Called for a simple quote on two small apartment sized rooms. Should have known when they asked for a $25 deposit that something was wrong with this company. I had been given 2 quotes already and they were 100% free. They assured me it would be given back after the quote appointment was completed..... When they arrived "Surprise" the rate was twice as much as advertised. Even more than other companies quoted for all the carpets. After sharing the other quotes I'd been given I was told I should pay the extra for them because we are both black.... When I declined their services "Surprise" I was told the $25 was non refundable and was their gas fee for coming out to my home. Who would pay someone to show up to there home and do nothing? I had been thinking I might have to replace the carpet, but Kevin got all the stains out. All of them. Bonus is that he called me fairly soon after I called him and was available today. I'd contacted several other cleaners who were booked into July and my time frame was shorter than that. If I was going to rent a cleaner at Safeway and spend hours doing it, it would have cost me 90 bucks. These folks are true professionals! The replied to my call and VM with a quick text back and we're there within an hour. They even were sensitive to my price point and surpassed my expectations. The carpet on the stairs and etc... looked brand new. The thing that touched my most above and beyond the great work they did on stain removal and overall cleaning was that KEVIN the owner showed up with his 13yr old son (this was on a Sunday) to accommodate the work request. Great to see a father showing his son what work ethic looks like. They were both respectful and careful navigating the home making sure to protect the corners of the walls and wiping up all excess water; leaving the property cleaner then when they arrived. On Saturday the 29th I called for an early morning carpet cleaning appointment and Kevin's wife set me up with an appointment within a week! After pressure washing the house it made sense to have our carpets done, "clean inside & out" It was so easy to talk to his wife and make the appointment she quoted me 49$ per room, Today I was called before hand to confirm they were on their way! I showed Kevin and his son (who was a great helper) the 2 living areas that needed to be done and half the stair to the first step and went right to it. I was taken aback by the price at first (and my boyfriend was full-on outraged when I told him after the fact), but Kevin did such a better job than past carpet cleaners we've hired. Our rented apartment has light beige wall-to-wall carpeting (whyyy) that is nearly impossible to keep clean with a dog and a cat and regular foot traffic, and it was not in good shape when Kevin arrived. I don't think it had been professionally cleaned for a year and a half. He did a deep cleaning that removed all the dirt and nearly all of the stains, except some very old stains that have been there since we moved in four years ago. Overall, I'd highly recommend Champs for carpets that really need a deep clean; just expect to pay a more than you might expect. It's worth it. I had my carpets cleaned today and I went into it thinking it would be one price based on a quote. When the guys arrived the price more than tripled. In addition to that, I sat on my porch while getting my carpets cleaned. After the service was completed and the guys left, I noticed my two dollar bill that I'd had wrapped around my bamboo plant more than one year ago was missing. I'd seen it earlier that morning when I watered the plant. I also knew that my son who is currently out of state had a box of sage and 10-20 one dollar bills in a box on his dresser. I'd also seen this earlier this morning when I went to move things out the walkway. Well, those were also missing! After speaking with my family over the phone, they advised me to call the owner which I did. The owner stated he'd been working with the guys two plus years, they make good money and stealing a few bucks was beneath them. Well it's not too beneath them because it happened! I'm home alone. I'm so disappointed as when you allow a company into your home you expect a level of professionalism which this company lacked from them stealing to the owner practically blowing me off when I provided the feedback. Definitely do NOT recommend. They quoted me a ballpark price on the phone, and then when the owner showed up, he tripled the price. His numbers didn't match up anywhere close to the woman who quoted me on the phone (his wife). As well, they came outside of the service time, and as soon as he walked in the door he tried to upsell me on cleaning our furniture (one of the pieces was 1 month old) - before he even looked at what I called them for.
