    Super tacos with carne asada
    Stacy C.

Stopped in for lunch today. I've been eating at Super Taqueria for 40 years, starting when I was a teenager in Morgan Hill. Now I pretty much only eat at this one on Almaden. It's always busy, but I can always find a parking spot in the small lot and the line to order goes fast. Today I had two carne asada super tacos, no beans, the same thing I've been ordering for 40 years. I don't think the tacos have changed in all that time. The meat is flavorful and I love the melted cheese and avocado slices. The pico they put on it is good, but I like to add a few drops of the spicy green sauce. The reason for the three stars is the restaurant interior is in need of refurbishment. The booth seats are badly cracked, the salsa bar is hard to get to, and the tables are uncomfortable. Plus it just feels old and dirty. It would be a much better experience with a clean, renovated dining area.

My sister and I came to order takeout for dinner on a Friday night around 6PM. They have their own dedicated parking lot and it was packed. We got lucky and got the last available spot behind the restaurant. Upon entering this time, it was extremely smoky (similar to when you go to KBBQ). It's never been smoky when I visited in the past so the ventilation system must've been broken today, oh well. I ordered the Asada Giant Super Burrito ($10.29) and my sister ordered a few Asada Super Tacos Diablo style ($4.94/each). They forgot the avocado in my Giant Super Burrito so minus 1-star. The rice in my Giant Super Burrito was also mushy and not cooked correctly so minus another star. The Asada Super Tacos are hefty and flavorful; I will stick with those next time I visit. There is a self-serve sauce bar with 2 options - green or red. Green sauce is surprisingly spicy. You have to ask the workers for a sauce cup; lids are sitting on top of the self-serve sauce bar. Workers are friendly. They're all hustling to crank out the food. Keep an ear out for your number - they call it out in both Spanish and English.

I used to love Super Taqueria a few years ago but sadly it has gone downhill. Came in the other day and decided the try a new meat, lengua. We asked the lady at the register what comes in the super burrito because I love having rice and certain items inside. She lets me know that the super burrito with come with rice, beans, and whatever else it had inside. Because of that I ordered a super burrito lengua. The lady did not tell me the lengua super burrito would not come with rice. If i'm specially asking what it comes with you should let the person know that it won't come with rice!! Anyways, we asked the lady after at the register if the super burrito came with rice and then she let us know that it did not so we ended up having to pay for another burrito with rice this time and it still wasn't good. The lengua pieces were so big and the burrito was just overall dry even with sauce. They only have two choices of salsa, a red and green both were ok. The pineapple drink was not good at all. Tasted really artificial and not fresh. I would definitely not return to this place. All of the other reviews about service and food are bad for a reason.

Nachos are the bomb, served quickly and hot. Usually a busy place when I get there but they keep it clean and moving.

This restaurant is in the corner of an intersection and it is always busy when I arrive! Once you order, you can go pick out your sauces and wait for your number to be called! There are a lot of people working inside so I think it's a pretty fast paced restaurant! I got their carne asada burrito and it was good! I visited a few time already and love to go back!

It's a little divey but the food is incredibly delicious. The entire chain of restaurants is good. My favorite is the carne asada super burrito. Toasted. And the green sauce rocks. Made fresh. And get the cilantro and onions. Burritos are usually generally similar but I'm telling you the burritos at Super are unique. It's the meat and tortilla they use. Super tacos are also tasty and the nachos decent, but the burrito is where it's at. Do it.

The Super Tacos de Cabeza and Carnitas
    Blake P.

When I do Mexican, I usually don't do Super Taqueria but today, I decided to try their tacos de Cabeza and boy, I was blown away. Firstly, the tacos de cabeza were very good, the cabeza was just pure meat and was so soft, I didn't even have to chew a lot. It was very juicy too. The Cabeza also had an good flavor in it. The tacos de cabeza was a 8.8 out of 10. Next, I got an super taco de carnitas and overall, it was good. The carnitas weren't too dry, they had an good amount of flavor to them, and it was good, nothing wrong with it. 8.0 out of 10. The burrito and the nachos were also good and they were good sized and good priced, both get an solid 8 out of 10. The service was good, staff was overall nice and friendly, the cashier was very nice. The food came out quick. Ambiance was that it was clean, had an good amount of seating and yeah. So I highly recommend this place if you want Mexican food but you want it quick, good and affordable.

Delicious, Fast and cheap! This Taqueria always hits the spot. My favorite tacos are tacos de cabeza. I enjoy that they serve the tacos with avocado and cheese. They ask if you want a crunchy tortilla or soft. The service is extra fast! Even in lunch hour. I'm glad they take cards now too! The green salsa is always the least spicy and the red salsa is always the spicy one. Just FYI :)

They have seating out front inside and in the back, but the place was pretty full. Nonetheless, we were seated quickly as we had a reservation. It is a good idea to call ahead and make one. The prices are high, but hopefully all their people are making a good living and the portions are enough for our appetites at least. I had the shrimp enchiladas, and my wife had the vegetarian tacos with a side order of scrambled eggs. There was nearly a mixup as the waiter thought we wanted to order an egg taco and that's considerably more expensive but we got it straightened out with the maitre D. We also shared a Paloma cocktail with which has a pretty color and delightful taste.

This made it so seamless to reserve here. Our group got there at opening and our table was ready and most of the group was already seated when we got there. Drink orders were flowing as the waitress caught up to me and I got a cafe de olla. We browsed the menu and the more I looked the harder it was to pick one thing. I ended up choosing chilaquiles with a bandera sauce and carne asada as the added protein. The rest of the table got all different types of dishes from carne en su jugo to birria to omelettes. While we enjoyed each other's company sipping on our cafecito I enjoyed the ambiance of the space. Nicely decorated for the holidays. Since it was opening time it wasn't as loud as I imagine it can get in there. The sun did shine on the faces of those facing the windows which was not enjoyable for them. There was no way to cover the sun either since it was coming in from the top windows with no shade. My food came out along with the rest of the plates and we went right in to enjoy them. My favorite chilaquiles was covered in the white sauce. The red and green were good but the white sauce was my favorite. The carne was cooked well but I could taste it wasn't marinated or lacked flavor. I didn't get a knife to cut the meat so it was very difficult to enjoy a piece with my chilaquiles. It was hard to cut with a butter knife. I thought it would be a piece of steak but it was a piece of carne asada. Eggs were scrambled and cooked well. The whole plate was filling, had flavor, and was a good portion. The cafe de olla had a good flavor but a tad sweet for my preference. The space in here is a vibe. A fun place to enjoy large gatherings. I came for breakfast but will update when I come back to visit for dinner. Bathrooms are clean. Staff was welcoming and efficient in taking care of our group. Hospitality was a 10/10. Parking in the am was a breeze but at prime time I can see it being a complete nightmare so plan accordingly. I enjoyed my visit and will come back to check out the dinner menu.

Tasting the green (mild?) salsa was my favorite. It had a great tomatillo flavor with a creamy spiciness. It was a good reprieve from my main dish. A Paloma was my drink of choice this time. I'll preface this by saying I'm not a fan of tequila but when presented with the cold clay mug rimmed with salt and topped with orange and grapefruit, I was impressed. It was delicious, so refreshing, fragrant, and cold! A nice counterbalance to my meal. Chilaquiles was a dish I wanted to try. They had delicious chips again cooked in salsa verde. Covered with eggs (any style) fresh crema, avocado, and onions the chilaquiles exceeded my expectations. So simple yet so flavorful. Mixing up quantities of ingredients in each bite made for a delicious experience. My favorite element being the sharpness of the onions which cut the richness of the dish. I'm generally not a fan of refried beans but these ones had such a unique and satisfying flavor which complimented the dish well. My server, Luis was very helpful and quick to check in and make sure I was doing okay! I cannot wait to try out their fish tacos and various drinks from the menus next time!
