I noticed, on Friday and Saturday nights, they have Al Pastor on the Trumpo. I decided to give them a try. However, the Trumpo isn't spinning (cooking the Al Pastor). The gentleman working the cart simply slices the meat onto a flat top and sears it. It's then topped off with the smallest serving of pineapple possible. The Al Pastor taco was just alright. It's nice to have some place to get Pupusas near Cambrian park. They have a very diverse menu and they have my favorite, which is the pork and bean pupusas. They make everything fresh, so it isn't super quick. I suggest you order ahead and go pick up if you're in a rush. It comes with the cabbage and the sauce and the price is quite reasonable. Ah, the dreaded two-star review. Like birthday cards and compliments on your baby daughter who looks like Chris Farley, I don't give many out. I didn't have a horrible experience, but I'd never return. The ambiance sucks: a rectangle with yellow walls, orange booths, and folding tables, with big windows facing the busiest intersection in Cambrian Park. And it's all way too brightly-lit. I figured it must be the food that has it so crowded, or these people are half-moth. They probably have the biggest selection of food on their big photo menus, but the food was muy meh. The chips to start were the kind of little round chips you'd buy in bulk from Oriental Trading that wouldn't fit in the little plastic cup of salsa. The carnitas burrito barely had any meat. The total meat in the dough-heavy burrito could fit into a tablespoon. It was as though instead of stripping the meat from a pig, they stripped a pig in a blanket. Simply, I have reviewed six other places within a five-mile radius that are much much better, and that's not even counting the chains. It's a bad sign if I would rather go to Chipotle. read more

This place was good but didn't stand out to me. I came here on my lunch break and ordered tacos and a tinga tostada (added sour cream). We were seated right away and i was pleasantly suprised they had tripa tacos. The al pastor had good flavor but the tacos overall were just ok. They gave me green salsa an my friend red salsa...not sure why. They also forgot the sour cream on the tostada and we had to chase them down for it. The menu is quite extensive and I appreciate that they have more rare mexican and even salvadorian food so there is something for everyone. I do think the food is pricey for what it is but its nice to have another food option in the neighborhood. read more

I've been there before vowed to never go back has been about two years ago my son home from college said hey let's go there since it's close to our home. I thought OK I'll try it one more time. They're still in business and must have gotten better. It was absolutely horrible. I ordered chili Verde. The meat was basically almost like chicharrones (verde sauce was decent) the beans were cold. My son got a plate of enchiladas (4 very small) no beans or rice on the side $29 with a Coke. It is terrible. Service is not great, super slow. I highly recommend not to go. They do not have prices on the menu but you assume when you go to their website there's nothing more expensive than about $19.99 for fajitas so the fact that Tiny enchiladas with barely anything in it would cost $29 with a Coke. They did not charge me for the verde after about 4 bites which I do give credit. read more

Came here two days after they opened I must say this is some good food. BUT I did have an incident that didn't sit right with me. First of all, cool little corner spot down the street from my house. Definitely pops especially since it's so bright and on a busy street. Ordered inside and some things that I noticed that kind of made me question some things. The tables are foldable picnic tables. Not sure if they were in a rush to open or that's just their set up? But then, I noticed the flooring. It looks like the old flooring when the donut shop was in. Only thing was, it was kinda dirty. Looks like they didn't really take the time to clean this place up or even renovate it. I got mixed feelings about the ambiance of the place. On the other hand, the food was not bad. I got a burrito and that was okay. The salsa it came with was good as well. It's like an avocado green salsa type. The pupusas were SOO GOOD! I ended up getting the chicharron pupusa and the bean and chicharron pupusa. They were so good! Tbh, it was my first time ever having one and they were really good! I even had to search up how to eat it because it came with some type of slaw to eat it with. BUT THEN, I took my first bite with the slaw and I had a weird texture bite. Never had Salvadoran food before but wow. I thought I was just coming in for one taco but the lady said the special dishes are the pupupsas and the quesadilla Gus. I got the pork cheese pupusas and a chicken quesadilla Gus. The quesadilla Gus is like a big taco but the tortilla is hand made and super thick and fried on the outside so it has a slight crunchy texture. Both were amazing. Wow. Pupusa had flavorful meet and good cheese. Little oily but who cares. Comes with this cabbage slaw that's great. Quesadilla Gus was amazing as well. Wow. November 23, 2021 and it's 1:45pm. Busy place! There is a sign in Spanish stating 35-45 minutes before food is ready. We were glad that a few plastic Costco tables were available. The chairs are easy to clean metal painted orange. There are 5 TVs. The menu is huge. Lots and lots of choices on both sides (see the 6 pictures I posted). Corn chips are out of a bag and the salsa is good. No fountain drinks. Canned sodas, but many other choices. We saw many plates of food go by and everything looks delicious. We ordered several pupusas and soft tacos. The tacos are small, the meats on the dry side, but tasty. This is the freshest Mexican/Salvadoran food around. I don't know what some of these lower reviews are complaining about, how long it takes for food to be Prepared. The food here is made to order. It's a little pricey but this is some of the best Mexican food I've ever tasted. The tacos and quesadillas they have Salvadoran style are out of this world. It's pretty funny to read some of the reviews from the "elite" yelpers. It's like they've never been to the other locations saying chipotle is better. You can't even compare the two. This is a solid 4 star place, and like almost any place knowing what to order is key. They have a really big menu, but there are somethings they do better than others. Pupusas would be a good starting point, a pambazo always hits the spot, and then work your way from there. In other words order the Salvadoran stuff that you can't get in a Mexican restaurant. Went here a couple months ago since my Salvadorian bf wanted me to try pupusas for the first time. They did not disappoint! We ordered different pupusas & suadero tacos which were very flavorful. Came here again recently and had an even better experience on a Friday night. Considering they were busy, the waitresses were super attentive on checking on us. She was always smiling and seemed happy to be working here. Their pupusas were great! I love their curtido & plantains with the sour cream. To top it off, we finished with their flan for dessert & that was by far the best flan I've ever had. And I've tried a lot of flans. The consistency was perfect as well as the syrup which had the right amount of sweetness. They even drizzled chocolate on it & put a purple orchid flower which was so cute!
