I went here with coworkers for lunch. Low-keyed kind of place. Decorated with very traditional pictures and had tv screens playing Bollywood movies. We ordered. Service was just ok. He seemed to mix up our dishes to deliver to the right person, but didn't really bother to put it in front of us. He had us pass our dishes to the right person. He also forgot a tea that someone ordered. Overall, food is pretty good. It could have been spicier, but then again, I didn't specify a spiciness either. I ordered Paneer Tikka Masala (posted pics as well). You also have to order a side (naan, rice, etc) with your order. From last few months, quality of their food has downgraded so much, I tried dining in, uberEats, takeout, every thing. Last time i went there with my girlfriend, i told them i want zero spicy biryani and biryani was super spicy and red in color. I ordered uberEats and there were missing items in thali. Today I went there and ordered thali, there was a chunk of paneer in rajma(pinto beans curry), i called the server (guy from Patna) and asked him if it was chicken. This weekend, we decided to try out the chaat house on mission blvd, Fremont. To begin with, they served us water as they normally do and lo and behold there was a small cockroach in the water!! We showed this to the server and he brought us fresh water. We pushed ourselves not to leave the place and placed our orders, one of the orders was a thali the food was good but we found a 12 inch long string in one of the roties ! We showed this too the server and hope they will be more diligent on these issues. read more

We stopped at this little unassuming resto on the way to Santa Cruz, and I'm so glad we did. I didn't even realize it was a vegetarian Indian café, but I didn't care. I needed my samosa fix and I needed it fast! We got there 10 minutes after they opened, and the fresh aromas of good Indian food hit me right at the door. We wanted to eat light because we didn't want to be too full for corn dogs and funnel cakes at the Boardwalk. We started with mango lassi and masala tea. Their renditions of both drinks were spot on. The tea was robust and creamy. The lassi had a nice punch of yogurt flavor. For our lunch 'snack,' we ordered saag paneer and chaat samosa, and both the butter and garlic naans. The saag paneer was just the right portion for two to share, and nice large cubes of homemade cheese throughout. I usually eat samosas by themselves dipped in mango chutney, but the chaat samosa was a nice change. It was potato and pea samosas slathered with chickpeas, cilantro, and the most wonderful thick sauce. Really delicious stuff. Both breads were delicious, but I especially enjoyed the garlic naan. It wasn't TOO garlicky (like many naans are), and it was liberally sprinkled with cilantro, which I can never get enough of. Next time I'm in Fremont, or even just driving through, I am looking forward to stopping here again to get all of the items above, plus sample a few others. read more

I literally live around the corner from here, so my family has been coming here pretty often when we want a nice quick Indian meal. I LOVE chaat, so naturally I would love this place. I would say, hands down, order the thali's on the menu. They are SUCH a good deal. I usually go with the bhel thali, which comes with a pretty generous portion of bhel, one of their 2 veggie sabji's (they rotate these, but in my experience they've had paneer tikka masala, palak paneer, green been with aloo, and some others), papadam, roti, rice, dal, khadi, and kheer, with your choice of tea, soda, or chaas. All for just $10!! Even if you're very hungry, it's hard to finish this much food. They also have the house thali which basically comes with everything that I listed above, but instead of bhel it comes with 2 of their daily sabji's. They have plenty of seating, and service is pretty quick. Service has always been good as well. I have also been eye-ing their paneer tikka, which comes sizzling on a platter. Looks so good, one of these days I'll definitely try that. I'll definitely be coming back!! read more

Just left there was a huge roach on our meal !! We told the waiter and he apologized . Definitely do not eat here. They didn't even give a good reason for the fact there was a bug on the food . The food is decent. You can try either the Thalis or puri bhaji, puri chana, all of it was decent. The place is conveniently located so that's a plus. The only thing that needs to change is the music, that really needs a upgrade or no music is fine too. read more

This is a simple home-style vegetarian house with Indian ethnic ambience and acceptable standards of cleanliness. Service is humble and the servers are attentive. The lady in the counter is welcoming & professional. Some of my favorites from their menu ~ Samosas, Green sprouts chaat; Bread varieties like Paneer naan, roti, garlic naan; Side dish Navratan Kurma & Yogurt drink Mango Lassi. Not sure how busy this place can get during dinner hours or weekends. I've made afternoon visits so far and it has been quiet inside with wonderful Indian Bollywood Cine Music played on tv. Recently we catered their food (including alu gobi, chana masala, plain rice) and service for my husband's Big 60. Our guests really enjoyed the tasty food and complimented about the whole menu. The biggest attraction was delicious and soft kofta curry, fresh tandoori rotis and tandoori paneer! Their catering team put their hearts in their work and fulfilled every detail of our requirements. Did anyone else find the food to be stale or off terrible quantity? Last time visited I ordered paratha that was surely made by aged dough. It tasted awful. I told the waiter and he brought roti instead. Later, I saw the bill where the lady sneakingly billed me for paratha. When I asked her she mumbled for a while and then later changed the bill to that of roti. I know that she was aware of the change in order as the waiter first told her when I complained about the paratha. What a fraud! I still gave the restaurant a second chance and went yesterday. Fast, quick and no-nonsense service. Portions are normal sized. Not too spicy though. I got the bhindi masala ($8.50) with 2 traditional rotis ($1.50) and 2 masala rotis ($2.50). Bogus. If you wish to eat a chilled soggy insipid Bhel Poori then certainly visit this joint. And if you wish to eat a "no-taste", "no-face" Dahi chaat then certainly visit this place. This was acceptable Indian food. I had initially been craving some Indo Chinese food, and read reviews about the Gobi Manchurian before going there. It turned out that it wasn't available that day, so we got other items instead: - Vegetable pakora (mint and tamarind chutneys) - Hara bhara paratha - Salty lassi - Batata vada - Pav - Chili paneer The hara bhara paratha was definitely the best of the lot, followed by the pav and the vegetable pakora. The salty lassi could have been slightly thinner, but tasted fine. The chili paneer was not as I would have expected, as it wasn't the Indo Chinese style, where it's drier. Instead, it was a lot like a mattar paneer would look. The taste was nice, but again, not what I was expecting. Ended up getting pav to stuff the batatas in... mostly because the taste of the batata vada wasn't up to par. Then drenched it with the chutneys. They're probably better at their other chaats, but the dishes we got were acceptable, but nothing great. read more
