This was the worse Chinese restaurant I have ever been to. First, they were exceptionally understaffed and couldn't effectively handle the customers. Not only was the service slow but they weren't very personable. I ordered the dinner for one. The egg flower soup tasted like warm vegetable oil. The egg roll was greasy. The sweet and sour pork was greasy. The chicken chow mein...not sure what to say about it. Resembled prison slop. Tasted horrible. Absolutely no Asian flavors. Chan's Palace is by far the best food on the planet. We lived in Paw Paw for 15 years and it was our favorite restaurant . The owners are amazing and the chef(s) trained in Hong Kong. My husband travels internationally and he claims he has never had better chinese anywhere than this place. The Hot and Sour soup is to die for-prices are great and wait staff very friendly. Went there before a movie. Love the hot & sour, theirs is the best. But the service was incredibly slow. Multiple times we had to ask for our check. Which for 2 adults and 2 kids was 80 dollars. The food was decent, but not worth that price. read more

This "palace" doesn't look like one from the outside, but the food is actually pretty good. I had the general Tao chicken, and the meat and sauce was very good. One problem I had was that there were a lot of vegetables in it. I made a joke that it's more of mixed chicken with vegetables than the other way around. My other problem was that the rice you get with the meal is very small, maybe the size of your fist. But otherwise, the people there were nice, and treated me well. read more

First of all, the lo mein should be added to the list of the most addictive substances. The hot and sour soup is the best, and made to order vegetarian style for me. Lots of great options for food allergies and special requests. and they are always willing to add or subtract as needed, due to the fact that it is made fresh to order. I always take family and friends visiting from out of town here and they never leave hungry or disappointed. The dinners seem pricey but you can easily split one between 2 people or more with some amazing crab rangoon's. As a small family ran business they take pride in the food they serve and it shows. My favorite place to eat! Their food is excellent! Best egg rolls we've ever had. Sweet and sour pork I would give a ten out of ten, the batter is crispy and sauce is perfect. Beef Lo Mein and Hung Su Chicken is out of this world. the portions they give in their combination dinners are more than enough. They always give you a fortune cookie with each order. Delicious cuisine! Their beef lo mein was delicious. The almond chicken was a great mix of vegetables with crispy, flavorful chicken. The wonton soup was fresh and huge! I would most definitely recommend Chan's to friends and family, the staff was friendly and very attentive. read more

My wife an I eat at Chan's very often. There is NO other Chinese resturant that we have found in the Kalamazoo area that serves authentic dishes. We especially love the Won Ton soup. NO place has won ton soup even half as good!!!!! We will continue to go back! read more

Although comfortable, Chan's will never win any awards for it's "dining in" experience - there is simply not enough room or ambience to create an atmosphere worth mentioning. However, as a "Carry Out" restaurant, it Excels !! The food is wonderful. The menu is varied so as to include all of the old Anglo-Chinese favorites one would expect, along with a surprisingly delightful spicy Schezwan-inspired selection that includes, perhaps, the very best General Tsou's chicken available anywhere. I've always found the staff to be very friendly, and if necessary, helpful in explaining the different offerings to those unaccustomed to Oriental fare. Prices are quite reasonable. For instance, it's difficult to spend more than $10-11 for a "heaping quart" (easily fit for two) of any of their "higher end" exotic specialty dishes such as the afore-mentioned, General's Chicken !! Many other entrees are less costly. If you're anywhere near Paw Paw, MI - perhaps even travelling between Detroit & Chicago, this small town restaurant will leave you quite satisfied, and most assuredly will compare to any of its similarly priced counterparts in either of those larger cities mentioned !! read more

Terrible service, will not order from their again. They have gotten our order wrong the past 3 times we have ordered. And the boy and women with the dark hair are very rude. This last time they got my order wrong I asked them if they could get me the bigger size that I originally ordered and they told me I would have to pay extra. i said I didn't want to pay extra and would like to keep they gave me, they rolled their eyes. *Place looks nothing like picture shown *Waited 45 minutes to get our food *Had to get our own water *Charged for tea that menu said, was included with our meal *Waitresses were RUDE & not totally coherent & had a very bad attitude *Plates & cups had chips & cracks in them *My food smelled & tasted burned. They still wanted to charge me for it, although I said, it was burned & inedible. Then we asked if I wanted it boxed up. When bill came, she did not want to take it off, even though we asked her to. Then, we asked her if she would again take it off, and she said, "I guess I can". Then came back and said, "Prepared food, we can't take off", even though it was inedible. We had to raise our voice, and tell her we were not going to pay for something I could not eat! The manager came out and asked what the problem was, and we told him. He said it was ok to take it off. We should NOT have had to go through all that. *The other meals were terrible. Like frozen food, or out of a can. *Very bad service *Will never return *Will never recommend this place to anyone read more
