Came back here again in Oct 2017 at the urging of my grandparents who still love coming here. The service was still on point and they were still very accommodating to my dietary restrictions/preferences. I recall this time around an older gentleman was serenading other diners at their tables for tips perhaps, I thought it was neat while I think others thought it was annoying. In any case I enjoyed my time and didn't feel the least bit guilty of the chips I helped myself to nor the protein/veggie fajita dish I decided on. Another win/win in my book! read more

The food at Chapala's on the boulevard in Nampa is my favorite. I love their Chili Rellanos and Chili Colorado burrito. Ok, I love the Chili Verde Burrito also. The Arroz con Pollo is good too. Tried Chapala while in town visiting family. Atmosphere is good and food was excellent. Had the fajitas burrito and a carne asada taco. Both were excellent. Service was friendly and fast. Definitely will come back next time I'm in the area. read more

Food had maggots. My wife called to inform them and they called her a liar. We didn't ask for a refund but just wanted to let them know. Extremely rude. My wife was upset with how she was treated so she posted a review since they didn't seem to care about the condition of the food or cleanliness and the posted back in her review saying she was a liar and never spoke to them, just very poor all around. If you enjoy maggots in your food eat her, if not avoid at all costs. Very sad way to run a place people get food. -5 stars. read more

This place was recommended to me by my mother-in-law who lives in Nampa. She has been in poor health for quite some time and they are so nice to her every time she goes. As she is unable now to leave her house, I went to pick up our order and the woman working there was so nice. The locals were all choosing not to wear masks while walking in to be seated so the woman brought the food out to me while I waited in the parking lot. The food was also quite good and I was able to find some things without dairy that I could eat. My husband got an enormous portion of mocajete and he ate the entire thing! Just okay. Inattentive service. Big menu, but the few times I've been here nothing has been memorable. Tonight I had a quesadilla with chicken. The tortilla was so soggy I had to eat it with a knife and fork. Lots of chicken, but lacking melted cheese, which is usually the main part of the dish. Salsa served with the standard mexican restaurant chips was bland. Chips were never refilled, but the menu says they charge for extra chips so that could be why. Probably okay, because they were a little on the stale side. I also had a Pacifico beer, which they have on tap. It came in a very frosted mug, that was perfect. However, trying to get a lime for the second beer ordered was impossible. My friends love the Cadillac margaritas. They are huge, but I didn't try them so I can't really comment on the flavor. So come for the ice cold beer, but there are much better options in Nampa for Mexican food. Unfortunately not really on the southside of Nampa. read more

Yum. This is the go to Mexican restaurant for my wife and I. Love the fajitas. We share the combo fajitas because of the amount of food. Plenty of chicken, steak and shrimp. Also try the Corona Rita if you like a little beer in your margarita. read more

Every Time I have gone to Chapala's the service and food have been great. Last night it was fairly busy and we where seated right away. Within a minute chips, refried beans and salsa were placed on our table. Our drinks were order now it's time to decide what I was in the mood for. I must say I get overwhelmed by the menu as there is so many items to choose from. I am not very adventurous so I stick to the meal I have had in the past that never has failed me. I believe it's called Chapala's Camarones, bacon wrapped sautéed prawns with onions smothered in monterey jack cheese, sour cream and guacamole.This particular dish also comes with a side of refried beans and rice. This meal is huge and I always have enough leftovers from another meal the next day. The price is around $14 but I figure for two meals it's not so bad. read more

Now charging for CHIPs, come on. Once again tonight we ordered take out, once again we asked them to LABEL each container, once again they did NOT. Many good Mexican restaurants in Nampa, this is NOT one of them, the rice and beans were poor, no flavor at all. You can do much better and get more for your MONEY. read more

We went to this location again after a year and they gave the man his bar order this time. I ordered something with shrimp and bacon and it wasn't done the way it had been at another location and to me seemed that the plate had a lot of soft grilled onions as filler. They were nice about my questions and service was good even in the middle of this crazy medical 'crisis'. They handled waiting for a table by having us wait in our car and calling us when they had space. It's still not the closest location to us, but at least when we're in that part of town it's an option again. read more

Went to Chapala's on 12th, and it was fantastic. The service was excellent. Our food was exactly what we were hoping for. I am extremely picky about margaritas and what tastes good to me, and their margarita on the rocks was SO GOOD. I would have paid whatever they wanted for a to-go pitcher . I am disappointed that I lived so close for so many years and never made my way in, and now I'm a solid 20 min drive away and just discovering it. Will definitely be back. read more

I have always loved Chapala. The Nampa 12th location is by far the best in the entire state. They have the friendliest staff, and their service is wonderful. The food tastes great and they keep a fairly clean establishment. It's a great place to eat when you are dining out with family. read more

My favorite Mexican restaurant in Idaho! The burrito verde is to die for and the service is great.

First, the FLIES. I really had trouble with flies. I waved them off my food to the point I got it to go within 15 minutes. Second, carne asada was super oily and bland. Compared to the location in Caldwell, this one really sucks. I got "I'm sorry" from the manager but no acknowledgment of the fly problem. I can't help but think of how bad the kitchen must be, so I ditched my take home. Never Again. read more

The chips with salsa and beans were great. Love those. The waitress was polite, friendly, and attentive, but our entrees weren't as we hoped they'd be. I ordered the steak plate that came with rice, beans, a chili relleno and tortillas. My husband ordered arroz con pollo, which also came with tortillas. Our meals came out quickly, but my steak was very well done :-( It had an okay flavor, but needed more salt and was tough. My family and I for the last 10 years have been coming here. The service and food has always been good. But today at 3:45 was a different story. I stood in the reception area for 10 min waiting for someone to help take my order. I could here the staff in the kitchen laughing and having a good time. I was the only person there at this time. Average Mexican fare. Not bad, but not the most fantastic either. Frankly, I've had good and bad experiences eating here. It's not just the things on the menu either, it all comes down to who's in the kitchen at the time you go in to eat. You can definitely tell the difference when someone who's a good chef is working or isn't. For this reason this place never leaves "middle of the road" for me. I've tried their beef fajitas, their house special soup "caldo siete mares" and the cheese and onion enchiladas. I've also had their various burritos and chimis. All of it can be good or bad. Almost like a flip of a coin. Here lately it's been on the better side. I hope it stays that way. read more

Ok. My first two times were rough, so I finally ordered what I wanted (changed up their menu a bit!) I ordered the shrimp fajitas, with only bell pepper and onion. No celery, no broccoli, no cauliflower! And guess what? With these changes, the fajitas were good!! I really want to like this place because I just moved here and I need to find a good Mexican place. Don't bother... They get a 2 star for clean bathrooms. They vacuum while you eat. It was hard to hold a conversation with loud background noise. The food is nothing to write home about. read more

They can always get us a table or booth quickly take our orders and deliver the delicious food quickly. We found the service fast and friendly on a Sat at 12:30p. Food (chicken enchilada, beef taco and beef tostada) were fresh and deliciosso.
