Great food and friendly service! Chandler's is inside a Hilton Hotel so it may not be the most obvious choice for dinner but the food was really good. I highly recommend the filet mignon and their mixed drinks are also very nice. I had never been here before so I wasn't too sure about how it would be but I'm happy to say that I was pleasantly surprised. The service is excellent and super friendly! I'm not sure if I would come back because of the location but if you were staying at the hotel or lived nearby it would be an excellent choice. read more

It was a beautiful warm sunny day that my friend and I decided to eat on the patio. We opt to sit a bit in the shade because the sun was extremely hot. Food: Fried Calamari Ponto Beach Burger with fries Unfortunately, I was not a fan of the sauces that was given with the fried calamari. Out of the two given I opt to dip it in the cocktail sauce that was a bit chunky. The calamari was also just okay with the batter breaking apart whenever I poked my fork into a piece. The ponto burger looked so good as other patrons ordered it and passed right by us that we just had to order one. To me, the bread was just too much. Very thick that I had to take the top bun of then eventually decided not to eat the bread and just eat the meat. Also, the meat had no flavor. Service was just alright. We saw her from time to time but not excessively coming around to check on us. We noticed that our server was not around so we walked in the restaurant to look for her to get our bill. After a few other servers looking for her, we finally got our bill. Overall, I would return for a drink or check out their HH since the location is beautiful. I am extremely surprised by the overall star rating here! I was a little nervous to come here, but was more than happy with my meal (as was the rest of my party). We booked this place to celebrate my grandfathers 88th birthday. As a group of 10, we were notified that they could accommodate us on the outdoor patio. It was super cold and windy outside, but we were provided with multiple heaters. The menus had "Happy 88th Birthday, Donald" printed on the top-super thoughtful and cute. Our waitress was extremely attentive and friendly throughout the entirety of the night. All of the food was delicious. I got the braised short ribs and will absolutely be returning to get them again! Everyone else really enjoyed their food as well. Amongst the group there was halibut, steak, Caprese salad, Caesar salad, flatbreads, and mussels. Not one complaint from anyone. I was taken to Chandler's for my birthday dinner. My first time here. One of the best meals I've ever eaten! Being from the east coast the clam chowder was delicious the crab cake exquisite, the cheese board amazing! The filet mignon just melts in your mouth! The service was top notch. Friendly and attentive from the hostess, the bus people, the management and of course our server Jill! Kudos to the Chef and Sous Chefs as well! The ambiance was wonderful! The waterfront view to the live music that was just the right decimal and calming effect to complement the dining experience. I will definitely be returning with new guests to enjoy this experience! I have eaten at this restaurant multiple times. Previously when I lived in Carlsbad, and more recently I tried this restaurant while staying at the Hilton (this restaurant is part of the hotel). I ate here several times: breakfast, lunch and happy hour. I am a Hilton Honors Diamond member and you get a $15 credit to use at the restaurant (Max 2 per room - double occupancy). My favorite was the lunch and happy hour menu. For breakfast I tried the eggs benedict, but they were just OK, not amazing. My daughter had the french toast, and it was the same. The lunch and Happy hour menus were much better. I had a delicious lobster roll, sweet potato fries and clam chowder. The Happy hour had discounted drinks, and some discounted appetizers. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. I highly recommend the outdoor seating because it has some good views o f the Ocean. The Happy hour and Lounge are also mostly outdoors, which gives you wonderful views of the Ocean. Also, I read a sign that said you get parking validation at the Chandler's restaurant and 2 hours free when parking at the Hilton. Also, I do not know whether the parking validation is free for more than 2 hours, but its worth checking. I would highly recommend this location for Happy Hours due to the nice Ocean Views and the sunset. read more

I wasn't a huge fan of their menu, but they had some unlisted specials, which I ordered. The lamb could've been a little more tender but the flavor was still very good. We had the shrimp cocktail- they were very plump and fresh. The dessert was decent - we had the salted caramel sundae. It was good, not great - the ice cream and cookies were fresh, but the waffle bowl was a little stale. It was a pretty lively place, with a beautiful view to boost. We had dinner inside next to a window and had one of the servers open the blinds to see the sunset. It was an incredible view! There were also tables outside, but we wanted a booth. Real nice place! They offer valet or self parking, the self parking is past the valet into a parking garage. You will receive a ticket, make sure you keep it you'll need it to exit the parking garage. The inside of the hotel was very nice, walking threw it into the restaurant was really nice. The hostess a felt was a bit rude, she got rude after I asked to sit outside. Once seated it was really nice, the view is really nice. The cocktails were absolutely delicious, and not weak one bit. Perfect! My friend and I started with the lobster and shrimp nachos which I think we're incredible. We still talk about them to the day. There a very unique twist to nachos and the flavors all worked so well, not only that but the seafood on them was so fresh. I highly recommend trying them. The menu is a bit small and so were the portions which was a tad downsize, especially for the price. We have been here many times before for Mother's Day. We will not be back. We thought it was a buffet especially for $50 a person. It was order off the selected limited menu for $50 a person. It was over priced for what you received. Very disappointed. Not many in there either. Nothing special for the cost. You got a plate of fruit and some croissants. The service was good but a let down. Chandler's has struggled with getting it right before and continues to struggle. The doors were left open for the convenience of the staff but it was freezing inside the restaurant for the patrons. We won't be back for Mother's Day that's for sure. read more

I came on a Friday night, it didn't seem to busy but service was very slow. Honestly the busy boy was probably the o Lu thing that kept me in the place waiting for my drinks/food as we was so helpful and attentive. He checked on my table multiple times to fill up my water glass, make sure we were helped and didn't need anything else. The food was good but wasn't anything amazing. The fish was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. My only dismay with the tacos were the tortillas. I think to keep them on a lighter side, that perhaps they baked them (?)... anyhow, this created a chewy texture which for tacos, wasn't pleasant. I'd prefer them to be fried or even warmed on an open flame or warmed over a hot pan. Other than the tortilla txture, I totally look forward to returning to Chandlers! Decided to eat a good breakfast in case power was lost later. If we couldn't be on the beach it was a good second choice. Crab cakes Benedict were delicious and so perfectly cooked. Same with potoatoes. Loved that it was served on tomato slices instead of muffin. Went back for dinner, only cold foods were being served but again, SO glad we opted for the lobster rolls. The Maine lobster roll was as good and as fresh as being on the Maine coast (and I used to live there). Staff was super on what was a tough day to plan for anything. Five mins ago I Decided to call for reservation, a lazy guy operator put me on hold for 10 seconds and said they are all sold out for tonight. We went Sunday evening for the sunset. It's hard to beat one of Carlsbad's gorgeous fall sunsets over the ocean. Their new executive Chef has brought the menu offerings up to the high standard of the location and resort surroundings. Tom Elg grew up here in Carlsbad. He has put together innovative dishes with care, flair, and a true love of his craft. He's now bringing in fresh fish straight from a local family business. My husband and son had the fresh Sea Bass, I had the Seafood Scampi linguine. Our Grandson chose from the kids menu... cheese pizza of course! Everything was fresh and delicious. This was our first visit and we had to leave a review. We went for happy hour and the service was 5 star. The hostess, Lauren, greeted us with a smile and we were seated at an ocean view table. We immediately felt welcomed and asked a few questions about the menu. She gave us several personal suggestions for both food and cocktails. Isabelle was our server and also very kind and attentive. We travel frequently and know firsthand that first impressions and guest service often matter more than the menu/food. We ordered the mussels and coconut shrimp - AMAZING.
