I am writing this review after having missed the PTown summer season for the first time since I was 7. I miss the people, the beach, the atmosphere, but sweet merciful lord, I miss the breakfast at Chach! While I don't blame them for my diabetes diagnosis, their French Toast definitely helped break my pancreas and y'all it's so good I don't care! I love this place! The waitstaff is warm and the food is yummy- I love the huevos rancheros- get it with the toasted Portugese roll, so you can absorb all the dish! Before the huevos, I had a crush on the green chile omelet- which is so awesome and inspiring! They also have fresh pies each day that are home-made, so save room for that! read more

When we can't decide whether we're still in the egg zone, or looking to venture into lunch territory -- a condition we find ourselves in pretty much every weekend -- no worries, Chach always satisfies each member of our group, no matter where we fall on that spectrum. So I guess you could say it's the perfect brunch option, but I'm a little reverse-snooty, and to me a "best brunch" label COULD also mean a place that comes with a little attitude, or a s/he's-all-that crowd, and Chach doesn't, refreshingly. Dependably good food. Mixed in with those dependable finds are a few rotating specials, and most of the time we'll add one of those in, too ('cause we hate to go a week without our go-to favorites) -- the toasts, with varying spreads including avocado and/or beets, for example, are particularly yummy. read more

Great Breakfasts! We went with a big group and everyone really enjoyed their meal- from Benedict options (Great hollandaise sauce), to french toast (yum- with lemon curd), to omelets and huevos rancheros. The juices were excellent, including fresh squeezed cranberry! That was a whole cut above Ocean Spray cranberry drink. Why not 5 stars? Tea selection surprisingly minimal for a foodie place. but more importantly, the prices were pretty steep for breakfast- especially the add-on options for meals. Best Eggs Benedict and home fries I have ever had. I had the Sharon's Eggs Benedict (regular way) and my wife had the California Eggs Benedict (with avacado, bacon and tomato). Last day in town and I wanted to try something off the main drag. I made the right choice. I came in wanting breakfast but saw a BLT leave the kitchen and decided I wanted that instead. The bacon was thick, crispy, and not 90% fat like most places. There was just enough mayo with fresh tomatoes and lettuce. The fries were perfectly cooked. I try to stay away from fries but I was unsuccessful. They were good. The staff was warm and inviting. My coffee cup was only empty for a minute. The air conditioner made the humidity melt away. Talk about a hidden gem, I had the Cuban sandwich and my fiancee had the fried oyster benedict....both of them were absolutely out of this world. You can't do better than Chach for breakfast or lunch when you come to visit Provincetown or you're staying in Truro, the next town over. It's popular with both locals and those on vacation. We ate here twice in one week. It's that good. Each ingrediant of the eggs benedict is fresh and perfectly cooked. It looks lovely plated and it's super tasty whether you order it traditional with ham or seafood style with crab cake or fried oysters. This dish comes with home style potatoes that actually tastes like potatoes just made at home. I can also vouch for the turkey bacon club style sandwich and the fries that come with. Chach isn't right on Commercial Street so many people probably miss out on it, but it's worth seeking it out. Sometimes there is a short wait to get in but stick around. The servers actually are engaging and enjoyable to chat with. The food is great and the prices are very reasonable. One thing that was very important to our group is that one of us has a food allergy so it is important that he feel like the server understands and will ensure that his food will be safe. Our sever was so well educated of food allergies and even took the time to explain how they ensure that there is no cross contamination. I highly recommend Chach! read more

Went here with a friend to check out a new place in town for breakfast. We arrived shortly before 10am and had to wait about 10 minutes for a table, but were eventually seated at a booth. For our meal, we decided to split the french toast and the chile verde pork with a side of blueberry cornbread. The blueberry corn bread was pretty good. Not the best cornbread I have ever had, but a pretty good spin on a classic dish. The french toast (which they put that they are famous for) was quite lack luster. I did not enjoy it really as it tasted like the kind of french toast that I am able to make at home by myself--which is not that great. Thankfully, the omelette saved the day. This was definitely the best dish of the meal and was a good size too for the price. Overall, the food was very good (with the exception being the french toast) and the pricing was very reasonable. The service was a bit errant at times, but it was made up for with a friendly attitude and good service. Definitely worth making the trek out to this place. read more

Okay, I almost gave four stars...but then realized it was only due to the fact that this is one of the few restaurants open during the winter. In my book, just opening your doors does not get you a star! Went for lunch on a Sunday in February before heading back to the city. I personally love the diner type vibe. They have a chalkboard on the back with the specials written on and the booths are comfy enough. The location is a little out of the way, which is probably why I don't go more often. Parking is pretty tight if they're busy. For the food: They used to have a chicken tortilla soup that was awesome...not an option this time. The rest of the menu is nothing to write home about, but does the job to fill an empty stomach. My partner did have the worst black bean burger ever. It's great that it's made from scratch...but maybe they should get a new recipe. It almost looked like a scoop of canned beans were thrown on a grill then placed on a bun. No resemblance to any type of 'patty' I have ever seen Service...hey, I got my food. Again, not bad and not good. I've been to Chach every time I make it down to Ptown. The main dining room has big windows and brightly colored booths. Although the service can be slow, (but the wait staff is almost always cheery) and sometimes you have to wait for a table on weekend mornings (especially in the summer), it's worth the wait. The Eggs Benedict is the best I've ever tasted in a restaurant and check out the specials, because they often do variations with steak or crab. Also, the French Toast is another must have. It's soaked over-night in an incredible vanilla custard. It can get a little pricey for a breakfast joint, and they don't take credit cards, so make sure you bring cash. read more

We love this place and come here often. Reliably delicious breakfast entrees. Lunch is good, but not as good as breakfast. The french toast is like a really delicious bread pudding. It's thick and custardy, comes with real maple syrup, and when you order it with fresh berries (in season) it can't be beat. Eggs benedict are exactly as they should be: runny and buttery with a good thick hollandaise sauce. One note of caution about breakfast: make your own coffee before you go, because theirs is pretty bad. Some people have remarked that the wait staff at Chach can be a bit prickly. In 2010 there did seem to be one disgruntled waiter, that's true, but the others are all fine, not chit-chatty but efficient and attentive. Nine times out of ten we've gotten good or great service and the food is good enough to make up for the occasional grump. The reason this place doesn't get five stars (besides the lackluster coffee) is that it is not air conditioned. Inexplicably their solution on hot days is to close the doors (NO BREEZE!) and put on a couple of fans. This doesn't work. P-Town usually doesn't get unbearably hot, but when it does, it really doesn't make sense to eat at Chach. read more

If you're lucky enough to be at Chach's when there's a shrimp special, grab it quick and you won't be disappointed. There is the shrimp tostada that is delicious. But this summer Chach has added several variations -- each of which is equally wonderful. There was the smoked shrimp, the shrimp ceviche and today shrimp with orzo, avocado, feta cheese, fresh salad and dill vinaigrette. These are perfect summer meals. The specials' board always has interesting selections -- soups, French toast, sandwiches, muffins, and home baked pastries, even Cuban empanadas. Eating in Provincetown can be an expensive proposition. But not at Chach. Based on the great reviews here, we decided to stop in for breakfast. Hubby had ham and cheese omelette, and I had linguica (Portuguese sausage - a little like kielbasa) and cheddar omelette. They both filled the plates, and came with a side of home fries (diced red potatoes) and a thick slice of toast (white, wheat, or rye). Both totaled $21 and filled us beyond what we thought. Seating is plentiful based on Ptown standards, and tops out around 50 seats, some at the counter, the remainder in tables and booths. Our waitress was warm, funny, and always attentive. Heaven, I'm in Heaven. What? I'm not in Heaven, I'm in Chach? As has been abundantly stated, the most amazing, HEAVENLY, vanilla-infused French toast ever made. I can't finish it, can't eat the middle because it gets too soggy and gloopy. But the crusty edges, thick all the way up and down: give me more, 'til I burst! I love the waitstaff. I think some are leftover from the last restaurant here whose name escapes me. I love the woman with the fish tattoos. Is she a Pisces? I don't know, ask her. She also has a great haircut and a sort of typical "does she like me or hate me?" Provincetown vibe. The older gentlemen waiters who are generous with the "sweeties" and "honeys" are an easier read: obviously they love me. My kids love it, my hubby loves it, my mother (yes, my unpleaseable mother) loves it, our friends love it, our kids' friends love it. Closed on Wednesdays, so don't take a 3-hour walk down the beach from your condo and expect a big hunking breakfast on a Wednesday. If you've never vacationed in Ptown yet, you may be surprised at the prices, which are on the high side, esp. considering that this is mostly breakfast. The music can be unpredictably loud or simply too Ptown for me. Lots of locals, always a good sign. Chach gets thumbs up with a twist (highest rating). read more

Delicious food and charming Provincetown restaurant. Coffee was flavorful and plentiful. I had two eggs over easy with home fries, rye toast, and sliced avocado (+$2.50). My eggs were perfectly cooked with gorgeous golden runny yolk, and the home fries were crispy and fantastic. My mom got Sharon's eggs benedict with ham, and it was yummy as well. The third person in our party got the breakfast burrito. It had sour cream all over the outside, so it had to be eaten with fork and knife, which was a little inconvenient and messy. Otherwise it was great. We also all shared a French toast, which had a fragrant vanilla flavor and was very moist. It scratched our brunch itch very well. My only complaint is that there was no cell/data service where the restaurant was, so I wished they had wifi--as tourists, we wanted to plan our next destination on our trip, but we couldn't get online to look anything up.
