3.5 stars if I can give that. Ordered samosa chaat and mirchi bajji/pakora. Mirchi bajji was excellent. Fresh, cripsy, tasty and full of spice. Samosa chaat was ok ok. The channa masala seemed good but the samosa was sooooo hard. Could tell that it wasn't fresh. Will likely return to order other items like parantha for dinner. Spacious and neat interior. Relatively quick service.

    The worst paneer Mattar Paneer

Probably the worst mutter paneer if have ever eaten in my whole life ... it was a watered down slosh with raw peas and hard paneer ... the aloo gobi was a 5/10 . The lassi was ok but maybe they outsourced that. Staff is not friendly either . Avoid this place and please spare us the misery of consuming this food

I made a takeout order for a House Thali and couldn't be happier. All of the items were delicious, good portion, fairly priced, and was ready for pickup very quickly. They gave a thali lunch special for even cheaper on weekdays. The samosas were also delicious. Will be back here for sure to eat in! Interior was nice and I loved all of the decor.

The guy serving pani puri at the live counter was super friendly and served with love and pride. Inside, it's counter service. Ambience is average. We ordered Pani Puri outside with 3 different types of Pani. It's definitely on the spicier side so be forewarned...if you enjoy spicy, you'll likely enjoy this panipuri Once inside we ordered Sev Puri (2/5) I ordered mild but it was still spicy but beyond the spicy, the stuffing was what one would put in panipuri so there wasn't much of a difference in taste. Paneer Pakora (3/5) here too in specifically asked if there was chutney in the pakora and was told that there is no chutney inside, it's served on the side. And lo and behold when we get the pakora, there's chutney inside. Overall, food was too spicy for our palette but if you like spicy food, this may be your thing..

Recently went to try some Indian chaat and appetizers at this place. We ordered hara bhara kabab, chhole puri and dahi papdi chaat. Of all items I loved dahi papdi chaat as it had good amount of tang and spice to it. Hara bara kabab was good and the chutneys given on side went well with it. It could have been more spicy for spice lovers. Chhole puri tasted good too and the pickle given on side definitely added to the flavor. Service is quick and staff comes and gives you food at your table. They had good amount of seating available and had baby seats also. They play some music on tv but it's not over the top. Overall a nice spot to get some Indian food.

The quantity was pretty amazing here. There were quite a few options on the menu. The food tasted average, nothing too spectacular.

Was here for a grocery run and ordered samosa chat. I usually get disappointed with samosa chaats as most of bay area restaurants just deconstruct samosas and throw few sauces, this placed made it look like a proper chaat and it tasted good enough that i will comeback for the chaat this again :)

It looked like they re-fried the Chilli Pakora, probably made hours ago. Very oily and did not taste good at all

I visited Chaat House in Fremont recently. I ordered 40 chappathis for take out. I have done this frequently before. On the way out I usually have a spoon of sweet fennel which is kept near the entrance to the restaurant. Is this allowed?

Why would it not be? :) The fennel is complimentary. Granted people would normally have it after eating, but I don't see anything wrong with having a spoonful with your to go order. After all, 40 chapatis is probably a bigger business than one…

They also have an outdoor patio where we saw a group dining with one of their furry friends. For the entrees, we got a potlam goat biryani - a delicious biryani wrapped in a banana leaf served table side. We also got the Fish Pollichathu, a fish grilled with a tomato based topping that was wrapped in a banana leaf and served with a tapioca mash and rice. All the dishes were delicious. The portions are generous and we ended up with leftovers to take back home. We also received a complimentary gulab jamun creme brulee since I was part of their mailing list and a pistachio tiramisu to celebrate our special occasion. A truly wonderful experience that made our evening special. We will look forward to returning to sample more of their offerings.

As usual, the food was full of flavor, and the curries were rich and creamy without being too oily. What we ordered: + Punjabi Kadhi with Pakora - the curry had a tangy flavor and the pakora were like dumplings. Very delicious. + Malai Kofta - these were like "meatballs" made of paneer and potatoes in a creamy tomato-y gravy. Yum. + Shahi Navratan Korma - cauliflower, peas, and cubes of cheese in a creamy, tomato-y gravy. One of our favorites. + Jadhpuri Onion Kachori - spicy, crispy, pastry stuffed with a delicious mixture of onions and potatoes. It was about the size of a donut. Great as an appetizer. + Lachcha Paratha - buttery flat bread with a spiral shape. + Roti (whole wheat) - a nice alternative to our usual naan. It's similar to naan but not as fluffy. We enjoyed their vegetarian dishes. So many of the dishes don't have descriptions so it's hard to decide what to order. Now we have lots of new dishes to include in our "favorites".

The restaurant was very busy, which likely explains why the service felt a little lacking. The ordering system wasn't my favorite. Casual fine dining. Decent seating, good for groups. Indulgent and decent enough for a small serving. *vellulli kaaram paneer-3/5- lacked salt. Paneer was softish but felt a bit chewy and hard in places. *black pepper mushroom curry- 4/5- this was my favorite dish that evening. The fragrant curry leaves, earthiness of the mushroom and the black pepper created an intoxicating combination. It was floating in excess oil but was lip smacking delicious. *chilli garlic Naan: 4.5/5: I normally don't rate naan as they are non descript but the version here was wonderful. Thin, not burnt on the downside and paired oh so well with the mushroom curry. *Egg biryani- 3.5/5- this was spicy rather than being flavorful. Since it was made with egg, I didn't mind the spice.
