waited around 15 minutes. Would definitely love to come back to try the other matchas on the menu. read more

The MATCHA DUO was EXCEPTIONAL and delicious! It had the perfect amount of sweetness, perfect creaminess, and the matcha wasn't bitter at all. You can tell they use really good, high-quality matcha because not only could I taste the quality, I could feel it in my energy level too. My sister got the MANGO MATCHA DUO with oat milk and absolutely loved it. My sister's coworker tried the SPARKLING YUZU MATCHA and said it was delicious! She loved that the yuzu flavor wasn't overpowering and said the matcha tasted very high quality. We also got the STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE MATCHA DUO because it was recommended as one of their top picks. We gave it to another one of her coworkers, and she finished it so quick! She said it tasted like a dessert and raved about how delicious and amazing it was! Cafe setting is sheek and nice. Great place to meet up and have a morning coffee or matcha and enjoy a pastry . Customer service was exceptional! Everyone was very kind while at the same time quick and attentive to the line. There does tend to be a line, but it moves pretty quickly, and our drinks were ready pretty fast after we ordered. Overall, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ROK Coffee & Tea! Everything we tried gets a 10/10 from us! The quality of the matcha, the flavors, the customer service, and the overall experience were all excellent. We will most definitely be back!!! read more
I wanna start by saying the matcha is delicious but I was not a fan of the blueberry syrup / combination!! This was my first time trying Rok (not counting when I had it as part of the Lasung Tofu Dine LA deal) so I was pretty psyched. This new location is super cute and fast + they have validated parking in the hmart parking. The matcha was pretty expensive but the blueberry syrup / compote was SO sweet, I ended up pouring out half into another cup and adding milk on both sides to have two drinks. I also felt like the blueberry tasted a little weird Think I'll stick with the double matcha next time! read more
had a matcha today so i went for the hojicha instead and enjoyed it. i do wish it was just a bit more roasty. i also found it on the sweeter side but usually make sweetness 50% adjustments everywhere and forgot to this time so that's not really an issue as it wasn't actually overly sweet. this location is super cute, i love the window concept and the seating they have as well. definitely on the smaller side and they only had one person working at the time so it was a little of a wait but i wasn't in a rush so no issue problem for me. read more
Had to visit Rok again after trying it for the first time last year. I really love their mugwort latte, as it's something that I don't really get to try often. I wish the sugar level could be adjusted as it was a little too sweet for me but it was still yummy. Parking was hard to find for me (maybe there's good spots but I'm not an LA native) i just turned on my hazard lights on the side of the road and my friend went to go order and get the drinks read more

There is a line because it is one of the popular matcha spots. The matcha is a little bit sweet. If I could re order I think I'd order it half sweet and then it would be perfect. I tried the matcha strawberry duo and mango duo. I think they put a good amount of fruit in it so that it actually tastes like strawberry or mango. The creamy top is a nice touch to the drink as well. I think that it balances well it's not a strong matcha flavor. The inside had a few spots to sit and it had one unisex bathroom. read more
Stopped by Rok for a cup of double matcha and at 50% sweet and oat milk, I found my drink just the right amount of sweet and matcha forward. I enjoyed every sip. The area around Rok on a Saturday afternoon is pretty quiet but there is enough seating for quite a few people to just hang. I did order online but had to go up to the counter to retrieve my drink as they did not enable in the online order system when my drink was ready. A slight bump in the experience but overall the drink made up for it. read more

Stopped by Rok Coffee after lunch to try their matcha, and it definitely lived up to the hype. Ordering is simple with two self service kiosks outside, and once your drink is ready they call your name from inside. I ordered the matcha latte at 50% sweetness, and it was perfect. The matcha had a rich, nutty flavor with a smooth, slightly creamy finish that wasn't overly sweet. It was refreshing, well-balanced, and one of the better matcha lattes I've had. Recently found out about this booth location and there is practically zero foot traffic compared to the og store. There is a cute shaded outdoor seating area to enjoy the drinks. I tried the mango coconut einspanner and the peach jasmine tea and both drinks were just way too sweet for me, but they had great matcha and fruit flavor. Also, for the price, I do feel like the cups should be bigger. read more
Easily one of the best matchas I've ever had. Rōk is a super cute and quaint little cafe tucked away in the heart of Koreatown. They have the most sleek outdoor seating, perfect for a work day. The baristas were kind and attentive and always willing to help or give recommendations. I ordered the Double Matcha, which was made to PERFECTION. The cream top is so good I'd drink a cup of just that, and the matcha was perfectly balanced and not too sweet. This is easily gonna be my new staple. read more

Rok is a phenomenal spot known for their bold matcha and tasty pastries! Their matcha duo is very strong and delicious. The interior is well-designed and the service is quick and friendly. There is usually a long line; however, it goes by pretty fast. The wait is worth it as their drinks are excellent and filling! read more
