We grabbed a nice lunch here. This spot is in a strip mall on El Camino. There was plenty of parking. The pakoras were super delicious and fresh, and not over-battered like some places. I liked the veggie curry we had. The banghan bharta wasn't quite as tasty as our local places, guessing most places use different recipes. Everything was fast and fresh. I probably should have ordered one of the thali combinations so I could have tried more things! They have a large menu.

Chaat House is my go-to spot for chai and chaats when I'm craving Indian food. The ambience is clean, no-frills and welcoming. Their dahi papdi chaat is wonderful and I really like their tea. My favorite entree is their kadai paneer paired with fresh rotis.

It was our first time there. The staff was helpful and patient guiding a family of four through the menu. The ambiance and food were great with the owner very hospitable and attentive making sure everything was to our satisfaction. There was an abundance and variety of food satisfying our family along with some leftovers so our teenage sons could eat again enjoying it later. We will be back looking forward in duplicating the experience with the family and friends.

Me and my girlfriend recently went to the wonderful Sat Baba temple in Sunnyvale. It was nearing dinnertime and we got a local recommendation for some pure veg Indian cuisine which led us here. Chaat House is awesome. Super humble. I love the down to Earth vibe here. The woman who helped me was Punjabi from the Punjab region of India where I have been. I went on a yatra to Amritsar and also went to Chandigarh. I am a longtime vegan and opted for a thali. I told my server that I wanted it vegan if possible for most of the thali has raita and kheer made with dairy. She was able to make me a delicious vegan thali sans dairy. I found the thali tasty, nourishing, and healthy. It came with chana masala, palak, two different kinds of lentils, a potato dish, rice, and roti that was piping hot made in house. My girlfriend wasn't that hungry so got two extra roti and she tried it. My beloved enjoyed the thali except for the palak aka spinach dish. She enjoyed everything else and especially the fresh as you can imagine roti. I loved it all even the palak dish. Many locals got take out here and a few dined in. We could see why. This hidden gem is a find and worth checking out. Arigato. We will be back next time we visit the Sai Baba temple in Sunnyvale!

Chaat House is one of my regular spots to hang out. The food is reliably good and closely matches the flavors I remember from India. The staff is friendly and the service is generally pleasant. While I usually visit for their chaat, their lunch and dinner options are also quite flavorful and worth trying. I definitely recommend giving it a shot if you're craving authentic Indian street food.

Pretty standard and tasty vegetarian Indian place! Dropped by for a quick food stop and had hot paneer paratha and dahi sev puri. Would come back again if I'm in the area.. otherwise you could get this at most Indian restaurants in the Bay Area!

Picked up food again from here. Their food is awesome and authentic. Not doused with chilies like some other Indian restaurants. Once again a huge shoutout for the mooli(radish) paranthas. The saag-makkai ki roti ( mustard greens with corn flatbread) is delicious. 10/10 as always This time we also tried combo#1. Rice. Creamy black lentils with two sides - peas and potato + cottage cheese served with some yoghurt and kheer( milk and rice pudding) served with chaas( buttermilk spiced with mild spices). I drove 30 mins just to pick up the food and would go again and again.

My friend and I visited this restaurant for lunch. They have several options to choose from their menu. I decided to go with thali which comes with plenty of rice, several sides to choose from and you can either have chapati or roti. The restaurant serves the thali North Indian style which means there's no sambar and the food is more sour and not so spicy. The restaurant was packed when it arrived which means it is popular, but if you crave spicy thali this might not be the restaurant to visit. I ordered chapati but did not like it either. The restaurant is located in a small shopping center and parking might be a challenge.

She said the best thing with the best flavor of what we had was the spring rolls. The chow fun and sweet and sour savory were not super flavorful. The sweet and sour savory vegan protein was more doughy than I expected. It tasted and had the consistency of mochi doughnuts. The chow fun was ok, but didn't have much flavor. We did really enjoy the fresh spring rolls though. It was also not the greatest of starts either, because we walked in as their door was open but they told us to go back outside because they weren't open yet (we were like 15min before open) And then like 5min later, 2 people walked in and they were seated. So, we just followed them in and were seated. It was a large space so it can host small and large parties. Our waiter was super nice and friendly. And the food came out fast, but I wasn't sure if that was because we were one of 3 groups in there at the time. In total, it wasn't too expensive either. All 3 dishes I believe came out to be like $45 (without tax/tip).

I am one of those people who thinks that just about every meal needs animal protein or it won't be satisfying. Well, Happy Flower proved me wrong because I came away with a very happy and full stomach and I did not even miss the meat! We ordered 8 different dishes to share family style, and I was especially pleased with the all seasons sampler and vegan fried rolls appetizers, as well as the pad Thai, salted fish fried rice, hainan chicken rice, tomato fish, and happy clay pot entrees. Each dish was quite large such that all 9 of us were able to try generous portions of each dish. And then we got two servings of the mango sticky rice to share and the mango was amazingly sweet! I did not try their boba drinks, but a few of my friends ordered drinks and enjoyed them. Their boba drinks are sized quite large as well. I will say, the meat doesn't necessarily taste like the meat it purports to imitate, but the textures for the fake chicken and fish are pretty spot on! Service was friendly and helpful and they delivered the dishes at a good pace. The inside isn't fancy, but it's clean and well lit and spacious. I wish I had known about this hidden gem sooner, but they had a good clip of takeout orders and families coming in for dinner. Parking is also plentiful and easy in their large attached lot. I will be back!

Crispy, and there is salt and black pepper in it, but overall it doesn't have much flavor outside of the sauce. Lemongrass fish lunch plate modified to have soy beef (you can switch out the protein): The broccoli itself itself was just steamed with no flavoring, so that was underwhelming. But the lemongrass beef is pretty good, firm and chewy not spicy. One of the others in my party got the eastern duck soup, which has a stronger soup flavor, you can taste the anise. It also has shiitake mushrooms. It came with veggie drumsticks, on an actual stick, but just takes like soy protein, doesn't really taste like duck. I tried a bit of Cali pho too, which was mild but pleasant, it has a ton of vegetables. Overall I'd give it more of a 3.5/5, there were certainly some items that could've used better seasoning/flavoring, but I do appreciate the amount of options that are suitable for vegetarians and actually being able to enjoy noodle soups that would usually have been meat-based. They do have outdoor tables and at the time when I had gone, no one else was sitting outside.

I am not the kind of mom who eats kids leftovers all the time. So I wanted my own dosa. Food was incredibly satisfying. Servers are very attentive and they came three times to our table offering more chutney and sambhar. We already had enough but if you like more sambhar and chutney with your food, this is heaven. One server even came with ghee for my little ones for idlis. I was so grateful. He was genuinely sweet to my kid. Felt a connection than just a business! Ambiance is classy and relaxed at the same time. Nobody gave me the side eye when my three year old was a little noisy. Have a corner for takeout containers for leftover food, very generous. I would highly recommend this place for its delicious food, relaxed atmosphere and friendly service. Prices are reasonable. They have happy hour daily from 3-6 pm and when we went at 5.30, the restaurant was more than 70% full on a Thursday. Eat early and save money too. We really had a very good time! Only after my payment was processed did they hand me my food and say, "Thank you." I completely understand that businesses need to protect themselves and ensure orders are paid for before they're released. That's not the issue. It's the way it was handled. As a customer, it felt like I was being treated as if I might take the food and run, rather than being welcomed into a local, family-owned business. A simple greeting, confirming the order, and then politely requesting payment would have made all the difference. Great customer service and protecting your business can absolutely go hand in hand. The food was outstanding, but the experience made me feel unwelcome. Sadly, because of the customer service, I don't see myself returning.

The mushroom bao was another standout. The mushroom was perfectly fried, tucked inside a soft, fluffy bao, and topped with a tangy slaw. Great combination of crispy, soft, savory, and acidic. The kale Caesar salad was also delicious. Fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. At this point, I was thinking 5 stars and was excited enough to come back the very next day. Second Visit - A Different Experience I ordered: * Beet Poke * Mushroom Bao * Kale Caesar Salad * Potato Pizza Unfortunately, things were much more inconsistent. The beet poke was probably the biggest disappointment. There was barely any seaweed, very little textural contrast, and the dressing tasted completely different from the day before. It was also barely dressed. If this had been my first experience with the dish, I honestly would not have ordered it again. The mushroom bao was still good, but it didn't taste the same as the previous day. The slaw was noticeably spicy this time, whereas it hadn't been spicy at all on my first visit. It made me wonder if there were different chefs or if the recipes/preparations simply weren't being followed consistently. The kale Caesar was the one dish that remained consistent, still delicious on day two. The potato pizza was underwhelming and definitely something I wouldn't order again. The flavor combo wasn't working with me. We also got the gluten free crust which was not great. Almost more of a cracker than a pizza crust. The Verdict: If I were reviewing this restaurant based only on my first visit, I would have given it 5 stars. The food was fresh, creative, flavorful, and genuinely memorable. But after coming back the very next day and having several dishes taste noticeably different, I had to take a few stars away. I'm not sure if there were different chefs, different prep, or something else going on behind the scenes, but consistency is such a key part of a great restaurant experience, especially when you're paying restaurant prices. When a dish is fantastic one day and just okay the next, it's hard to know what experience you're actually going to get. The ambience is great, and while the service was friendly, it was also a bit slow. Overall, I still see the potential here, and my first visit was genuinely excellent. I just wish the second visit had lived up to it.

I paired my meal with a Nepal Ice Beer, which was refreshing and complemented the food perfectly. The highlight, without a doubt, was the Chicken Chilli. The balance of spice, salt, sweetness, and Chilli sauce was exceptional--every bite was perfectly seasoned. I've traveled across four continents--Asia, Europe, North America, and Australia--and I can honestly say this is one of the best Chicken Chilli dishes I've ever had. The flavor balance and execution were simply outstanding. Unfortunately, I had to rush to catch my flight, so I couldn't stay as long as I wanted. Even so, the meal left a lasting impression, and I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town. Highly recommended for anyone looking for incredible food, a relaxing atmosphere, and an unforgettable dining experience.

The staff were all very friendly, especially the person who took care of us. The chicken lollipop that she recommended were absolutely delicious - hot, juicy and perfectly seasoned. The other item that surprised us was the Prawn Helambu Aloo - it's not heavy at all, and if you like cilantro, you'll probably love it like I did! All the momos were delicious as well, I especially liked the ones that were deep fried. It was a great experience and I will for sure come back! 10/10 recommend!
